Rosy cheeks this fall

Remember this beautiful bride from the canoe elopement? I was really taken by her rosy cheeks, so Toby and I walked over to Sephora to see the Mata Hari blush in person. It's a beautiful mix of pink and crimson, and one great thing is that you don't need much other makeup when you have flushed cheeks. I've been pairing it with chapstick for that just-walked-inside-from-the-cold look. Do you ever wear blush? I'd definitely recommend this one...

P.S. Navy nails.

  1. She looks gorgeous.
Me? WIth my Scottish-Tilda Swinton- white skin, blush makes me look like Bozo, the Clown from the 60's.

  2. Always! I'm very pale, and growing up my mother always told me that I looked like a ghost if I didn't put on some "rouge". Couple that with my love for the blushing look, and the fact that on non-blush days people ask me if I'm feeling ill, and you'll always find me with blush on. My musts for cosmetics are foundation, blush, and mascara. All else is negotiable.

  8. Her makeup is really pretty. I want to wear blush more often, but I don't really need it so I usually skip it. It does add a special touch though!

  11. I've been thinking about this lovely bride's makeup ever since you initially posted their elopement. I was hesitant about the color given my (very) fair skin, but I've loved wearing this look.

  13. I think this is a bit much, it doesn't very look natural. The colour is lovely, but it's applied over a too big area and a bit too heavy.

I wear blush every day. Blush, chap stick and some concealer is my everyday look, so quick and easy!

  14. Yes! I'm also extremely pale and people have been known to ask if I'm sick as well when I don't wear blush so blush is a must everyday for me! My current fav is the Nars Orgasm colour which is fantastic for us albino like women but I'm definitely gonna check out this new Mata Hari next time I'm in Sephora:)

  15. I've always said that blush, chapstick and mascara is all a girl needs. I started using Estee Lauder's Pure Color Blush in Pink Ingenue - it is the perfect rosy-pink color and you can wear it year-round. It also lasts FOREVER!

  16. I never use blush since I'm already pretty blushy as it is. In fact I'm sort of makeup illiterate, but it's funny you bring it up, since I suddenly became interested in foundation and ordered some Bare Escentuals mineral powder yesterday just to check it out.

  17. I've recently been using a blush from Victoria's Secret - Luminous Mineral Blush Duo. I was watching a show called 'The Real L Word' and one of the girls on the show had amazing super blushy cheeks and I was inspired to try it out myself. Loving it!

  18. Great color. It makes sense this looks so good. Apparently there was a study where the participants were told to alter photos so the faces looked healthier, and they all made them rosier.

  19. Blush is my one go to. Even if I don't have makeup anywhere else, rosy cheeks always make me feel more peppy. I alternate blushes all the time - my faves are NARS, YSL, Chanel and Shu Uemura. A good brush is key too.

  20. I love blush. Nars are usually my favorite. Light touch for lots of pigment.

  21. I always wear blush, otherwise I look like an extra from The Walking Dead. I love this rosy look too. In fact, after wearing my overly emphasized pink-cheek Halloween makeup, I realized I actually look better with the brightly colored cheeks. Who knew?

  23. I have to wear blush. Though lately I've tried using bronzer instead to keep it more natural. I should probably go back to blush--especially this winter.

  24. I get a little annoyed when you write about blush bc it is SORTA my beauty secret :) People always comment on my rosy cheeks and think its natural, but nope. If you get the right kind and apply it to the apples, it looks like you just came in from the cold. love it. However my husband still prefers me to be all natural and not wear it, but I don't think he realizes what he really likes, haha.
