What are you up to this weekend? Alex's mom and sister are coming to visit, and we're planning a little daytrip up to Blue Hill Stone Barns, where we can pet lambs and Toby can collect chicken eggs! Hope you have a great weekend (stay cool), and here are a few fun posts from around the web...A song for your weekend.
Great argument for wearing sunscreen.
Beautiful kitchen shop.
Ripped jeans.
Life in a tiny apartment.
My friend was wearing this dress this week, and it was so, so flattering. #Wishlisted.
Mozzarella and mango?
I LOVE this idea for new parents (especially after my own bout with depression).
This new book looks fascinating.
Bike-friendly hairstyles.
Made me laugh.
New Yorkers, this cheese contest looks fun.
Have a good one. xoxo

I think my weekend might involve that mozzarella, mango and mint. Perfect to beat the heat! No oven!
ReplyDeleteThis must be my favorite picture on Pinterest this week, love Wes!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Soaking up some sunshine will be all I'm planning to do this weekend. Can't wait :-)
ReplyDeleteStone Barns is SUCH a fun day trip! Not just picturesque--there's so much to learn about sustainable farming there.

Great song. It takes me back to watching reruns of the Monkees Television show when I was little. Did you ever watch that show? Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the links. I always enjoy reading each of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend!
Love all the tips for tiny apartment living!

Yummy, a cheese contest! The participants & shops seem so passionate. Just as the traditional cheese makers here in France. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat mango, mint and mozzarella dish sounds totally refreshing. I can't wait to try it. Have a wonderful weekend. xo
ReplyDeletei adore your blog. thank you. have a happy weekend. Lynda
ReplyDeleteIf you have time, the Rockefeller State Park Preserve just next door to Stone Barns is definitely worth a visit. Perfect for long, leisurely strolls!

ReplyDeletethank you, melissa; and, Lynda, you're so sweet:)

ReplyDeleteMy sisters and I are hoping to catch a flick..or 3! A double feature of Moonrise Kingdom and Safety Not Guarnateed and we might also go watch Brave with our mom.
ReplyDeleteWe really love us some movies in my family. :)
Have a great weekend!
oh the tiny apartment tips are awesome! I just read them all... thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun! I adore Asos - going to have to take a look.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend my husband and I are having a Thanksgiving do-over (Fakesgiving) after a disastrous one last year - turkey, stuffing, gravy and all! Looking forward to some Fall grub - even though it is 80 degrees out.
ohhh moonrise kingdom! so great!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to register early for the egg collecting at Stone Barns. We tried last weekend and missed out even tough we arrived at 10- but we had a great day anyway! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to read the receptionist! I'm also a receptionist and from Iowa!
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed a Saturday trip to Stone Barns recently. The cafe food is so nice and there are tables outside in the shade, but the line where you place an order can be crazy-long... maybe pack a little something for Toby just in case.
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog, Joanna! These fun links always make my more Friday worthwhile. I'm going to try the side braid on Monday when I bike to work. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the way you post your links..so creative and ingenious!! Have a beautiful weekend!

I'm seeing Moonrise Kingdom tonight. I can't wait! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend too, Joanna. Despite all of that ugliness with the kissing post. Thinking of Toby's cuteness, I'm sure you'll have no trouble. :]
ReplyDeletebaby lambs and collecting chicken eggs sounds pretty wonderful right about now. #luckytoby
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can ID the lovely dress in the refinery 29 'helmet hair' post I would be one happy girl!!
ReplyDeletePs love the Friday posts as always :)
Okay, that "Keep on Truckin'" photo is crazy and downright scary. Like you, I wear a crazy-big hat in the sun and I just generally stay out of the sun as much as possible. I'll be trying even harder now. That photo is INSANE ~ so glad to see that! And I am totally reading that book ~ it sounds SSSSOOOOO good. I'm also Pinterest obsessed ~ http://pinterest.com/audrey/. XOXO~ not much longer until our July 4th week and WE CAN'T WAIT!!!
ReplyDeleteHey i'm from singapore and i really enjoy reading your blog! Love it;)
ReplyDeleteExcellent finds this week Jo, enjoyed all of them.
ReplyDeleteThat wearing sunscreen bit is exactly what I tell my sisters every time they head out on the deck to 'get darker'. I'm going to wait thirty+ years and then see who's skin's made it through. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite pair of jeans are my torn ones. (Well, every pair of my favourite jeans have been torn ones.)
R29 actually reviewed The Receptionist a few days ago and it's now on my to-read list. Can't wait!
you always give good think to us, so i like to give you something Delicious
ReplyDeletei love your blog :) it's the first one i ever read a couple years ago - you are awesome!

Hi Joanna. My name is Marina. I'm from Brazil but I currently leave in San Diego, CA.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember how or when I found your blog, but since then I stop by every week to hear from you.
Is 2pm here, and I'm relaxing, enjoying the great weather we have here while I read your posts.
And I just felt I should tell you how much I appreciate your writing. It's fun, honest, sweet, light, cool, but also very human. It really touches my heart.
So thank you. I wish all the best to you and to your lovely family. I'm waiting for your book. You should do it, girl. You are brave and talent.
Love,
Marina
Thanks for the link to the bike friendly hair styles. It's great to see helmets promoted! Do you wear a helmet when you bike around the city, too?
ReplyDeleteJoanna, I really love your round-ups. They always inspire me and put a smile on my face!
ReplyDeleteThe world is divided between the people who "get" Wes Anderson and the people who think those people are crazy.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt came to visit from the East coast and we got to enjoy some great pizza! Good times. :)
ReplyDeleteShopping and guacamole today!

ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I read it every day without fail. I would like to say that I dislike the "jump" feature on the posts and having to go to a different page to finish reading them. Of course we will want to read every word :) It would just be easier if it was all streamlined on one page without having to jump. Just my opinion. Keep up the great work! :)
