Have a great weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? We'll be unpacking our new apartment and exploring the new neighborhood. Do you have any recommendations for Tribeca? (This awesome bike store is just a few blocks away!) Hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun posts from around the web...

Clever collar upgrade.

Dinner for one.

Larry David's tips for dealing with people.

A beautiful way to do eyeliner.

Childbirth is an extreme sport. Made me teary.

Five sad desk lunches.

21 habits of supremely happy people.

This moonwalk tutorial (scroll down) made me laugh out loud.

Great idea: Avocado pasta!

Cute corduroys for crisp fall days.

The sweetest, sweetest book.
This guy's a little jokester. (Btw, I know every photo I take of Anton is on my legs, but we spend a lot of time post-breastfeeding just hanging.)

Have a good one! xo

If you like Dark and Stormies, the ones at Smith & Mills on Moore are incredible! Tons of fresh grated ginger.

I loved the article about habits of happy people, thanks for sharing!

This weekend I'm planning to go through our holiday pictures from Capri and Isle of Skye and reminisce about the summer. Autumn is in full swing in Scotland!

Kaffe 1669 at Greenwich and Beach st. is incredible for coffee and they project movies onto the wall on cold winter days! I also agree that smith and mills is by far the best bar in the neighborhood and their sister restaurant, Tiny's is amazing for brunch. Also, my best kept Tribeca secret is a juice bar in the back of a bodega (called Tribeca Deli) on Greenwich, they have ridiculously cheap freshly made juice!
love your blog

OMG Anton is edible! He is sooo cute! I lived in Tribeca in the early nineties...one grocery store ( food emporium ), one gym ( can't remember the name ) and Bobby D's cool restaurant. I was on Greenwich Street across form the elementary school. LOVED it! Enjoy your new home!

Laughing Man at 184 Duane St has great coffee and a interesting tea selection and Zucker's at 146 Chambers has the best bagels in the neighborhood! I agree Tiny's is amazing- be sure to ask for the table in the back by the fire place. Check out Petite Abeille on Wed nights for all you can eat mussels and fries for $27.

Spice Market is a really delicious restaurant - technically it's in the Meatpacking District, but close enough, right? Delicious Asian food and cocktails!

Fries and bourbon are the happiest lunch I can think of with the exception of fried clams and a vanilla shake.

Tribeca is an urban utopia, hope you love it as much as we did. Three favorites for casual food/drink: 1. people, baby & dog watch with a glass of wine and the world's best breadsticks sitting outside ROC. 2. Brunch at Locanda Verde (ricotta toast & rich hot chocolate are delicious) 3. Marc Forgione, brunch or dinner, fantastic food.

Both you (legs) and Anton (rolls) are looking wonderfully fine. Have a great weekend in the new 'hood!

I used to work at The Harrison. It's a great, family friendly or date friendly restaurant. They serve brunch now, too.

Hmm, that avocado pasta is amazing. Can't believe I never thought to do that. So relate to the Larry David sensibility. Oh dear, I'm a grumpy older gentleman. But only in my head.

I probably have a few dozen photos like this one. My hubs and I would call this the "mommy lounger". It was so fun to have our son just lounge out post-nursing or in between switching sides in this position. It's where I got the most smiles in those first few months.

Omg that bottom photo! What a cutie! One of my favorite pizza restaurants in Tribeca is American Flatbread. It's not as cozy as it's Vermont counterpart that I first fell in love with but it's pizza is still great!

Welcome to TriBeCa! It's a great neighborhood for kids (and their parents). I grew up here back when it was pretty empty and am now raising my baby girl here.
Be sure to check out Playgarden (great indoor playspace), Koh's Kids on Greenwich St. for amazingly cute baby and kids clothes, and the playground at the N.Moore St. Pier. Also the Battery Park Library has a great story time on tuesdays and thursdays but be sure to get there early. Better to wear your baby instead of bringing the stroller to guarantee a spot.
As far as stuff for grownups The Harrison, Tiny's, Marc Forgione and Super Linda are all favorite dinner spots. On Sunday and Monday nights until early October The Hideaway on Duane St. does Blue Crab Nights which are delicious and fun!
For some pampering be sure to check out tenoverten on Reade St. for amazing mani/pedis and Euphoria Spa on Harrison for massages and facials.
There is so much more but those are my top picks. Enjoy!

Haha, all my pictures of my daughter from that age are of her either on my legs or her dad's legs. Now she's a wriggly 11 month old - I can hardly even remember the days when she held still (she started walking right at 9 months! Eek!). Miss those days...

So many favorites in Tribeca...Edwards for a low key date night, burgers and champagne; Kitchenette for cozy family brunch; Locanda Verde for Italian family style and fun; and Landmarc for any time. Stone Street nearby Wall St. is a wonderful cobblestone street, an historic preservation that is a real downtown treasure. In fact today they are celebrating the 10th year of their oyster festival. Enjoy!

Welcome to the hood! Takahachi Bakery and Takahachi Restaurant on Duane is awesome. (They use real crabmeat for their california rolls). Marc Forgione is the best for a fancy date night out and for sunday brunch! Bike shop on reade street is fancy for there's a bike shop on west broadway which is very helpful. Maxdelivery.com is the best for late night or early morning or anytime deliveries within an hour (super helpful for me or you with young kids) when you can't go out to get stuff. StrongHealthyWoman.com is the best for group all women workout at 5:30am at battery park to get back into shape. Downtown Dance Factory is super fun for kids and adults. Super soccer stars is at PS89 on weekends. Pier 25 is the best for kids playground and mini golf and Blue Marble Ice Cream! Tribeca Tranquility Spa is a good bargain for a good body scrub and massage. We love this neighborhood! For xmas trees Morrgan's is good on price for trees and they deliver. (Greenwich Street for xmas trees is $$$$$$). There's so much more!
