What are your plans for this weekend? This week was too crazy, so I'm looking forward to just vegging with my boys (and maybe having shrimp and grits for lunch). Also, Alex recently got this helicopter to fly around the living room, and it's pretty much the best thing that has happened in Toby's short life. Hope you have a good relaxing weekend, and here are a few fun links from around the web...After this week, these pencils seem fitting:)
Pastel jeans would be so cute for spring.
Can you really make espresso in the microwave?
Grown-up popsicles.
A cool approach to decorating.
We talked about work/life balance, and here's another woman's compelling perspective.
A cheerful Chicago kitchen.
Guys paper dolls.
New York can feel like such a small town. I randomly met this dude at a children's museum this week!
Where to sit at a dinner party.
Lovely branches.
Another fun nail color.
Children around the world with their favorite toys.
The Bachelor is officially popular.

Holy shit, the toy stories link is SO INTERESTING
ReplyDeleteOh that helicopter! We bought one for my sister in law's boyfriend for Christmas, and my husband loved it so much that that same day he bought himself one, and the next week, another one, and his dad also bought two. So, between the 3 of them, they have 5 of these things! All different, of course...boys will be boys.
ReplyDeletehappy weekend! I love this pic and the girl's outfit!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Jo! Here's to the end of a crapola week!
ReplyDeletep.s I read that work-life article at the weekend. It blew me away
The boy in the picture is the singer of a french band called "les BB Brunes"

Have a nice weekend! =)
that's what I was thinking!
DeleteI wasn't sure, thanks!
the dinner party seating thing made me laugh. my dad's got a very jovial ex-pat friend called kevin browne, we refer to the best seat at a table as 'the kevin browne' seat; in the middle, maximum opportunity to talk and flirt while awkward to access, rendering you unable to assist with any dull serving duties!

ReplyDeleteI'm making those fig & sour cream popsicles ASAP...
ReplyDeleteHaaha, I love the link that leads to the dramatic reading of a yelp review. Totally hilarious! Thank you for the laugh today :)
ReplyDeleteThat little boy from Malawi in the Children's Toys photo journal melts my heart. I love his two little stuffed dogs and his dinosaur. I'm not sure why it's so moving to me, but it just is so perfect.
ReplyDeletehahaha, my husband has the exact same helicopter! It's quite a bit of fun for not a lot of money =)
ReplyDeleteAt first glance I found that couple to look completely insufferable and annoying (I mean, look at how his scarf is tied!), once I realized, however, that they were French, I was like, "They look so cute!" :)
ReplyDeletewhat a great work/ life NY Times article. I hope a lot of young women read it so that they don't feel like they have to work 100 hour weeks and set a norm for what we all have to work in order to advance in our careers. ppl just feel like they are so replaceable and that if they work so many hours they are contributing something that an employer cannot find anywhere else, making it difficult for others to do anything differently than what the employer is used to. sigh
ReplyDeletehappy weekend to you too!
ReplyDeletei found this sweet taxi app today and thought it was the kind of thing that i'd usually find on your blog! thought i'd share: http://suzykrauseandtheskyscrapers.blogspot.ca/2013/03/hailo.html

ReplyDeleteI grew up with huge pussy willows in our backyard. My mother would snip branches for me to bring for teachers and my dad's office mates. They so much remind me of childhood & how much I loved touching the the branches. I'm all for branches in the home.

I was in NYC for the past week visiting friends and as a KY girl, found myself craving some soul food. We went to Amy Ruth's in Harlem and I now I just have to tell everyone how delicious it was. Chicken & waffles, sweet tea, and even entrees called the "President Barack Obama" and the "Al Roker". I highly suggest checking it out if you ever have the time!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to compare the toys and how kids live all over the world. Imagine having one toy...Americans could hardly imagine it! Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat small world just got smaller! I know that actor you met too! He worked on a show with me in Chicago last fall and is an alumni of my college.
ReplyDeletegreat and sexy
