Have a beautiful weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? We're actually in Atlanta celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday, and I'm in charge of putting together a quiz about who knows her best—complete with questions like "how old were you when you had your first kiss?" and "how much did you used to charge for babysitting?" (Her answer was 50 cents!) Also, thanks for your comments on this post; we were laughing out loud. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few great posts from around the web...

Eight hours of sleep might actually be bad for you.

What writers can learn from Good Night Moon.

The nostalgia machine is such a flashback!

How to be a pickpocket.

People barreling out of a water slide.

Good words to remember.

19 mistakes new parents make. (Number 9 made me laugh out loud.)

Beautiful photos of Florence.

What really goes into a Bon Appetit recipe.

Pretty hair trend: The middle part.

I love following ballet dancers on Instagram.

A soldier's kiss.

Cheesecake popsicles? Yes, please.

Plus, a bonus for all readers: Get 20% off at Emily McDowell's shop with the code JOANNASENTME. (Good through Monday, on domestic orders only)

Joanna,
There will always be a part of me that wants to be a ballerina. So beautiful and graceful. Not to mention strong!
I used to check out ballet books from the library and practice in secret when I was growing up.
Great picture and links.
Thanks as always.

Ah! Those photos of people being shot out of the water slide were amazing! It looked like some of them were sliding down a rainbow. I always love your Friday links!

She must be about my age...I used to charge 50 cents for babysitting too!

Joanna,
As always a wonderful set of links and a great picture.
I will always want to be a ballerina until the day I stop breathing. So graceful and strong.
My parents did not want me taking dance lessons so I checked out books from the library and practiced in secret.
Have a wonderful weekend.

hi! I wanted to make a reservation at The Standard in Miami for mid-September and when I called yesterday, was told by the hotel reservation desk that I could make the reservation though today. When I just tried online though, the rate is not available. Do you know why?
Thanks!

We just celebrated my dad's 60th and I asked everyone questions about him also. It was so much fun. The younger generation also got to learn so much more about him. The game is even more fun with you break people up into teams and give them the little toy hand clappers to use when they think they have the answer. Lots of noise and yelling. Good times. Enjoy!

Love this picture! You should try to find Sarah Lamb as Alice in Royal Ballet's Alice in Wonderland. She is AMAZING!!!!

There's a wonderful exhibit at the High Museum of Art - Dream Cars - that the boys (and girls :) ) may love and is a fun way to take advantage of the a/c if it gets too hot.

Try to find a King of Pops while you're walking around Decatur (or really anywhere in town).

Ugh i get so frustrated with these articles "oh no 8 hours of sleep a night will kill you!!!!!" It seems like every other day they're coming up with new theories it makes my head spin trying to keep up! Coffee is good, coffee is bad. Yoghurt is good, yoghurt is bad. Having three drinks per week will help you live longer, but 5 drinks a week will kill you, or whatever. Just live and do what makes you feel good :) I got 9 hours last night and I feel amazing.

Ahh, Welcome to Atlanta!! If you're looking for the honest-to-God best pizza out there, you've got to try Antico Napoletana— they make the most delicious, authentic Neapolitan pizza and close when they run out of dough! Also so glad y'all went to Taqueria, it's a cult classic in Atlanta. Cheers and have a good stay!

My home town! And where I currently reside- in Virginia Highlands. Welcome to the South!!! P.S. Check out Piedmont Park, it's the Central Park of Atlanta. There's a pond with ducks and great playground that your boys would love. Also, I highly recommend Highland Bakery in Inman Park. Enjoy your time with family!!

If you're in Decatur, you HAVE to try Revolution Doughnuts. So so good! They have cake and yeast style doughnuts that are out of this world! The maple bourbon cro-dough is a fav, along with the classic vanilla bean. It's located off of E. College Avenue.

And you could check out the Dekalb Farmers market. My kids always love going to look at the live fish and crabs. And they love the bread samples :)

Enjoy the city!! It's fun here in Decatur!

the newborn mistakes made me laugh, I was particularly responsible for the banging heads on door frames (car doors too seek) and staying up late why oh why?? I also had an inexplicable fear of her falling out of the baby bjorn (was that just me)
LOVED this!

Love it! Interior design AND ballet. I love both! Thought that was Melissa Hamilton at first. I'm in NY and take adult ballet classes and I'm shocked at how most of my buddies have no idea who the Royal Ballet ballerinas are. They are amongst my faves world-wide!
[BTW] I'm a "wordie" and haven't found a way to use so-called "open ID." So googs it is. :]
