How awesome that you get to bike with Toby! He's growing up to be the cutest boy.
ReplyDeleteNew York City was a beautiful one. My friend and I wandered down to Little Italy for dinner and dessert at our favorite restaurant. It was such a peaceful night.
ReplyDeletePS Toby looks so sweet, haha!
XX Hilary
yes, was such a perfect night! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a special family moment! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletexo!
Aw, this just made my morning. I woke with a fever but am now smiling:)
ReplyDeleteI'm always in awe of the evening light from Brooklyn. What a beautiful, peaceful way to wind up your weekend.
ReplyDeletelove it! I adore NY! and his smile, too cute!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! What a great little family activity :) PS. A bit random but if anyone has any B&B suggestions for a weekend getaway to Mt. Washington it would be greatly appreciated!! =)
ReplyDeleteHe's beyond adorable! What a great picture of you two!
ReplyDeletesuper cute! my just-two-year-old is working on his smile too, but it mostly still looks like a grimace! We've been saying, "Say cheese! Show your teeth!" enough that he now refers to his front teeth as his "cheese teeth". Ha!
ReplyDeletemy gosh, that smile is adorable!
ReplyDeletexx,
Aja Lake
the gold hat.
That photo smile is hilarious. My toddler son's photo small is HIDEOUS and he does it EVERY time. Toby is winning so far.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a bike ride - may need to persuade my boys to head out this evening for a quick one.
Lol... I love that Toby is working on his smile. My boys are cheesballs too and love being in photos but sometimes the oldest smiles so hard his cheeks raise so high it looks like his eyes are closed,he used to do it all the time in school pictures. Over the years we told people to never tell him to say "cheese", just smile!
ReplyDeleteThe boys and I explored Brooklyn bridge park 2 or 3 weeks ago and loved it, so much that we didn't have a chance to walk it back into the city but it's still on our list.
I agree, that grin is the best!! So innocent and full of happiness :)
ReplyDeleteHis smile/grimace is so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he had the best time every riding bikes. How fun!
*ever
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fantastic adventure, I love seeing the pictures! I hope you had a great weekend and have a wonderful Monday.

ReplyDeleteMore biking posts, please. :-) Somehow, the first time I stumbled upon your blog, it was through a search related to biking, and that was how I fell in love with the blog.
One of the best feelings in the world. Tastes like freedom.

That is a great Toby smile. My niece, who's 2 1/2, tends to have a baring of teeth when she smiles for photos. :) Have to work on getting those corners turned up...
ReplyDeleteYour sunset bike ride reminds me of the little jaunt my bf and I took out to Half Moon Bay yesterday. The weather in the Bay Area was gorgeous, but we skirted the traffic by having dinner later in the afternoon, then going for a beach stroll afterward. By the time we drove back home, shadows were falling on the flower farms and fields were they grow pumpkins and Christmas trees, but still light out. Magical time of day.
how fantastic! I've never been across the Brooklyn bridge before but it looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteTreasure Tromp
How fun! What a cute picture smile! I love it! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHahahah. "What a bunny." You guys are the cutest.
ReplyDeletehow sweet! i hope you weren't one of those bikers who screamed at innocent newbies to the bridge who didn't know that i could only walk on one side ;)
ReplyDeletea peek of chic
Oh my, I'd love to try riding my bike across the Brookyln Bridge. This would be such a great activity to add to my husband and I's trip to NYC this fall. And Toby is such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. I've walked it a fair few times but would love to cycle across Brooklyn Bridge.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, he's getting soooo big!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet photo. I think his smile looks a little bit like Alex's smile, minus the bunny-aspect. :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteThis shows that the best things in life are free!
ReplyDeleteI got married on the Brooklyn Bridge, so I especially love this post! If I lived there, I would have to bike across with my 21 month old as often as possible!
ReplyDeleteMy family and I went to NY for the first time last week, and we used your NY travel guide to see the sights! We walked across the brooklyn bridge at midnight on our last night... a little scary riding the subway that late, but a great way to end the trip! I love knowing exactly what you're talking about :) thanks for the travel tips! We had a great time!
ReplyDeleteha he is just the cutest.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter posted pics of the beautiful sunset! gorgeous! Toby is doll...love that smile!
ReplyDeleteyou made me dream about NY with this photo
ReplyDeleteJoanna, this is so funny. I love your very European side, always taking into consideration the Brits and the French in culture, style and child-rearing. Here you say,"he's still working on his smile for photos." I think it would be poignant to show this to the French, who truly cannot understand our crazy huge camera-ready forced smiles in every photo. I always tell them "it's just what we are raised to do, we cant imagine any other way to be in pictures.".
ReplyDeleteIt's one oddity chez les américains that I can totally appreciate from the French perspective, but still, I wouldn't put on a pouty face or blank stare in a photo for anything.
How adorable, Joanna! Toby looks a lot like your brother, no?
ReplyDeleteI used to love biking with my parents! Toby has a great camera smile! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous smile!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your posts on life in New York. I've only visited the city once in my life but I came home completely fascinated by the place. I cannot wait to visit again.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! so cute! He looks so much like your hubby!
ReplyDeleteahh brookly bridge is just so beautiful. then again, where in ny isn't it? I'm 5 months here and am still as excited as day 1!
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet thing to capture.. learning your smile for photos, love this! t.
ReplyDeletetess, i'm so glad you had a great time!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteanu, yes, a lot of people say that! i don't see it, but i think i know them both too well :)
ReplyDeleteSOOO sweet, he's still working on his smile for photos! OMG that just killed me. He is such a bunny:)
ReplyDeleteYou and I are sunglasses twins! :)
