Ballet flats

Just a quickie post to say: How gorgeous are these ballet flats? I'd love to wear them around the city and at home this fall with boyfriend jeans and this cozy sweater.

P.S. Toby's first ballet class.

Very cute. I wish you would also post outfit alternatives in lower price ranges for us 20-somethings on a budget. $138 is a lot for one sweater ;)

These are darling. Comfort and style: the best combination! A perfect summer to fall transition shoe before the weather really cools off!

barbara, good point, i'll definitely keep that in mind! here's a very similar sweater for a third of the price: http://bit.ly/1ppLNp0

beautiful shoes. now if only they were as comfy as a pair of real, broken-in, canvas ballet flats!
Loved the adorable pictures of Toby's ballet class.

I love ballet flats. I wear them year round. Like Barbara, however, I always try to look for lower price options. H&M has a pair very similar to these for less than $20 :)

Joanna, will you tell us where the jeans are from? Thanks! - Stephanie

Joanna Goddard said...

hmmm, i'm not sure, stephanie; they're from the urban outfitter's website. i did a quick search and didn't see them exactly, but this pair looks somewhat similar? http://bit.ly/1xcg4BI

SO LOVELY! As a former ballerina, I would totally sport these. Sadly, I'm so tough on my shoes living in NYC that I would stain these and ruin them in a heart beat. But I wouldn't trade all the walking in the city for anything- best exercise ever.

Joanna, no. They are cute, but the sole’s look thin as pizza crust and they look impossible to wipe clean if scuffed.

Check out the Yosi Samra nude flats at Nordstrom or Shopbop. They hold up very very well. Worth every penny. I have several go-to pairs.

But the prettiest nude ballet flats ever have to be <a href="http://www.annmashburn.com/shop/shoes/nude-e-porselli-ballet-flat.html”>these</a> from Ann Mashburn.

I love these flats! love to see them in the color of "real" ballet slippers.

Yes, the shoes are lovely. But how has Toby's ballet career progressed?

Tootie McBear said...

Well, shoot. I messed that link up. But the E.Porselli ballet flats at Ann Mashburn take my breath away.

Her entire line of clothes is like”Cup of Jo goes to Georgia” I bet you’ll love it.

I think these are the jeans here, Stephanie!

haha tootie, i love that!

Nah, if they're from UO they'll have no support and break after three uses. Cute, though.

maggie, he took a hiatus for a few years to pursue other interests (tire swings, bubble guppies), but he's planning to take a class again this fall!! xo

I have been obsessed with these ballet flats ever since I first saw them on Pinterest! How funny now that you just posted about them.

I've always loved ballet-inspired styles.

Barbara - You should also check out Everlane for their seed stitch sweaters. I've been wearing my husband's all day, they are drapey and perfect.

These shoes are gorgeous, but I know from experience they won't stay that lovely pink color for long.

These are too cute and look SO comfortable. I love that flats are in for this fall-- being 5'10'' heels just aren't practical for everyday use!

Those are adorable. They don't look durable enough for the London rain, but I always keep a cute pair of flats like this with me for indoor use. Pinning these now.

I love ballet flats. You can wear them with every piece of clothing, and still rock the look. I call them ballerinas.

So pretty but my arches just ache at the thought of urban parenting in such delicate shoes! However, a nice afternoon date with DH at an outside Oakland eatery would be the perfect way to show these sweeties off!

Emma McIlroy said...

I thought that they were actual ballet shoes for a moment there!!! They really are ballet flats. :)

Oh, a cozy sweater, broken in jeans, and comfy ballet flats make me long for crisp fall days. It's currently high 90's in GA and I'm SO over it!! Cute look inspiration!
