Pit stop ballet

When we were little, my dad watched every Grand Prix and Formula 1 race, and, although I liked to sit in his lap while he watched, I was never all that interested. Until! This video of the Ferrari team doing a pit stop in TWO SECONDS is totally mindblowing. Seriously. Worth watching. They are so cool under pressure.

P.S. More random posts, if you're in the mood.

My Dad and I had the same tradition!
I still love it, though and these guys were my main reason to study mechanical engineering in college (even though I ended up working as an advertising copywriter).

:))))

I'd hate to be that guy that has to stand in front of the car as he pulls in! Very cool.

I like to watch it again and again to see what each person makes.

p.s.= proud to be italian! ;-)

This is mind blowing! I had to watch twice because I was sure I missed something. Agree with Mindy completely: what about being that guy standing directly in front of the car? Scary!

I wish they could change my tires that fast at the Walmart Super Store.

This reminds me so much of my childhood! I grew up in metro Detroit and my dad raced and restored vintage cars. We went to the Grand Prix on Belle Isle every year; that noise takes me back!

Since we are sitting here cooped up with all this snow, I showed it to my kids who were absolutely fascinated. Thanks for sharing! Stay warm today!

Have you watched the movie 'Senna' Joanna?

And also 'rush' ...
Both are fantastic but Senna made me weep.

Can the F1 season start already? I can't believe it's only a month away. Although I'm not looking forward to the 4am wake up times, but the sound is so intoxicating it's worth it.

It's amazing how fast they do it, but when you think about it, they have 1 guy for each job, unlike other racing series. Let's hope this season is better than last year's, even with all the stupid rule changes.

Have you watched the movie SENNA? I never understood what was so thrilling about cars going round in circles -ehm, circuits, I mean. Until I watched this documentary. For the same reason I feel I understand guys better now too (ha!). I recommend it.

Serious talent right there.
I live in Melbourne Australia, and can walk to the F1 track around Albert Park from my house, and hear the cars racing for days on end when it starts. EVEN WITH MY DOORS AND WINDOWS CLOSED. It is amazing how much goes into these races!! This video totally gets me in the spirit!!

What's even more mind blowing is McLaren and Ferrari F1 teams consulting with Great Ormand Street Hospital on ICU patient transfer from surgery.

Just brilliant.

That's so brilliant!! I have always said my favourite part of F1 is the pitstops and if I was to ever go to see a race I'd want to sit, or maybe stand, - this ain't no classical music concert- right above those geniuses! Ailish Goes

So cool! Did you know that the Ferrari pit stop team also teamed up with children's cardiac surgeons in London to help improve the transfer after surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital? An awesome collaboration!
