Have a wonderful weekend.

What are your plans for the weekend? We're planning to watch The Graduate and carve a big pumpkin with Toby. Hope you have a great weekend, and here are a few fun posts from around the web...

A new coffee table book for Wes Anderson fans.

How to get smarter.

These shoes would look pretty with jeans.

Interesting article: "Some women only want, like, a third of it all."

Beautiful wire sculptures.

What it's like to live in space!

Caramel cake.

A gracefully executed quit.

Paris tip: Get bread dough from bakeries.

Black diamond ring. Love.

15 crazy ideas to make your life saner.

Have a good one, and thank you again for your sweet comments this week. They made me feel really reassured and encouraged. xoxo

wow those frye shoes are TO DIE FOR. they would go with practically anything. the only problem is they are WAY out of my budget... maybe I can treat myself though if I vow not to shop for a few months ;)

the graduate never gets old. one of my favorite parts is when ben insists that elaine tell him how the fiance proposed:
elaine: "he said we'd make a really good team"
ben: "oh he didn't say that did he?"

That article about women wanting 1/3 of it all was written by a friend of mine! Thanks so much for sharing it - I didn't know she wrote it! :)

I could watch The Graduate over and over--and I have! I love Ben's mom's reaction--scream--when she learns Ben plans to marry Elaine Robinson. The best. Also, you look a little bit like Elaine. Have a great weekend with your pumpkins.

The "Living With Kids" article on Karen Nyberg was amazing, I had to read it twice. After just having seen the movie Gravity, this added to how much I just realized I don't know about space. For starters, I didn't even realize that there were people up there now!

I was named after the character in that movie!

Am I the only one WHO thinks Elaine from The Graduate looks like your mom?

Hey! I was wondering if you could do a post (or reply to my comment) about what shoes women in New York wear to work in the winter. I just moved here from LA and am clueless (have have NO winter)! Or even some winter outfits that are warm, comfy, and work attire. Thanks!

love the "sane" link. i already do a handful of these so you'd think i'd be more sane! (having the same cleaning supplies under every sink is my favorite and saves me a ton of time when i want to do just a little tidying)

Repeat link! Haha how bad is it that I noticed you already had posted the caramel cake before in one of your weekend posts.

I thought it said 'A gracefully executed QUILT' and based on the comments below the quote I am not the only one! Haha! Thank goodness the weekend is here. This mama's brain (I have a 2.5 year old and 4 month old) is ready for some relaxation, I just wish my kids would understand the concept of sleeping in on weekends.

I look forward to your Friday posts bcuz they're my fave! I even read it to my hubby (and I think he likes it too!). Today, I was taken most by the "sweet comments" and loved them as well!! I need the encouragement too! I am a 1st time mom of a beautiful 8 month old (we have no family nearby and are barely starting to make friends) so I've had plenty meltdowns aka psycho moments. It doesn't help that my own overthinking can take me down! After finally having the guts to tell my husband and Mom that I felt like I was losing it, I'm so grateful they didn't think I was psycho! It's so hard being a stay at home mom. It's certainly not what I expected. I thought I would have time to do everything and be super mom/wife. Not! I am slowly trying to not be so hard on myself and set aside my introverted tendencies by getting out of the house! It's helping. Now I just have to tackle my horrible body image (I'm gaining weight instead of losing). Becoming a mother is a blessing (but it comes with its hurdles--that's for sure)!
