Gift Guide Part #2: Your Beautiful Mom Who Loves Long Chats on the Phone and Never Gets Stumped by Vocab Words (Except Once! By "Friable"!)

Rosemary plant, $55 (also available here for $49.99). My friend gave us one this past weekend, and now our entire living room smells incredible.
Hedgehog table brush from Germany, $16, because it would be so cute to bust out after dinners.
Homemade chocolate-dipped figs with sea salt that you make yourself (recipe here). How delicious do those look?
Thick wool scarf, handknit in Berlin, because she'd look so pretty in it. $150. (This colorblock scarf is lovely, too.)
The best cookbook you've read all year, $17.26.

Black sea salt to sprinkle over buttered toast, salads and cheese, $18.
Wooden salad hands, made in Vermont, for leisurely dinners together, $30.
A sweet little ranunculus bouquet in farmhouse pottery, for her desk, $55.
Magnets featuring her favorite people, $3.99 each.
Plane tickets to visit each other, since that's what you both want the most.

P.S. More gifts for moms, and last year's complete gift guide.

(This post isn't sponsored by anyone, I just love all the products!)

These ideas are great, Joanna! Except I balked at the price tag for the rosemary plant that costs just a few bucks at the store (albeit, minus the pretty packaging, but still...)

the rosemary plant gift makes me LOL. Here in Oregon, so many craigslist ad asking people to dug their rosemary plant out and it's theirs for free...

This is y I decide to just buy the dried rosemary instead of getting the plant.

What a cute picture for the magnet link!
And my rosemary also kept growing in my little herb patch in my garden in Belgium. Almost all rosemary now ;-)

Aw, I love the last one best! I've had such trouble knowing what to get my mom for Christmas, what a great list!

I love the hat on your sweet boy!Where is that from?

If you place a rosemary branch in a pot of dirt, it grows a whole new plant!....for free. And it is very fast! I just thought 50 bucks for a rosemary plant was too much....

What do you get the Mom who never misses a chance to find fault with you, never calls you (but expects you to call her) and never visits you (but expects you to visit her - and then plays solitaire on the computer in the back room when you do visit)?

You see, these are the things I wrestle with this time of year.

I just love rosemary trees. And the cover of that cookbook is just amazing. I am looking forward to all your guides.

I know this is a "for your mom" gift guide, but all the foodie gifts would actually be perfect for my loves-to-cook fiance! thanks all the same :)

I love these lists oh so much. It's like you know my family members the way you describe them. My beautiful Irish mother, Finola, who would love a Rosemary plant, loves long phone chats, and is quite good at her vocab words! And the hedgehog brush is perfect considering we call my dad Harry Hedgehog. They recently moved to North Carolina, to live part time on their sailboat, but are coming home for Christmas and I'm so looking forward to it!

Your gift guides are always my favorite! They have a mix of price ranges and most of the items are ones I don't see on every other blog. Thank you so much!

And great disclaimer. Haha.

I laughed because as a urology physician assistant, I use the word friable all the time and have totally lost perspective on what words are part of everyone's vocabulary vs my urology vocabulary. :-)

The cost savings tends to heavily outweigh the up-front cost as businesses grow beyond around 5 employees. Juggling communication via a standard phone system can not only become confusing, but also comes with high opportunity costs from business lost due mis-managed calls and unprofessional phone call processes Business Phone Service.
