Old Navy has really cute stuff, and right now they're having a huge kids and baby sale. Everything is up to 40% off, which (obviously) makes things super affordable. I'm looking forward to picking out sweet outfits for Toby and the baby. Check out everything here...This post is sponsored by Old Navy. Check out Old Navy’s Kidtacular Kids and Baby Sale in stores or at oldnavy.com. Thanks for supporting the sponsors that make Cup of Jo possible.

I was pleasantly surprised by Old Navy's Women's selection recently, actually. I used to think the style and fit of their clothes wasn't for me, but the other day I was in there after seeing a coworker wearing the black and white gingham LS. I ended up walking out with that and a cute plaid flannel shirt, and I'm still thinking about the inexpensive chambray shirts there.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite places to shop for my little girls!
ReplyDeleteVery affordable clothes for the whole family.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteThanks Jo for sharing! Sometimes, although the other brands and sponsors are chic, I feel like their clothes are not affordable for a lot of people (like me.) It would have been great if they gave you a pass to create a story by putting together some signature kids outfits. Old Navy and GAP have so many options!
yes, the baby! can't wait:)

I'm concerned about supporting fast and cheap fashion stores. The working conditions of the factory workers is more times than not simply appalling.
ReplyDeleteBillowy shorts over leggings is one of my absolute FAVORITE formulas for dressing my daughter lately. :) I'm going to have to get those giant polkadot leggings, no question!!!
ReplyDeleteOh...and we started watching Homeland tonight. Eeeks! Thanks for the recommendation. xo
I love Old Navy! Such cute stuff for kids for amazing prices! I don't see the logic in spending tons of money on kids clothes when you know they are just going to outgrow them. Old Navy is one of my top go to stores for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually pretty cool..

ReplyDeleteLove Old Navy for kid's wear. :) It's handy that they are owned by the same company who run Gap, Banana Republic et al, as when I shop online I can add things to my cart from all of those companies and have it all delivered in the one package.
ReplyDeleteWhen we have family visiting from Australia the first thing I do is take them to Old Navy - there is just nothing like that kind of cheap-but-decent-quality clothing in Aus.
Booorrriiinnnggg!
ReplyDeleteSorry Joanna. I know you've got to make a buck, but Old Navy should plan their sponsored posts better. There's got to have been a more creative way to have done this. I feel like I just read an ad - because I did.

DeleteAwww, that Superman shirt is so cute! xoxo
ReplyDeleteReally! Good to know!
ReplyDeleteThose baby jean shorts are adorable! My friend has a baby girl on the way, I want to get those for her now! :-)
ReplyDeleteOld Navy is my go-to source for Baguette's clothes. I'm always pleased with the quality and cuteness! I also bought tons of maternity clothes from them.
ReplyDeleteI actually loooove Old Navy! They always have super cute and stylish items for kids and on inexpensive side.

Yes, this does feel like an ad - or at least a sponsored post - which I'm okay with because I love that you're able to make this a full-time job. If it were just a hobby, the posts wouldn't be nearly as high-quality. So keep it up! Sell away! If you can figure out a way to make money off the blog then more power to you. xoxo

ReplyDeleteCute clothes - especially those little polka dot baby leggings!
ReplyDeleteSorry too much advertising Jo! Come on - its just boring, to in your face and like flicking through 10 pages of adverts at the start of a magazine. Like who still buys magazines anyway, I think your going down the wrong route. Wheres more of your creative and real feel gone?
ReplyDeleteThe blog just feels too planned and full of advertising lately. Maybe it's more lucrative but it seems contrived and I'm finding myself utterly bored and turned off by a lot of the content. And I've been reading FOR YEARS - is this really the direction you're going? Makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree. I have no problem with Old Navy (pretty much my entire preggo wardrobe came from there and cheap kids clothes) but it is ALL the sponsored posts. I thought the sponsored kiss was the WORST, but every time I click on the blog it is some new sponsored post.
DeleteI disagree with some of the critiques. I appreciated that this advertisement *looked like* an advertisement. It wasn't a pseudo-personal marketing attempt. I value how upfront this one was. Thank you, Joanna.
ReplyDeleteI wish they made those girls' blue polka dot pants in adult sizes!
I agree! If I were a momma, I would definitely want to know when baby clothes were on sale, and I would want to know what Joanna Goddard thinks is cute!! This post wasn't some long-winded advertisement. She was just letting us know about a sale, and let us know that Old Navy was sponsoring the post.
DeleteEveryone needs to relax just a liiiiiittle bit.
Agreed :)

Those spot leggings are too cute! And I don't mind the sponsored posts at all - as long as their clearly marked as such. It's good to know these things. Keep going as you are Joanna - love your blog. x

I kind of resent the idea that boys get to run around in superman t-shirts, green pants and a cool denim top while girls have to wear pink dresses. IDK, my parents did that to me when I was a kid and I hated it. It still happens (like when I went to buy my iPod a few years back and the salesman said I needed to get a pink iPod because I was a girl.)
ReplyDeleteI just did a big shop there last week. Old Navy is great for getting the basics at really cheap prices. I like to shop in the little boy section for my daughter as well as the girlie stuff to give her a more androgynous look. I think it's adorable on babies.

Best place for kids ever! I just did a huge order for my sister and nephews as well as some really cute maternity dresses for her, have you cheked those out?
ReplyDeleteOld Navy offers fair pricing and cute design. However, I really don't like its quality. Most of my clothes shrunk with just a couple of washes :O(
ReplyDeleteCommenting not to be rude but only in case you'd like the feedback. I have limited time to read blogs and about 3 years ago I fell in love with yours. Since then it's become first in my daily blog reads - your blog is a daily "can't miss" or if I do have to miss a "catch up on the weekend" blog. I've enjoyed your work and commend you on your success.
ReplyDeleteThat being said this Old Navy ad/sponsored post seems very out of place here because it's mainstream and "cheap"- two qualities that I think this blog is not. I can understand the need to appeal to a wide socio-economic audience for somethings but not a blog as niche and stylish and tasteful as yours. Over the years you have posted about inexpensive things (nail polish or a song to download) as well as more lavish things (vacations or dresses on shop bob) and always walked the line perfectly - never entering "cheap" territory - but I'm sad to say I think you did today. This Old Navy post was a walk on the wrong side of that fine line.
I also understand the need to have sponsored posts. And up until today I think you've been picking and choosing which companies and products that follow the whole model of this blog very well. I'm not recommending you do away with sponsored posts. Just maybe stick to the ones where your heart is "in it" so we don't walk away feeling you sold out - and didn't remain true to yourself and your vision.
Yes! I was trying to find the words to describe this. It's kind of like reading your favorite magazine and seeing those cheap ads in the back. I don't think people are saying to do away with ads or sponsored posts but I think there IS a way to do it in a "classy" way. To keep up with the aesthetic.
Deletei am a daily reader...and i girl living on a limited budget. i strongly commend you for posting this. i also think readers who are "disappointed" need to take a minute and live in the reality of today. making a blog accessible to everyone from a single working mother to one who doesn't have to think of a budget is a challenge but one i think you did beautifully. i also think it shows that there is room for everyone at the table. thanks for posting and be encouraged...
ReplyDeleteHad to chime in! I appreciate the appeal to a wider audience as well, and often chuckle when I see the complaints about sponsored posts. Your readers know that this blog is your full-time job, and that most people have been going through tough time financially. I like that this point isn't one where I look wistfully and then click away, knowing I could never afford that beautiful thing I'm admiring. Thanks, Joanna!
ReplyDeleteLovely kids collection is this? I want to collect also for my niece. Thanks for sharing!
