He's one of those people that likes to do the unexpected...and I know that really well. So when we took a day trip to SF for our 5th dating anniversary, I DIDN'T expect anything since that would be too predictable for him.

On the drive home down the coast, we stopped for dinner at a restaurant near the beach. After we ate, he suggested we go walk on the beach below the restaurant and maybe watch the sunset. It was really cold so after sitting a bit, I said, "can we please just go watch the rest of the sunset from the car, I'm freezing!"

Because he didn't want to blow it, he didn't fight me on it, but had to revise his plan...he was going to propose as the sun was setting, but instead while walking back to the car he suddenly dropped to one knee and I immediately said, "What are you doing?!?"

So, I kind of ruined his nice plan, but he eventually got to popping the question and I was so happy I could barely speak. I was sleeping over at a friends house, for some much needed "girl time" and he said he was going to pick me up for dinner, I immediately said no! I didn't want to be rude to my friend and ruin our girl fun plans! ha ha; so he finally had to call my friend without me noticing and let her in on it, she insisted so much that I finally went, reluctantly of course! He took me to the Hotel Del, sat me on a bench overlooking the ocean, and started talking about how he was so grateful for me and our relationship, I was so happy to hear that from him that I started crying, and right when he finished speaking he took a little wooden box out of his pocket and proposed! I was so surprised! I have LOVED Tuesdays ever since...

PS my dad also proposed to my mom at the Hotel Del Coronado, my husband never knew that... lovely coincidence!Pera Chapitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18206038069801667194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28060897.post-38100563392746201402011-08-02T00:03:36.084-04:002011-08-02T00:03:36.084-04:00My friend sent this out to all her friends and fam...My friend sent this out to all her friends and family as a way of telling them that her and her beau were getting married and it was the SWEETEST thing. I think the surprise is the sweetest part.

I was super surprised too- my husband took me on a tour of his hometown [Bend, OR] when all of the sudden all these mysterious street art pieces started showing up on our path, and then the final one was a giant piece on a rooftop overlooking the Deschutes river that said "Marry Me?" He is an artist, so I recognized his style but I didn't want to get my hopes up along the way, until we came to the final one! He proposed to me at 3am when we were driving home from a friends house. I had just gotten pulled over for the first time EVER and I got a ticket. I was so upset and annoyed. He told me he needed to grab something from his parents house really quick so we drove that way, when we did he had me pull over at the place we first met. He told me to get out so I did and we sat on the porch and talked. This is also the first place we kissed it is so very special to us. When I wasn't looking he grabbed the ring and I turned around and of course started crying. I hadn't expected it at all! And in true fashion of my fiance he said "Do you wanna?". The most special night of my life. Last October he proposed to me in a small art gallery in Salt Lake City, where we live.

He took me there to look at the art, and as we were walking around the room I came upon a collage on the wall that looked different from all the other art. I then realized it was a collage of tickets from things we'd gone to together, and there was a ring box in the middle of it. He opened the box and got down on one knee there in the art gallery.
