How breathtaking is this framed triptych photograph of U.S. diver Patricia McCormick doing a springboard high dive at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics? (She won the gold.) Can you imagine this hanging in a home? Beautiful.(Via Lonny)

I love this! Diving was my sport for 3 years as a teenager...I still miss it.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this! the photograph is great but then dividing it into 3 frames, it is fabulous!

Very cool. Tryptichs are kind of allover the place now and I really want to make one. A little tweaking on a favorite photo and a good photo store should do the trick without paying hundreds for it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteshe looks FIERCE!
ReplyDeleteEmpowering! I'd love to hang it above my computer. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful. She looks so strong and in control!
ReplyDeletep.s. I want that bathing suit!
that image is breathtaking!
ReplyDeletethat image is breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteHi Joanna,
ReplyDeleteI am booking a trip to amsterdam this summer, can I ask how you flew there? What airline, and was it direct? Your seats look so comfy in the picture! I am finding a major difference in price between economy and business class.
Thanks,
Patricia
um, i mostly love the swimsuit! a nice vintage change from the high-legged speedo one-pieces they've got going on these days. those suits always look like they're pulling on their...vajayjays...uncomfortably!
ReplyDeleteAnd the great things bout triptych photographs is that you can hang them slightly misaligned, which I think makes the whole thing look even cooler.

ReplyDeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! This is stunning.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo. Can't wait for the Olympics. I love watching gymnastics, swimming and diving!
ReplyDeletereally breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteBlack and white sport photography holds a special place in my heart. This is beautifully genius. I'd hang it up in a heart beat.
ReplyDeleteIt kinda makes me think of a nautilus shell.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like a nautical shell! So graceful.
ReplyDeleteThat's so rad! I'll have to show my dad this. He actually competed in the '52 Olympics for track, but for India, not the U.S. But I wonder if he saw this or not. : ) So cool!
ReplyDeleteLove that photo! xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely photo. there is a photographer who take street style in very similar style 3 photos 1 outfit

It reminds me of my ballet classes, but up in the air, upside down! So beautiful ♥
ReplyDeleteI think it's a nice image. But I'd prefer it as a single image rather than a triptych. And as AVY said, not so tightly cropped.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have a black and white picture of my son playing in the sand on the beach that I would love to give this treatment to. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS!!!!! What a great idea. Xo
ReplyDeleteIt's sort of strange and beautiful at the same time. She looks like a nautilus. Very striking.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful! Diving is really such a graceful sport
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful. It also makes me insanely jealous - how graceful.
ReplyDeleteVery cool photo! I did gymnastics for 12 years and dove in college. This photo brings back many great memories of a graceful, but hard sport.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I was on the dive team for a year in high school - such a great sport!
ReplyDeleteso inspiring!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Love the split effect of the image!
ReplyDeleteThe picture is beautiful! FYI: my good friend Courtney Matthewson is on this year's Olympic waterpolo team! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteThis would look great above the bath !
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect in a beach home. What a beautiful shot, thanks for sharing!
