Thanks for sharing! I loved this. Sometimes the future, or the unknown in general, freaks me out, but it was so encouraging to hear her say- "I still have a lot more in me." That takes strength. - Lynn-Holly W.
Hi Joanna! I found something today that made me think of the links and interesting things you find and share online. No agenda or anything like that, here, just something I thought was in line with the content you share: http://www.lessthanone.com/.Thanks! Emily
I love this! This week is apparently all about memory. I loved the excerpt in Salon yesterday from Su Meck, the woman who can no longer remember the first 22 years of her life. Then the Quora digest included a question about exceptional memory and I got lost in a wikipedia hole of different memory types. Now this! Memory, man. It's fascinating and so emotional.
This is really touching! Thanks for sharing Joanna!
This was awesome. My takeaway...there is always humor in tragedy.
Oh, I love StoryCorps. Have you read the book "Listening is an Act of Love?" A beautiful collection of stories from this project.

I loved this! What an inspiring story- and what a lovely boyfriend!
#30, not 35
If this one is anything like Danny and Annie I'll have to wait til I get home to watch it because I'll be a blubbering mess.
The 9/11 series by Story Corps is pretty moving too.
I did volunteer work/sort of an internship with a post-rehab place that worked with people who had traumatic brain injuries, and so many of them found the humor out of their memory loss. I specifically remember one time going to a fast food place and one man who had an extremely short-term memory asking me what seemed like every five minutes where the bathroom was, but then forgetting to go. Finally, he asked me again and I must have made a frustrated face because he burst out laughing and said something along the lines of, "I've asked this a hundred times haven't I? I feel like I'm going to go in my pants." We both just cracked up and I finally just walked him to the bathroom. I will never forget working with such a lovely bunch of characters!
This made me cry. So beautiful.
This was very sweet! Thanks for sharing it with us - it's a great reminder of the great lengths people will go for the ones they love. :-)
I actually used to lifeguard with Tim Rauch of The Rauch Brothers back in the day. We used to chat and I would watch him sketch people on our breaks. So great to see him do amazing things with his talent.
This is really sweet, Joanna! Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely sending this to my boyfriend.
What a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing. Really puts a lot of "first world problems" into perspective. What an amazing woman and amazing man.

Hi Joanna! Thanks for sharing this video. It's sooo touching! I'm gonna check out more Story Corps vids.- xoxo Donna
I love these. One day I sat and watched all of them. It is such a cool concept. We need to keep talking to each other. Our stories are important.
wow. this short film was beautiful! I love how she is so strong and focuses on the good side (or humorous side) of her story rather than the negative! thanks so much for sharing :)xox,chloehttp://popcosmo.com
This was wonderful. Thank you for sharing it.
I LOVE StoryCorps! I have my students use the series in a project about civil rights. They have to create and record their own story. It's one of the projects I'm most proud of and the one that gets some of the best work out of them.EmiliaMcG.blogspot.com
That was really sweet, made me cry. I also watched the other story you linked to and balled my eyes out even harder.
Joanna, your content is always so sweet. I am not a usual commenter, but with the culmination of so many sweet things over time, I just couldn't resist! Thanks for sharing! Btw, I just watched the StoryCorps video of Danny and Annie and it was just beyond beautiful. Worth every tear! Sincerely,Mary V

Joanna, you've done it again. You always seem to post things I wouldn't have found myself and that leave me feeling grateful for what I have. Thank you.
Thanks so much for sharing this. So sweet!
My bf and I were at the StoryCorps gala last fall and this couple was seated at our table. They were very sweet (and both pretty smokin', which doesn't quite come through in their cartoon representation :) And the whole room was crying at several of the animated stories that were shared as part of the gala presentation. StoryCorps rocks. I love the spoken history/story telling movement that's been led by StoryCorps, The Moth and This American Life. Actually, elements of your blog remind me of the storytelling movement. Authentic, first person narrative, not overly literary and not afraid to be vulnerable.
