Your hometown

Are you heading home for the holidays? I grew up in the Michigan suburbs, and this Saturday Night Live tourism ad for "your hometown" made me laugh out loud. (It's worth waiting through the annoying NBC ad:)

  1. I'm already home in rural Virginia! It's so lovely to be home and comfy and removed from "real life."

  2. So funny!! Love SNL.

And no... we're staying WAAAAAY over here in Boston while our family celebrates WAAAAAY over there on the West coast. And, to add insult to injury, it looks like they'll be having a white Christmas unlike the grey Christmas forecast for this part of the country.

  8. My home town is in Australia! I wish I was going there, these dark rainy days are getting me down. My Christmases usually involve BBQ's and cold salads and lots of time at the beach. Boo!

  17. I guess I'm lucky enough that all my family lives really close, so we're already "home" for Christmas. Happy travels!

  18. We totally still own that TV, haha. And we laugh that we can't update our entertainment center because they don't even make sturdy enough ones anymore.
But totally excited to not be seeing any family for Christmas!

  19. My hometown is in Indiana and I am headed that way TOMORROW! I was actually there recently to attend to a dear friend's situation. Normally, I only go home for Christmas (due to work, distance, travel costs, etc). This year I am job searching so I've gotten to go home more regularly. Blessing in disguise!

  23. I KNOW that commercial is the FUNNIEST!!!
I will be staying in my hometown, but its rather like a winter wonderland at the present. I don't think people who live where it doesn't snow heaps miss out on the absolute beauty of a snow covered wonderland. LOVE it. And the fact that it's a snow day today ;D

  28. So spot on! Especially the part about visiting the K-mart and the building where the K-mart used to be. In my hometown in East Texas the Super Wal-Mart sits directly behind the old, abandoned Wal-Mart. Gross.

  30. Arrrghh I hate that moment when the video is telling me "We're sorry, but the clip you selected isn't available from your location." and then you realize that the Internet has borders too - it really sucks, we're in 2012! Why am I French living in France?! ^^
