What are you up to this weekend? We're going kayaking for the first time this summer. (It's free in the Hudson River!) Also, I can't wait for the Mad Men finale. Hope you have a relaxing weekend, and here are a few fun posts from around the web...A song to kick off your weekend.
Smashed potatoes look delicious.
Eight questions the Mad Men finale should answer.
Rad garden party.
The world's narrowest elevator. (Not good for my phobia!)
Red carpet fashion.
Sweet post about little boys.
Beautiful easy dress for the summer.
This made me laugh out loud.
Cool tents.
A Better Queue recommends great Netflix movies.
Spying on the neighbors.
Reminiscing about our wedding on Refinery29.
More on Pinterest, if you'd like. Have a good one!

any chance you got over to pier 84 to see the space shuttle before the tent went up!? it's pretty amazing. my company did the lift with the giant crane, and i got to be involved! (so i'm a little biased)
ReplyDeletei'm definitely putting that kayaking on a summer in NYC to-do list! can't beat a free kayak ride!
cheers.
You had such a beautiful wedding! And that shows in the joy that radiates from everyone in the photos even more than in the setting and attire--which is how it should be!
ReplyDeletelove those tents!

Kayaking on the Hudson is on my bucket list for this summer. So sad I am missing Shakespeare in the Park this year... that was always my favorite way to spend a Sunday night (and sometimes day if we were waiting in line :-)
ReplyDeleteANOTHER use for your several years old wedding pictures? I gotta give you credit, girl: you really know how to monetize the HELL out of your "personal" life. Impressive, I suppose.
ReplyDeletehaha the kate middleton picture... nothing can beat a real prince!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby & I went canoeing last month or the one before and really enjoyed it. No phone, no internet. Sometimes we really need that kind of break and this kind of activity together.
ReplyDeleteHave fun kayaking!

ReplyDeleteI so look forward to your Friday post!
ReplyDeleteI used to watch Top of the Pops when I lived in England and Jimmy Saville was the host. xo
ReplyDeleteMy best friend and I were 17 when Peter Sarstedt's song added to our teenaged angst and drama.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here making her a cd (mix tape!) for her 29th anniversary. I just downloaded "Where do you Go to" and have added it to her playlist. It will KILL her!!!
Thanks for reminding me of that song (and those days!)
Regards from Gail in Wa State
World's narrowest? I take it you've never been to the former USSR. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm relaxing from my vacation - if that makes sense:)
ReplyDeleteI always love the songs you share. Perfect way to start the weekend : )

ReplyDeleteHi Joanna!
ReplyDeleteI just looked at your wedding slideshow you linked, I noticed your brother did his speech entirely in a kiwi accent? Do you have New Zealand connections? Being a New Zealander myself I am super curious! x
been a LONG time since i heard that song!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to reading your blog on Friday. I call them your "Finale" posts. Really ends my week right.
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration!

I can't wait for Mad Men!!! Wonder what's going to happen...
ReplyDeleteHello, I like your blog. This is a great site and I wanted to post a comment to let you know,
ReplyDeleteI, myself, liked the fact that wedding dresses use to be any color, not just plain white,
even though they are so many lovely shades of white out there to choose from.
I would of picked a color for my wedding gown.
I would definitely have gone for a wedding dress that had some zing to it, a little……. “hey,
how you doing? Look at me!” kind of
Fort Lauderdale Beach Wedding….. color, yep, that would of been the #1 thing on my list.
That song is in Darjeeling Limited!
ReplyDeleteHi, there!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog very intresting! A lot of inspiration for myself!!!
I would like to keep in touch with you. Would you like to follow each others blog on GFC and Bloglovin?
Lots of love,

The Kate Middleton thing was so funny. And you wedding was gorgoeus.
ReplyDeleteI always meant to say how much I loved the way you guys did the "giving away"; the way you worded it. I've been struggling with how to do that portion because my dad is walking me down the aisle, but I don't feel like I'm his to give, so this is perfect inspiration. So thank you :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week end.

I didn't do much this weekend. One of my best friends is divorced, one is separated from her hubby and they both had their kids and the other is married and they have a daughter and a new baby. So, the only time I really get to go out is when they are free. It's okay though, I really don't mind staying in, it's relaxing. I did do some shopping at an online scrapbooking store this morning. I'm pretty excited about that. That's about it. Sounds like you had some good plans, I hope you had a blast kayaking.

So nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you think of the Mad men finale? A bit of a let down? I thought they'd deal more with Lane's suicide, but they jumped ahead a few months and only alluded to it by mentioning that no one wants "that office."
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the table near the Eiffel Tower!

Love that post!
ReplyDeleteHave a great night,
