Have a great weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? We're heading to our friend's house in the suburbs. They'll be out of town this weekend, so they're letting us escape from our tiny apartment and spread out at their house—with a backyard! We're taking these balloon rockets (which actually shoot above trees) and (overzealously) ordered a kiddie pool. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun links from around the web...

Just Jack laughing.

Smart tip: How to keep herbs fresh.

Parties we should have instead of weddings.

England now has a Colin Firth statue.

Science tells us how to build a better pie.

Sky art.

What a great shirt. I think it will be my first post-maternity purchase!

Lesson from Martha Stewart: Don't give a damn.

Clever jars.

Cute sandals under $50. Also, these.

Plus, three past posts you may have missed:
* Banana bites.
* Museum touch tours.
* Vintage ad sexism.

Have a good one!

I love the Martha Stewart article--I had seen it before but forgotten about it, and it was interesting to revisit in light of the Paula Deen news lately (different situations, I know, but quite a contrast in the handling).

That is a great tip for the herbs. It works really well except it kind of takes up a ton of room in the refrigerator.

Something about the simplicity of the kiddie pool, and yet how elusive it is to city families, makes it the ultimate overzealous internet purchase! How could you regret that one? I don't know if you're going to just do less posting, but I think it's smart not to volley us with guest posts right away like you're doing. : )

A gorgeous pic of you and Anton - have a wonderful second weekend together!! And that chambray shirt should absolutely be a little treat for yourself - it looks just like you and you've completely earned it! (Also, washable! effortless! Therefore meets the major criteria of new mommy fashion, plus chic :)

Though I'm having a small wedding no matter what, I totally appreciate the parties article. I can't really relate to most of them, but the Moving Out of Mom's Basement and the College Loan Final Repayment party should become part of culture nowadays. All of us are broke and move back in with our parents after college :/

PS- Congrats! xoxo

I definitely think we should reconsider party ideas! I don't want to seem like a gift hound, but I just wish some occasions were better celebrated!
