Have you been watching the Olympics? These photos show the crazy emotion of the games. I can't imagine how nervous the athletes must be the moment before their competition starts. See more here.

I get so nervous whenever I watch the program...even when I know the results in advance. :P

Those are incredible!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so exciting....I am glued to it here in London :)
ReplyDeleteThese are crazy! Isn’t it funny to try and spot how many of them have the olympic rings tattooed on their bodies? You notice it most with swimmers but I’d say there’s an awful lot of them about ;)
ReplyDeleteamazing!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteamazing photos - i am loving the olympics! i wish i could watch more...but alas, i have a silly job i have to be at ;)
ReplyDeletea peek of chic
I really just can't get enough of the Olympics. I wish there was something every year!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are amazing. I can't even imagine how they feel.
wow. these are so incredible!! my husband and I booked a last minute trip to London this weekend (we live in Amsterdam). We were watching all the coverage on BBC and couldn't stand how CLOSE we were, yet so FAR. So we just spontaneously decided we'd make it happen! So excited!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks to your post on De Kas, we decided to go there for our 2 year wedding anniversary next week. Looking forward to the whole dining experience :)
Such an emotional, amazing journey! Love all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed. I go to bed too late every night. I'm so tired, but it's so worth it!
ReplyDeleteThese photos definitely made me tear up
ReplyDeleteAnyone else think the 3rd photo looks like Scott Disick? (and yes, I'm ashamed to admit that I know who that is....)
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely loving the Olympics and these photos. My entire family is glued to it here in London no tickets unfortunately). We had a power cut on Sunday evening after the swimming, which we've decided was the TV's way of telling us we'd been sat down in front of it for too long! C'mon Team GB!
ReplyDeleteOlympic coverage is like an addiction for me - I just can't get enough! I can only imagine the emotions the athletes go through - I'm nervous for them and tear up when they're either really happy or defeated.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to London all who visit, we are very pleased to see you all :)
ReplyDeleteGo Team GB! (sorry couldn't resist!)
Where did the photos in your post come from? My friend's dad is an AP photographer covering tennis, so I'm wondering if that tennis photo is his!
ReplyDeleteThe athletes are one thing- but have you seen the parents' reactions? NBC shot US gymnast Aly Raisman's reaction to her bar routine- and they were hilarious. http://tinyurl.com/c9384xd
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks for sharing these photos!
xo,
Kristina
Wow - so powerful.
ReplyDeleteCurrently obsessed with the Olympics. It is incredible watching these athletes!

oh man, when jordyn weiber didn't qualify for the all around sunday nite, i think all of us girls who wanted to be gymnasts when we were little felt that. such a powerful nite.
ReplyDeleteThe pure emotion is incredible... But for a laugh, you should check out these Olympic pics: http://thefw.com/olympic-diving-funny-faces/
ReplyDeleteI have the greatest respect for the athletes: I might berate myself for a mistake at work, but I can't imagine what it would be like if I relied on my body and physical attributes to perform well as 'work'... crazy! The underarm muscles on the swimmers blow my mind, each one is bigger then any muscle in my entire body!
ReplyDeleteI must admit I've mostly just been watching for Zara Phillips doing the equestrian events. K&W look so adorable watching her. It's fun to see the royal cousins showing up in support.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost ashamed to say that I really can't be bothered with it. Those pics made me smile though x
ReplyDeleteThese pictures really do capture it well. I'm watching the women's gymnastic final right now, eeeek! Not usually a huge sports fan but I love the spirit of the Olympics :)

ReplyDeleteI'm exhausted just watching. Their hard work and dedication is truly something to marvel at.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely watching. It was sad to see the American men miss the mark in gymnastics last night, but also great to see Britain get a medal! Princess Harry and William were so cute to watch in the audience. Can't wait to see the women's teams compete tonight.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I try to watch at night and try not to get spoiled before I get to watch.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures except, WHERE ARE THE EQUESTRIAN moments?!??? Wow... disappointing they didn't share any of those great moments.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos! A gal from my town just won the U.S. Bronze for Judo! Fun to have a hometown hero to celebrate:)
ReplyDeleteit's so intense. i get totally into it too. i was freaking out during the mens 400 relay. felt totally crushed for jordan in womens gymnastics. great pictures.
ReplyDeleteThese are great photos...they really do capture the emotional side of these competitions.
ReplyDeleteMy honey is a professional photographer who started out in sports. He has shot FIVE games and says that it is far more moving than we can imagine!

Thanks for sharing those awesome photos. We can't get enough of the games, the joy and the heartbreak.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these pictures. Amazing. One of my good friends, Courtney, is on the women's Olympic water polo team. She dominated yesterday against Hungary. She has been so dedicated in her training over the past couple of years. It is amazing to see her enjoy this experience. How nice for the individuals of our hostile world to join together for some friendly competition? The Olympics truly are a special time for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to this.

Joanna! I clicked the link to more photos, and found one from the opening ceremony (the one of Paul McCartney) that was taken by my dad! He's a photographer for the Associated Press and is in London now shooting tennis. I just thought that was so cool!

Good God Michael Phelps.
ReplyDeleteThose hands! Imagine being his lady friend! Swoon.

ReplyDeleteI am hoping to visit the Olympics sites on saturday, it looks amazing, i hope weather is nice so we can have a picnic, but you never know with our british weather...
ReplyDeleteI have been watching so much Olympic action (I'm a teacher) that I really need to leave the house soon! I went to the weightlifting on Sun which was awesome (especially when they played Spandau Ballet's 'Gold' after the medal ceremony) and I've got a few other things scheduled including taking school kids to Basketball on Fri evening. We get to see Team GB (yay) in one game and USA in another. The vibe in London is really cool and it's very exciting to meet fans from all over the world.
ReplyDeleteWasn't the opening ceremony amazing?
amazing photos - I'm fascinated by these athletes - what gene pool did they come from???

I'm an Aussie that lives in London
ReplyDeleteSo for me the rivalry between us and the Brits is pretty strong.
But I've been watching pretty much everything in the olympics (I love sport dream of working for Swimming Australia or Swim USA).
These photos sum it up brilliantly.
Great photos! Check out my review of when I got to catch a basketball game at the Olympics: http://lalakamasimba.blogspot.co.uk/ Go Team GB!
