Faux fur throws

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to visit our friends' cabin in Connecticut. Alex and I are usually huge wusses about winter, but, inspired by our friends, we decided to embrace it. We built roaring fires, ate French toast and bacon for breakfast, chopped wood, went cross-country skiing, threw the toddlers in the bath together, and later comforted crying kids on hikes because their hands were too cold and rushed them back to the warm car—all in all, a real country weekend:)

But the biggest surprise of the trip? Our friends' sofas were draped in these faux fur throws from Restoration Hardware, and they were soft and luxurious. We spent the weekend cuddled in them, and when we returned home on Sunday night, we immediately ordered one. I'd highly recommend them!
P.S. Love Alex's face while chopping wood!

(Photos by our friends, who are actually the designers behind Pinhole Press. Thanks, Ashley and Stefan!)

  4. What an incredible weekend.

I grew up in the most rural of areas of NJ and looking back I so miss simple times like these. Now, living in the city, they're so special and rare.

  7. What a fun weekend! There's another fabulous faux fur throw at C. Wonder right now that I just purchased and I'm obsessed with it! It was originally $128 but is on sale for $98...and another 40% off that! Worth looking into if you want to add some more fur to your lives :)

  15. What a great way to take advantage of the fun parts of winter :) I am quite weak when it comes to being cold. I'm psyching myself up to going skiing in a couple weeks (even though my favorite part of the day is leaving the slopes and stopping for pizza and beer...)

  33. Target also sells some throws.. only 25 bucks.. These are probably better quality but I have one from target that is super soft fur on one side and a luxurious velveteen on the back and I reach for it constantly from October through May!

  34. Thank you for the faux fur throw source! I got one from pier 1 about a year ago and adored it but it really didn't last too well. I washed it on gentle cycle once and its kind of gross now! Out with the old and in with the new.

This lady cannot give up on her faux fur throws!

  35. I have a faux fur throw that I use every single day in the winter! I'm in Ohio and it has been COLD lately (not today though... 60 degrees out!). I LOVE it!! My MIL gave it to us as a wedding gift and I thought it was so random and not my style, until I tried it. Instant convert! It's instantly snuggly and warm, and I am ALWAYS cold.

    ReplyDelete
  36. haha yes i love alex's face, too!

  37. how fun! not a fan of the cold either but i could definitey be seduced with fire and marshmallows.

  38. As it's 65 degrees here right now, the faux fur throw isn't appealing to me today...but ask me again in a few days when the high is going to be about 20, and I'm sure I'll be looking for one too! I decided to embrace winter more this year too, and found that I'm not as big of a wuss as I thought...in fact, I don't altogether hate winter...just driving in it. :-)

Consider buying Reebok wind pants, elastic hem, deep pockets, zipper bottom side easy to get over boots are light, and wear very well.I wear mine going to the store on cold days. They're better than thermal underwear. They slip over jeans easy (ok, pajama bottoms as well).
