Have a lovely weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? I'm catching up with a long-lost friend tonight, and tomorrow we're hoping to take Toby to see children's book author Mo Willems read at the MoMA store! What about you? If you're in a blog-reading mood, here are a few fun posts from around the web...

A song for your weekend.

Colorblock dress for the spring.

A furry friend.

Did you know about this street on the Upper West Side?

10 bizarre professions you didn't know existed.

Who wants to whip up a batch of these?

Ahoy tattoos.

A virtual tour of the Grand Canyon.

Is this art?

Lamb sliders.

Hair crush: the middle part.

Made me laugh.

Food valentines.

Johnny Cash gets his own postage stamp.

This wedding book looks good.

FYI, The Honest Company, which makes our favorite natural diapers, wipes, lotion, shampoo, soap, etc., is offering free shipping with the code JoFreeShip3, until February 11th. xoxo

You know....I majored in art history and so I feel kind of like a tool saying this, but NOPE! not art. This person was right to compare him to creepy Joseph Beuys.

That wedding book does look good! The hardest part of planning my wedding was having to choose a style/theme, and realizing I couldn't include everything I'd seen on Pinterest :) Mine was pretty classic, which was perfect for us (traditional, but with a romantic feel; we termed it "romantic whimsy"), but I hope I have a lot of daughters so I can plan all the weddings I didn't have!

What a special weekend! I catalog children's books at a library, and always enjoy Mo Willems' offerings! Also, have fun with your friend. I've been thinking a lot about long-lost friends lately.

Mo Willems! My workplace celebrates Elephant & Piggie's Friendiversary every year. Elephant or pig ears on everyone. He has got to be awesome in person - have fun!

I love Pomander Walk! It really does feel very European--I was lucky enough to walk through it several years ago, when a resident was kind enough to let us in the gates.

That little Mateo seems like such a sweet boy. I've seen some of those photos on Pinterest and they make my heart burst. I bet Toby is a gentle soul like him.

And I'd seriously, no kidding, without a hint of jest, vote Tina Fey and Amy Poehler into office.

Happy weekend!

Ah, Mo is my neighbor and, I think, not a particularly nice person. But I'm sure the reading will be fun all the same:)

I hope you get to see Mo! He came to a museum near our house a few years ago and was delightful! My daughter (5 at the time) loved meeting him.

I always joke that my "literary crush" is Mo Willems (Pigeon won our mock presidential election this year, and I'm pretty sure it was because the Hot Dog Party was more tenacious than the Troublemaker Party Bad Kitty was running on...but I digress). I was interviewed by him one year after my team won the ALA book cart drill competition; it's been one of the highlights of my library career.

Have an awesome time!

I had a whole class in University in contemporary art which focused on trying to answer that question... "Is this art?"or 'What is art?" Be happy to know that after the full semester, we came to the conclusion there is no definitive answer. Ha! My answer? Does it evoke emotion? Then yes, it's art!

I once heard a grade 8 teacher read Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! to 14 year olds at an inner city school. They were so enthralled that you would have thought they were reading The Hunger Games.
