Motherhood Mondays: Popsicles

Today, New York is going to be a whopping 85 degrees (yowza!) and it feels like the first day of summer. Aren't these popsicle sticks adorable? Grapefruit and orange juice would be refreshing on a summer day; and apple juice was my favorite growing up. Stay cool wherever you are today!

P.S. Avocado popsicles and sailboats.

We had something similar growing up and LOOOOVED them. The pink lemonade with berries added were our favorites:)

so happy for you that it looks like summer. Here it is freezing and making popsicles is the last thing i would make. It's more weather for pancakes and hot chocolat sauce and waffles with whipped cream.
But it does remind me of when i was younger and i just saw them last week in Ikea as well.

These are just what I've been looking for, my parents are old school so we would just use the ice cube tray with toothpicks, ha!
Plus we can use this at my end of the school year party!

Wow! It is a bit toasty up there. Reminds me of the movies when the kids are playing in the water streaming out of neighborhood fire hydrants. But those cute popsicles look nice and refreshing!

It is 84 here in the Sunshine State (FL) but we love these warm days that follow with a nice cool breeze.

Have a great day!

I have these and love them. I also put yogurt in them for a frozen yogurt treat. My 3 year old loves them!

That just makes me think of all of the mexican style palettas in the summertime. My favorite flavor was avocado, basically a frozen fruit smoothie, so freaking good!

So nostalgic! Mom would fill these types of molds with apple juice, orange juice or cranberry juice and send us outside to eat them on the curb.
Good times. :)

These look so delicious! Unfortunately, it's only in the 50s so not really weather for cold things :( Enjoy the nice weather! x

Aw, they are adorable! I was in love with Juicy Juice apple juice as a kid. And 85...getting up there! I'm dreading the summer when it'll get past 100 degrees here in Texas. Makes me want to fall over on the pavement, you know?

Have a good day!

I am sure we make them more healthy now ... but homemade popsicles are a fun childhood memory.

Enjoy your hot weather.

Wow, congrats on 85!! I'm sure this is the day everyone in the north looks forward to! It's been 85 in Texas since February, but we're loving it all the same! I need to make some Popsicles! Cute! :)

The most sublime flavor I ever enjoyed was lavender-honey on a very hot day last summer.

Gah 85!?! Yikes!

This takes me back! We used to do the old-school: Ice cube tray filled with 7-Up and Orange juice, cover in foil, add tootpicks (SO safe, lol!) and let freeze!

We have those. We make them tasty and as thick as possible (with yogurt and fresh smashed fruit most of the time). Super yummy. Of course, since we're in Florida we eat them year round.

So cute! I have cute little monster looking Popsicle holders and my boys love them. Yogurt with fresh cut up fruit is a favorite at my house!

Today at Trader Joe's I remembered those greek yogurt with berry popsicles, so I bought some yogurt. (it's 88 in DC today!) I'm so glad you linked to that old post, otherwise I would have had to hunt for it! (I mean, not that it would have been hard.) thanks for reading my mind ;)

Cute!

Good grief, it got up to 92 today in New Hampshire. New Hampshire, in April! Although a full month ago, we were almost this warm (mid-80s) for close to a week. Weird weather.

You should check out my cousin's Paleta stands in NYC--La Newyorkina. They'll be open again for the summer, at the Highline starting this weekend and Hester Street Fair next weekend. Sooo good!

It was so hot in Central Park today there was not a single kid in the sandbox! Quite strange... I literally made Popsicles last night from some 2 dollar IKEA pop makers and some blueberry pomegranate juice and water. Thanks for reminding me!

I have those. Love them! I always make smoothies to freeze and sneak veggies like spinach, kale, and carrots into them. my two year old basically lives off of them. "pop, mama?!"

85 degrees? I'm jealous. I drove to work today in SNOW. Thankfully it was the kind that melted right away.

We just started buying those creamy/healthyish fruit pops from Whole Foods, but now I think I'll make them from home with diluted juice. This is what I was about to look for! Thanks!
