Citrus wreath

My mom is under strict instructions not to check my blog tonight because I actually sent her this California citrus wreath for her birthday, and it's arriving tomorrow! Isn't it lovely? The eucalyptus leaves smell fresh, and the lemon and orange slices would brighten up your home in the winter. I think it would look nice in her kitchen or bedroom. (Did you know the scent of citrus helps reduce stress?)

P.S. Plane picnics.

Eucalyptus wow. Brings back many memories. As a kid whenever we were down with cold my mom would put a drop of eucalyptus oil on a napkin and ut it under the pillow at bedtime. i still use it to ipen my sinuses :).

I always wondered with parents from different sides of the Atlantic, does your mum/mom grumble with American spelling or is she cool with it?

Also seeing baby photos of you, Toby totally takes after you, especially that picture of you and your sister wearing roller skates you added for your birthdays.

The wreath is fantastic!!! I am sure she will absolutely love it. Citrus scents are my favorite. Something that looks fantastic and smells great is like a bonus.

that's lovely - "wintery" enough to be a fitting decoration for this time of the year, but also adding a fresh and green touch to lighten up the gloomy mood (which has caught even sunny california in the last few days).

this actually is a wonderful DIY idea, too. i always make me own wreaths, but couldn't think of something appropriate for this season between christmas and spring.

thanks for the inspiration jo,
i bet your mom will love this, too!

Oh if only I knew about this when it was my mom's birthday! This is such a lovely change-up from the customary flowers-in-a-vase present.

gorgeous! I made a wreath like this at a great course in London before Christmas- it was clementine and lime- so still citrus- we added ginger as well and put cloves in the clementines. I love wreaths and loved the workshop- I'm really wanting a Valentine and Easter wreath now! they make the outside of the house so nice- or a flat front door in a block look welcoming!

i have been dying to buy this! i feel like it's the perfect counterpoint to the totally miserable weather we're having in nyc, and certainly cheaper than a plane ticket to california. did your mom love it?
