Have a wonderful weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? This afternoon, Alex, Toby and I are off to San Francisco. Thank you so much for the AMAZING tips!!!! (Personally, I can't wait to take Toby to Smitten ice cream. Their current flavors of the day are rhubarb crisp and salted caramel—YUM.) I'll be posting next week, and let's also talk about meditation when we get back. That stuff works. Hope you have a great weekend, and here are a few fun links from around the web, if you're in a blog-reading mood...

People who are really nailing this parenting thing. Made me laugh.

Love this nail polish for summer.

This book looks awesome!

What a powerful photo series.

New York neighborhoods around the world.

A real German breakfast.

Cycles of life.

A half-birthday cake!

Cool idea: Drawing on photos.

22 amazing places you didn't know existed.

Green kitchen floor.

What a wonderful way to honor your mom.

Breaking news: Babies eat food.

On that note, I'm going to this intriguing Murray's Cheese class on May 19th, if anyone else would like to join! xoxo And the ASOS discount code works all weekend, if you're in a shopping mood:)

Ok this is weird, I'm Canadian and I know the girl in the 'people nailing parenting' #13 Tahra Dactyl! She's a friend of a friend.

I would love to attend the Nina Planck talk at Murray's -- alas, I'm too far away. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

So glad you're headed to smitten... the girl (I guess we're adults?!) who designs the menu each week graduated from UofMichigan the same year as us! Robyn was a business consultant and hated it, so went back to school to be a pastry chef. :) Have a fun trip!

I just went to Smitten yesterday for the first tie with my team (we work a couple blocks away, at Twitter) and it was delicious! I had vanilla with brown sugar caramel topping and it was just perfect - it was the best vanilla ice cream I've had in a long time. There's a cute beer garden right across the street too (not for this trip I guess but definitely worth checking out!)

I am lucky enough to know the talented Haley Morris-Cafiero, and to have attended the institution at which she teaches, The Memphis College of Art. Once, she even told me a photo series of mine was impressive! Thank you, thank you, thank you for featuring the work of this artist. I follow your blog everyday, and it warms my heart that you have noticed the great work coming out of Memphis. Have a Wonderful weekend!

Good call on Smitten; I go there nearly every time I'm in Hayes Valley to see the ballet or the symphony. Watching the liquid nitrogen "smoke" out is a trip.

babies DO eat food! we did baby led weaning with our 1 year old daughter and it's worked brilliantly! we never fed her a drop of pureed food or packaged baby food. i don't know if it's related - and everything could change when she turns 2 (or 3, or 4) - but she has very adventuresome tastes and the girl LOVES sauteed kale. CRIES for it.

I'm totally using that mother's day link!! My mom never wants me to buy her anything, but she always loves when I give to a good cause in her name. This is perfect!

For the NYC neighborhoods around the world: the author said that NoPa neighborhood in San Francisco is named after the restaurant NOPA. (BTW, if you are still in SF, you should go to NOPA and get the burger). However, NoPa (the neighborhood) stands for North of the Panhandle. As in panhandle of golden gate park. Which is ALSO what the restaurant NOPA is named after. rant over.
