Have a great weekend.

What are your plans for this weekend? We're having a (chilly) picnic with friends, I'm taking Toby to a drumming class, and I'm planning to try plum lipstick. I'll show a before-and-after, unless it looks terrible, haha. Also, baby Anton is finally finally finally sleeping a bit better so I am starting to feel like myself again. Thank you again for all your encouraging comments, which really brightened my spirits on the toughest days. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun posts from around the web...

Swiss cheesemakers in action!

Cute birthday cake.

Cool idea for when a candle is gone.

This girl called 911 about a massive freaking spider.

What makes Nacho Cheese Doritos so appealing.

A toddler's hilarious conversation with himself.

Design Within Reach is having their semi-annual sale.

What your drink says about you.

The greatest New York book!

How to create supermodel cheekbones.

Would you make salmon in a dishwasher?

Rents are officially nuts in San Francisco.

Three of the best flavors combined. No big deal.

Plus, three past posts you may have missed:
* Who's your celebrity crush?
* 101 best-written TV shows.
* Why kids cover their eyes when they're hiding.

The video of the toddler talking to himself while in the bathroom is unbelievable. I work with kids and while I've heard some of them sing songs to themselves when they go to the bathroom I've never heard something as hilarious as this!

Thank you for the laugh, hope you have a great weekend! (:

OMG that toddler video. I died laughing. In truth, he's just verbalizing 50% of what everyone is thinking while they're sitting there.

that toddler's monologue is priceless.
also the spider episode... I can relate to her 100% (not that I would call police, as an adult) and I'm happy to know the police decided to help her out... sweet.

Read more about the girl with the spider - she has muscular dystrophy and couldn't easily kill it (and she called the non-emergency 911)

The media can really leave out some important details!!

Funny, I have a favorite brand of soy candle but it goes so quickly. I end up with lots of short cups. So I put them in the microwave to melt the wax and I wash them. After 4 years of marriage and lots of dishes piled up in the sink many of my cups have broken. So all my drinking cups (for wine, juice, milk and anything) are candle glasses and mason jars. Or pickle jars. I like it :)

Egads. That picture of the Beatles - when? I was 13 when they came to Washington DC in 1966. I still can't believe my Dad let me go to the concert. It was their 2nd, 3rd or 4th appearance in the US and Ringo touched my arm!!! Thanks for sharing and, oh, were you even born then???

Seriously, that article was ridiculous! Not only does she have muscular dystrophy and was therefore unable to kill or catch the spider, she has a compromised immune system so being bite by that spider could have killed her!

Okay, I am normally scared of spiders, but I don't think I would call 911.

And the kid in the bathroom. How cute and funny!

Thanks for the great start to the weekend!

On the note of police and spiders... My husband and I once had the police called on us after we'd killed a spider. The funny thing was that I had been the one smacking the spider with a shoe, and my husband had been the one shrieking like a girl and running away. So the neighbors heard one loud smack, followed by screaming, more smacking, and running down the hallway. Too bad it took the police an hour to get there, so if there had been any real trouble in our home help would have arrived much too late.

Hahahhahaahaha! The toddler on the toilet is priceless! Wow. And he mentioned poutine?! Is his family living in Montreal or something? So funny.

The what-your-drink-says-about-you link is also pretty great. Some of those descriptions are so accurate- like the gin and tonic.

Sorry for the mistakes... as I'm a swiss reader and don't speak (and write) english perfectly. Just wanted to say that I was surprised and happy to see that you talk (a little bit) about Switzerland. The pictures are beautiful and it IS really like this (not everywhere:) ...but as Switzerland is a really small country, if you come to visit you will easily find this kind of places). And Gruyères is so good! My father is a farmer and also produces milk to make Gruyères :)
And I really like reading your blog, it's interesting, reminds me of New York and helps me to improve my english!
