  4. These are crazy! Isn’t it funny to try and spot how many of them have the olympic rings tattooed on their bodies? You notice it most with swimmers but I’d say there’s an awful lot of them about ;)

  7. wow. these are so incredible!! my husband and I booked a last minute trip to London this weekend (we live in Amsterdam). We were watching all the coverage on BBC and couldn't stand how CLOSE we were, yet so FAR. So we just spontaneously decided we'd make it happen! So excited!

P.S. Thanks to your post on De Kas, we decided to go there for our 2 year wedding anniversary next week. Looking forward to the whole dining experience :)

  12. I'm absolutely loving the Olympics and these photos. My entire family is glued to it here in London no tickets unfortunately). We had a power cut on Sunday evening after the swimming, which we've decided was the TV's way of telling us we'd been sat down in front of it for too long! C'mon Team GB!

  16. The athletes are one thing- but have you seen the parents' reactions? NBC shot US gymnast Aly Raisman's reaction to her bar routine- and they were hilarious. http://tinyurl.com/c9384xd

  21. I have the greatest respect for the athletes: I might berate myself for a mistake at work, but I can't imagine what it would be like if I relied on my body and physical attributes to perform well as 'work'... crazy! The underarm muscles on the swimmers blow my mind, each one is bigger then any muscle in my entire body!

  22. I must admit I've mostly just been watching for Zara Phillips doing the equestrian events. K&W look so adorable watching her. It's fun to see the royal cousins showing up in support.

Definitely watching. It was sad to see the American men miss the mark in gymnastics last night, but also great to see Britain get a medal! Princess Harry and William were so cute to watch in the audience. Can't wait to see the women's teams compete tonight.

  39. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. Amazing. One of my good friends, Courtney, is on the women's Olympic water polo team. She dominated yesterday against Hungary. She has been so dedicated in her training over the past couple of years. It is amazing to see her enjoy this experience. How nice for the individuals of our hostile world to join together for some friendly competition? The Olympics truly are a special time for everyone.

I have been watching so much Olympic action (I'm a teacher) that I really need to leave the house soon! I went to the weightlifting on Sun which was awesome (especially when they played Spandau Ballet's 'Gold' after the medal ceremony) and I've got a few other things scheduled including taking school kids to Basketball on Fri evening. We get to see Team GB (yay) in one game and USA in another. The vibe in London is really cool and it's very exciting to meet fans from all over the world.
    Wasn't the opening ceremony amazing?

So for me the rivalry between us and the Brits is pretty strong.
