ReplyDeleteThe Bay Bridge light installation looks fantastic! Even more reason to head down to SF soon.
ReplyDeleteSpite housing. Is that sorta like what George Lucas is doing to his Marin neighbors? http://money.cnn.com/2012/05/16/real_estate/george-lucas-housing/index.htm
ReplyDeleteYou too! ♥ your blog!
ReplyDeleteCute pic!
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think I'm interested in Pippa Middleton's book. Kate - now she's an interesting story.

I am a few weeks behind you and would love to give myself a little color as spring approaches!! Also loved your recent post on Vermont travel. Would love to plan that road trip after baby #2 is born.

I'm a firm believer in alone together time. My boyfriend and I have been living together for the past 2 1/2 years and he works from home (musician/artist), meaning that he's there A LOT of the time when I am. Finding ways to get alone time has been so crucial to getting the time we each need to decompress and find our own space. I loved the BCC article and promptly forwarded on to him. Thanks so much for sharing.

What a great idea! Surrounding a window with bookshelves. Since they are so simple, it looks so lovely and refreshing. I just uploaded some living room photos on my blog this last week, but I may have to consider the idea of the bookshelf like that one elsewhere in my home. Love it!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Katie
I love Gretchen and her books, so jealous! also that article about being along together is great. Thanks for sharing. Happy Friday.

ReplyDeleteThe Pippa Middleton book has been so mocked over here in the UK. Last week she became the face of an upmarket supermarket and it started all over again... The book is rather pretty, but I'm not sure about the DIYs and advice... especially with Pinterest around.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend :)
Aww your life looks so lovely and cozy! very happy for you xx
ReplyDeleteThe goats. Oh the goats! And the people yelling like goats yelling like people! You had me rolling. I think you just made my weekend. Thank you for the friday link love, motherhood monday's and best ever recipe series. The variety is fantastic and on point.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congrats on the bump! Stay strong...we didn't find out the sex either. It's a blast and helps motivate during labor. Promise.
Our leadership needs Babauta's advice about spending less than we make. A balanced budget is indeed a gift to our children.
ReplyDeleteThat short-term memory loss letter is fantastic- especially the last note. It made me chuckle and spit out just a bit of my coffee. What an awesome friend.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Leo Babauta's advice to his children. Spot on. I am thankful I have a father who, to this day, tells me the same things.
Enjoy a lovely weekend, Joanna!
p.s. another adorable family photo♥
Love the letter. Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThis weekend will be spent cleaning house and getting the chicken coop ready so that I can get the smelly chicks out of my kitchen one day. LOL. In the process of becoming more self sufficient in the city and it is fun and exhausting with 3 kids under the age of 5. Thankfully blogging about it along the way is helping me stay on track and be true to my values.
ReplyDeleteOh I so wish I could be in NYC for that grilled cheese competition!

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI just have to say: I am about to sell my appartement in Bergen, Norway. Before moving out, I'll be renting out my bedroom - and I recommend you or anyone to come, if only for a short nordic break. The weather is beautiful, people are smiling in the streets, and the coffees at the two cafes (pretty hip à la culture norvégienne) in the neighbourhood tastes better than ever.
Getting nostalgic as im leaving, so really, if you have the possibility to come, do it now!
(those were my thoughts this weekend. just need to try to share the norwegian beauty somewhere!)
Please check out my blog: KatieKCouture.blogspot.com :) thank you so much!!
ReplyDeleteThe memory loss letter was written in our city. They interviewed both girls {she is now mostly fine} and they were just amazed that it had gone viral.
ReplyDeleteDarn you for telling me about the Grilled Cheese Competition!!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend.
I love the zenhabit reference. Thank you! :)
ReplyDeletecan i be a taster in the grilled cheese competition? and i think i may have to print out Leo Babauta's advice to his children and save it for when my little guy is grown. thanks for the link!

ReplyDeletePlease don't anyone buy the Pippa Middleton book. Unless of course you need such outstanding tips such as 'how about eating turkey on Christmas day' and 'a fun game for children at Easter is hiding eggs in the garden'.
ReplyDeleteReally Pippa? Really?!
I just cannot get over those goat videos - the perfect remedy for a bad mood!
