Have a fun weekend.

(Kiss that little face!) What are your plans this weekend? Alex's good friend is visiting, so we'll be taking him this restaurant. And daylight savings is this weekend—one step closer to spring!!! Finally, the Bachelor finale is on Monday. Would you want to do live commenting here during the show? Will you be watching it at 8pm EST? I'd love to watch it together—it would fun to gossip with a group of girl friends!—but I'm not sure if you guys TiVo it or are in different time zones. Let me know! xoxo

Anyway, here are a few fun posts from around the web...

Wes Anderson's characters can't move diagonally.

Love the spring trend of fisherman sandals.

Middle class problems.

Burgers for the win.

What a pretty dress.

Hypnotic art.

Have you ever read this magical book?

Mark your calendars: Lena Dunham is hosting SNL this weekend.

A new-and-improved Barbie. I love that she plays soccer.

Mom's travel guides. Made me laugh. (Be safe!)

Jamie Beck makes NYC look so dreamy.

It's cool to be a grown-up!

A bacon-scented alarm clock.

The teaser for Mad Men's new season is a tease.

Have a good one! Thanks for all the fun comments this week:)

Frequent reader, love most of your posts.
Just a thought, would be nice to spread the world on responsible products like https://ssekodesigns.com/ or http://intlprincess.org/ instead of sandals from a corporate giant who screws with your credit cards;-)

Better ways to spend our money!!

confession. a girlfriend and I who live in different states totally live text throughout the Bachelor. We've even turned it into a bit of a drinking game: every time someone cries, says "i just want to find my soulmate", "i am so ready to settle down" or when someone gets kissed. its turned out to be much more entertaining to watch now.

Aw, Anton! I have never watched the Bachelor, and never will :) You will find me swimming indoors with the kiddos and trying to rent a copy of "Catching Fire" this weekend - today's the release date!

Ha! I love that cartoon.

Seriously, what did we do before the internet?

Middle class problems seem like upper class problems... maybe its the difference between what "middle class" looks like from UK to US.

I don't watch The Bachelor but I think live commenting is a great idea for those that do. :)

I just wanted to add - I really love these Friday posts you do each week. It's great having so many cool links to read over the weekend.

Anton, looks adorable. I can't bel he is growing up so quickly!! I don't watch The Bachelor so you ladies have fun! That restaurant looks rad, do let us know what you think of it?

I am in for live commenting! I watch at 7 CST which is 8 EST. I already live tweet along with all the people of twitter (that I don't know) every Monday night and it feels like a giant party. Maybe if the commenting is too complicated we could all have a big twitter party with a hashtag you create? Thanks for your links and for always making my Fridays a little sweeter :) I'm new to blogging and hope to be half as creative with my posts as you someday.

So glad you mentioned Harris Burdick! Such an amazing book.

I think you should mention the URL of that burger site- totally clicked on it at work and IT flagged me!

I'm in California, but will be watching live!

Those first world problems had me rolling on the floor! Hilarious!!! My new favorite twitter account! Loved the hypnotic art too. So cool! :)

Joanna Goddard said...

oh no, jenny! so sorry about that!

Awh I LOVE the Chronicles of Harris Burdick. I use it as a writing prompt in one of my writing units with the kiddos. It's always fun to read the kid's mystery stories!

I laughed out loud at the cupcake tweet (middle class problems). Too funny!

And little Anton just keeps getting cuter! Have a great weekend, Joanna!

Great fashion picks!

When are they going to stop worrying about Barbie and start fixing all the macho beefed up boy dolls? every boy action figure doll is SUPER beefy and disproportionate. Why is it that people assume that women are more susceptible to body image issues than men?

That Juan Pablo is a kook! For some reason, I def get a weird manipulative vibe from him... Aaaand... When he touches the girls' faces and pushes their hair back- YUK! He seems fraudulent .

always look forward to friday links! have you checked out this rad look into roz chast's life?

I don't even know where to start with Juan Pablo. But I do want to ask. Am I the only one who thought that Cassandra looked like a bratz doll in that purple lipstick on the Women Tell All?

Mila Bassett said...

I liked reading comments in the Barbie link. I think the hype around the new doll is so stretched out of proportion...Pun intended ha!!

As I began to read your blog today and a smile quickly came to my face, it struck me that I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being you and for opening up your heart to share all that fills it with us. I love reading about your love of family, your squeals of glee over fashion or a particular restaurant that tickles your fancy in my favorite city and everything in between. I am an overworked, exhausted medical student who has had little to no time to see my friends in the past couple years. Many a day, somewhere in the early hours of the morning as I am bleary-eyed and studying, all it takes is a couple of clicks to come to your page, and a few minutes later, I feel as though I have spent a little much needed time with a friend. Thank you :)

Joanna Goddard said...

Kindelberg, haha, no, why? :)

Joanna Goddard said...

yeah, so maybe we won't do live commenting since most people seem to be in different time zones or watching it on tivo, but thanks so much for being open to it!

Joanna Goddard said...

alex, what a sweet sweet note, thank you so much :) my sister went to med school and it is no joke! hang in there! lots of love xoxoxoxo
