HATCH spring collection!

My friend Ariane designs HATCH, the beautiful maternity brand, so when she invited me to her showroom to try on some new spring pieces, I jumped at the chance! Last week, I rode my trusty bike to Soho and arrived ready to play dress up. Here are a few photos...
First we browsed through all the pretty clothes. (You can see the full spring collection here.)
The whole point of HATCH is that you can wear the clothes before, during and after pregnancy—so we both tried on some pieces. Ariane wore the jumper, and I wore the dinner party dress.
Next we both tried on the sweatshirt dress, which was insanely comfortable. It felt like wearing a blanket.
And I completely fell in love with these everyday pants, which would be perfect all spring and summer. I wore them with this v-neck tee, and Ariane wore the weekend short and button down.
I also threw on the cape, just to feel French.
It was such a fun girly afternoon. Aren't her clothes beautiful? You can see the rest of the spring collection (on actual models) in HATCH's online shop. Thank you again for having me, Ariane!

P.S. Pregnancy survival guide.

(Photos by Alpha Smoot for Cup of Jo. Update: My brown boots and green booties are from Loeffler Randall; my leopard flats were from GAP; they're sold out, but here's a very similar pair. Thanks for asking!)

It's great to see these on a real person! I can't wait to be pregnant just to splurge on one of their silk dresses.

Nice clothes! That sweatshirt dress really does look perfect. So neat to see things that can be worn regardless of pregnancy.

Anathalia, you can definitely wear them when you're not pregnant. ariane designed them to be flowing and beautiful, so they fit no matter what size your belly is.

the clothes are so ridiculously expensive. it might make you more relatable to at least comment on that.

First of all, you look stunning! And second of all: those clothes are amazing and even though I'm not even pregnant I would buy them and wear them because I've eaten too many chocolates lately and I look like I'm pregnant with triplets... ;-)

I agree @odette. These pieces are beautiful and certainly wearable even post-pregnancy (and Jo they look FABULOUS on you!) but $238 for a sweatshirt dress seems crazy!!

Ironically I just read an article on how uncomfortable Kim Kardashian looks to the world pregnant because she is not wearing any maternity wear...These clothes are very pretty very girly and look so comfortable!!! I'm not pregnant but if I bought that sweatshirt dress I probably would wear it out in a month because i'd wear it so much! =)

What a cool designer to know! Though I can't afford the line (and narrowly missed the sample sale, darn it) I've been so impressed with the materials she uses--almost all 100% silk. Investment pieces like this should be built on great fabric that will last.
I think my favorite are the polka dot shorts she's wearing.

How cute are the polka dot pants! Yes, impressive material. Silk must feels so good.

Hatch T's in black and stripe carried me through my second PG and beyond. The T's are drapey and so awesome for nursing - the extra fabric drapes over your torso so no unwanted belly flashing.

I'm not a fan of the outfit in the first pic. At all. But the white dress is very cute and u are glowing :)

you are adorable! i have been loving everything that hatch has been doing - i hated pregnancy clothes and often wore regular stuff that allowed room for my belly. because i hardly bought any clothes with my first pregnancy i have promised myself to splurge on some hatch items next time!

Lizzie Polish said...

The white dress is cute but I could never get behind the idea of wearing a tent when you're pregnant (or really when you're not pregnant either). You're already huge, why wear something to make yourself look bigger? BTW, you've really popped and you look so happy. Such an exciting time!

Hatch designs are so cute! I love the shorts and pants. That was the hardest thing to find when I was pregnant, cute, well-fitted bottoms. I'll have to try Hatch for the next pregnancy (#3!!).

I LOVE HATCH! The pieces are all so simple and chic. Sadly I did not find it until I was almost done with my pregnancy. I've been stalking a few pieces just to wear, the sweatshirt dress being one of them. I'm in love with it in the gray color.

the clothes are cute but even if i could wear them before, during and after i wouldn't spend that much on something (especially something that doesn't fit properly). i'd look like a ragamuffin going to work like that.

You look so very stunning, Ms Jo - and I like many others would wear these clothes even though i am not pregnant and don't plan to be! They look so comfy and are flatteringly feminine. You're in fantastic shape! ;)

I just got a beautiful hatch dress in grey from gilt, am sitting in it at home now because it's so comfortable. I'm also due in July and this will be perfect for my expanding belly!

i love your belly! so cute! mine popped last week too all of a sudden! ( and I am 3 days apart on the due date with you :))
About hatch - i love their collections, but so not as impressed with spring as I thought I would be... In all honesty, as comfy as the pants may be, an elastic band is such a "no" for me... I was hoping for something LESS pregnant-obvious, as they did before. I loved the leggings and other pants they've done in the past. So, not sure about this one, but looking forward to a new release in April! :) Pregnancy suits you so well! :)

Do you know who makes the high heeled brown sandals that Ariane is wearing with the blue jumper?

Ashley O'Connor said...

How do they fit? I'm a pre-pregnancy size 8, and can't decide whether to get a size 1 or size 2. I just ordered a shirt and a dress from there in a size 2, but I'm scared they are both going to be tents.
