Favorite grey jeans

A few people on instagram have asked about my grey jeans, and I love them so much that I thought I'd share the info here, too: They're this AG pair. They have a bit of stretch, so they're super flattering. They were the first jeans I wore after having a baby, and they miraculously made me feel sexy while my other pairs still looked terrible. They're not cheap, but I think jeans are worth splurging on, since you wear them all the time, right? It's the whole cost-per-wear idea. Anyway, I'd highly recommend them!

Any recommendations of fall clothes you love?

P.S. Pretty shoes.

I love these! I just got my first pair of gray jeans and I absolutely love them. And yes, it is totally worth the splurge, as the cheaper pairs just stretch out or don't hold up over time. I got these, with little ankle zips and get compliments wherever I go!

(p.s.- I got them when you announced ShopBop's big sale, so thank you!)

I've found that the best colors to invest in are those grays and light browns too because they are neutrals that go with everything. Yours look great!

I love AG Jeans as well. Grey jeans are super classic and can be mixed and matched with so many different styles.

I love these Grey Jeans from Shopbop! Best part is that they're on sale :)

I'd love for you to do a post on your "nursing-friendly" wardrobe with recommendations on essentials to buy. My little guy is three weeks old and we spend most of our time in our house so I can lounge around in pjs and no bra, but we hope to get out of the house more and I am at a loss for what to wear that is good for breastfeeding while out and about if necessary. I thought I would wear only button down tops, but I've learned that wrestling buttons while holding a hungry baby is not a fun task.

I was so excited to respond to this post that I threw my toast aside. I recently found some awesome jeans and have been shouting them from the rooftops - American Eagle! I wouldn't have thought something so cheap could look so flattering, but their 'high waist skinny' is amazing - it's more of a medium waist with just enough stretch that you can go a size down and feel like everything is being 'held in'.

Amazing. Seriously. And their regular price is only something like $30!

Grey jeans are such a cool fall trend. And grey STRETCHY jeans sounds like the jackpot to me!

My favorite jeans (I have in grey and dark blue wash) were only $10 at H&M. They're stretchy and wonderful and I wear them to death! They're probably at $.01/wear and they make my butt look FAB!

How is the sizing on these jeans? Im not sure if I should get a 27 or 28?

AG and J Brand make the best skinny jeans. I totally agree with you about spending money on jeans to wear everyday. I even got my husband buying Sevens and AG. At first he was aghast but now he prances around our place sighing, "these are just such great jeans!" haha. Love the ones you linked to!

Have been loving wearing $20 grey Super Skinny Super Low jeans from H&M + black Everlane U T-shirt + gold Stella & Dot Rebel pendant! Have been finding the grey of these jeans to be such a great neutral - pairs so easily with everything, including bold colors.

J.Crew is nothing new, but since having kids I have found their midrise toothpick or midrise matchstick styles to be amazing. I am so not a fan of low rise with all the bending down and on the floor playing I do with my kids, and midrise sits nicely up by the belly button. Best ever!

I just bought my first pairs of skinny jeans and leggings ever. Oddly, a shot of Mindy Kaling in leggings motivated me. We are the same size (8) and I always figured my legs were too chunky for this look. Old Navy skinnies fit perfect, and you can't beat the price ($25). I look fine!

I like these too!

AG jeans fit amazing! Sometimes blue denim and get a tad boring.. I love wearing gray and black denim during the fall.

I do too - I don't understand paying a lot for jeans (trends/cuts go in and out of style, and they're made of the same material, so....)

sumslay said...

....that being said, buy what you feel good in! Another thing I love about AE jeans is that they also come in Long. Hallelujah!

I'm definitely loving that nail color! And those jeans are fabulous! If only I had the money for another pair :)

Ha! I love AE because they come in short. ;)

I don't mind paying $100 for a pair of jeans if they are the perfect fit and exactly what I want, but it's often hard to tell if it's perfect until after they've had several washes. Since having kids I also need a lot more support around the midsection and I find some of the more expensive brands don't seem to cater for that.
Many brands (AG included) go on sale regularly so you can snap up a fancy pair at a cheaper price.

AG jeans are my favorite! They are worth the price--so comfy! Also, you always look so put together. IN the words of Angela Chase, "You are so beautiful it hurts to look at you." :)

I work at Jcrew and got a light grey pair this summer, loved them and wore them all the time. I MUST get a dark grey pair for winter! I am petite and it is so hard for me to find pants, the search is on!

Catherine said...

NosyRosie (or anyone else that can help) are they true to size? I always wear a 26", so would it be safe to order a 26" pair of AG jeans?

Everytime I go to NYC, I got to Woodbury outlets and get 2 or 3 pairs of AG Jeans, the best in my opinion! Even their skinny cut makes my thighs look good, and that is no small task!
They're unheard of on this side of the ocean!

JCrew jeans are my absolutely favorite. Every time I put them on I always say they are the best thing I've ever bought. They are crazy comfortable, hugely flattering, and just make me feel good. Highly recommend!

As I am nearing my 30s I find myself straying away from most "mall" stores that I used to shop at, in order to keep myself from looking like I belong in high school. However, I still stand religiously by American Eagle's jeans. There are some pairs I have that I have worn for 3-4 years before tossing them, and they are so comfortable too! These AG jeans do look fantastic though, and on you especially! Of course I visit the site and pick the pair that's $238! Oh, the life of a suburban New Jersey-ian.

Athleta Bettona line is the best! You can dress them up or down and even wear them to work out in. And Athleta has a love them or return policy any time which is unheard of. I end up getting a lot of my work out staples and everyday clothes from them and they have great sales too!

I just bought a black mini from Joe Fresh that I've been wearing non-stop. Never thought I'd be wearing a mini in my late 30s but I love it!

p.s. I've also been digging a pair of grey Pilcro jeans I got from Anthro.

Grey jeans are so great because they so with so many different color tones. And I do have to agree that jeans can last for years, so why not put in a little extra cash in for them.

I got my first pair of AG jeans at Anthro a couple years ago at the Black Friday sale--for 50 bucks!! They are my favorite pair...they fit like a dream. I'm going to be investing in a new pair soon...AG rocks!

I have ONE pair of J.Crew jeans that I spent +100 dollars on (I think they're the Matchsticks). I've found that I can only wear them one time before the waist/butt area is completely stretched out and saggy (NOT a good look). Anyone else have this problem with J.Crew jeans? Does this happen with the AG's?

shannon9585 said...

....Once I wash them they "tighten" up again, but by the end of the day after wearing them once, they're all stretched out.

thehudspeths said...

I bought a pair for my birthday because they made my still recovering from my second child body look and feel so good! I couldn't leave the store without them! I'd wear them everyday if I could get away with wearing kid goop all the time!

PS. Your little ones are roughly the same age as mine so I love reading your blog! I secretly hope that one day Toby and Evelyn meet ;) (and maybe form a band??! ha).
