What are you up to this weekend? First off, thank you again for the sweet response to our baby news. We're so excited. I can't wait to talk about pregnancy and babies, and, funnily enough, I feel like I have a surprising number of questions the second time around! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few fun links from around the web... Mini deep dish pizzas would be cute for a party.
The NYTimes gives the second season of Girls a thumbs up.
LOVE this peek of neon.
Cooking for one.
Will you be watching the Golden Globes? Tina Fey and Amy Poehler wrote a drinking game.
Good to remember.
How hot dogs are made. (Oh. My. God.)
What a lovely nursery.
Sweetest short wedding dress.
We've talked about vibrators, and this new one looks cool.
Breast pumps covered by insurance? Bravo.
Good news: Shopbop is having a huge sale.
And I'm excited to shop for maternity clothes:)

I can't stop watching that Hot dog video.....O...M....G!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, Joanna! Congrats on expecting your second baby! So exciting!! Can't wait to hear what you'll be having:)
ReplyDeleteI about to get some food standards. Oh dear:-( I don't like to be fussy about food, but my hot dog bubble is now officially burst.
ReplyDeleteBetween you and Duchess Kate, it'll be interesting to see how maternity style plays out in 2013. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a ducduc crib and changer you see in Molly Sim's nursery! Come visit us at 524 Broadway Jo! We'll help you design your own for baby #2
ReplyDeleteI don't even need to watch the hotdog video to know it will be bad... hotdogs are the worst! I often crave them but can't bring myself to eat any more after finding out years ago how bad they are for you. Plus it's so easy to make yourself one that is more delicious and better for you. :)
ReplyDeleteThe nursery is cute, but I'm not a fan of these professionally-designed nurseries. They are always too matchy and it seems to me like a nursery is something so intimate that it's odd to have a stranger design the space for you.
Congrats again on your exciting news! Loved seeing and reading about your family trip to CA. WOWSER = the hot dog video. Yikes. Also, I successfully used your relationship advice (from last winter) about meeting your spouse/significant other at the restaurant this past week. And wow - what a difference it makes. We are always running around trying to get the kids fed and ourselves changed/beautified before heading out - that meeting at the restaurant was so much more fun and exciting. So glad we made it happen. I wrote about it on my post today. Thanks, Joanna!

And PS - LOVE the pieces in the Hatch collection. Cannot wait to see some of your prego looks!
SO excited about your baby news Joanna! And thank you for the link love (I just adore that wedding). xoxo
ReplyDeleteOMG that hot dog video!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I don't think I can ever eat a hot dog again.
ReplyDeleteI clicked through to the Minna weblink and tentatively clicked on the Ola demonstration, thinking 'they wouldn't...'. Thank god it was tastefully and artfully done!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I thought the exact same thing!
Deletethat picture is Ahhhmazing.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually comment on your blog (though I read it daily!) and I just want to say that I love your weekend link lists! I am always clicking away. :) Obsessed with the dog picture on top too.
ReplyDeletexoxo
And for those not ever wanting to eat a hot dog again, that video is tame. Seriously. If you stepped foot inside a meat processing plant you would swear off ALL meat FOREVER. Gruesome.
ReplyDeletethis article is from the spring but a very interesting alternate perspective on GIRLS:

I love all your weekend lists! They're always so interesting to click through and explore the things I wouldn't have found without your blog.

All of the how stuff is made videos are equal parts gross and fascinating, ha! Again, so excited for you and your growing little family + happy weekend!

Thanks for sharing all of these, enjoyed a lot of them although I admit I was too nervous to click on the hot dog video. Great news about the breast pumps - yay Obamacare!

Fantastic links for the weekend as always!

Everyone's comments about the hot dog video have been negative so far, but it was actually way better than I expected! And am I the only one that's glad they use up the other parts of the meat so nothing goes to waste??
ReplyDeleteI love all your posts and I can't wait to see updates on your progression through pregnancy :)
It's taking all my willpower not to watch the hot dog video. I didn't even click on the link. And I'm not going to. I don't wanna know. *head in sand*

When I had Remi the nurse asked me if I worked, I said part time. The next day the dr. wrote me a prescription for the fancy backpack pump. I had only registered for the single one. I was pumped:) pun inteneded
ReplyDeleteCongrats on baby #2!! I found that baby #2 was more questions and more of a challenge than baby #1! Love your weekend blog posts and the basset hound pictured made me giggle out loud for some random reason (thanks for that!). - Nicole from insidethemindofnicole.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Congrats! :)
ReplyDeleteThe photo reminded me of my best friend's childhood dog, Jessica.
This weekend I'm spending some time with my son :)
The hot dog thing.. EW. I will never ever eat one again. Also, I think you are going to look super cute with your bump - have fun shopping! Excited to see how you do your nursery. <3
ReplyDeleteGreat list of links.. but I couldn't watch the hot dog thing, I like them too much :D Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend Joanna! We can't wait to read your journey of mom and mom-to-be! Congratulations again for the little one!

Congrats on your baby news!! I am pregnant with my first and due on July 13. You can't believe how excited I am that you'll be blogging through your pregnancy while I experience mine-- I will be reading you more religiously than ever:)
ReplyDeleteThe hot dog video is great for those looking to lose their appetite! My three-year-old's commentary during the video was great. It was a whole lot of "ew" up until the end, when she said, "they look good now." Thanks for sharing! Congrats again on the baby news!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched "Girls" but I have heard great things about it! However, with minimal time for television, I save my viewing pleasure for "Parenthood" and am pretty sure I alone have kept Kleenex in business bc I cry like a baby each episode. Hotdogs are the epitomy of grooooss! Last but not least, I will be watching the GG's, but I get entirely more excited for The Oscars. My little sister and I have brie, ballots and beers. It's amaze-balls.

Oh no! Where's the song for my weekend? :(
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how we get so used to bloggers (especially the ones who write daily) as a part of our lives?
Our friends from China were visiting and staying with us, and they brought along their cousins who came from London. So the cousin and I were discussing blogs we love and then we started talking about how we love reading Cup of Jo, Not Without Salt and started talking about so many bloggers we love or like or dislike, referring to them on a first-name-basis. And my friend was like, excuse me, but you guys KNOW these people? Well, yes and no.
Thought I'll just share this little snippet about blogging and reading blogs. Will you tell us when you know if Thomas is going to be a girl or a boy? :)

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the baby news. How exciting! This is a bit weird, I just found your site again via pinterest and landed on this post where you say that you want to try for a 2nd child (http://joannagoddard.blogspot.ca/2012/08/how-many-kids-do-you-hope-to-have.html) and then I get to your home page to find you saying you are pregnant already! Well done! ;-)
Marie
I'll be looking forward to reading your blog in the next months :-)
