ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThat orange wedding dress is AMAZING. A-maz-ing. And her bob is so effortlessly chic. Who says only long hair can be sexy? I've been thinking of getting a haircut for awhile - those picture have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Joanna!
Orange wedding dress!! Wowzers!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and striking wedding. Love it.
Brightened up my Friday. Thanks so much.
I've always wanted to get food from a food truck! There are a few in Boston, just haven't gotten the chance to get anything. Guess I'll have to soon :) Hope your weekend is lovely!

ReplyDeleteSmorgasburg in Williamsburg is back this weekend too! Will definitely be heading there for some tasty treats :)
ReplyDeletelazy weekends can be unexpectedly relaxing. Have a goodone.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Next time you're in the Bay Area, you should check out the American Grilled Cheese Kitchen. It's right by the PUBLIC Bikes retail store.
ReplyDeleteLove the grilled cheese and the Sunday Supper recommendations...will be using both on my next trip to NYC soon, soon, soon.
ReplyDeleteAfter all these years and so many trips, always on the lookout for something new to do!

There's such a thing as a grilled cheese truck? (!!)
ReplyDeleteSomething about trucks and food. Yum, yum!
Have a splendid Easter weekend!

Ohhhhh I love the Magnetic Fields! Do you know "You You You You You" by the Sixths? Another Stephen Merritt band, and it's such a sweet song.
ReplyDeleteI was so waiting to hear something Eastery mentioned in this post. :) Totally wish a grilled cheese truck existed in my area -- have fun!
ReplyDeleteso crazy how cheerleaders have changed, & there are less and less material on them now a days...
ReplyDeletewww.thepinksmashbox.com
One of my MOST favorite Magnetic Fields songs :) The Book of Love was our wedding song! Have you seen the documentary on Stephin Merritt? It's pretty good.
ReplyDeleteOmbre hair? Chair? Not sure which I like better...Ombre tights...yes please.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the fun links to look at! Happy Easter!

Happy Friday Joanna- grilled cheese truck sounds amazing! BTW that nike ad... ugh. I wish it didn't have to move. I don't mind the ads at all on the sides. But why do they have to make it move? I think it's evil.
ReplyDeleteIf you are ever in New Haven, CT, we have the most amazing grilled cheese truck. When we catch them at the farmer's market, all the ingredients come from the venders! The chef buys them that morning when he arrives. Pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteW lazy weekends!! :)

ReplyDeleteLOVE that ombre chair, i'll be ading that to my never-ending list of DIY projects. There's a popular grilled cheese truck here in Miami, called Ms. Cheezious; their apple and havarti grilled cheese is mind-blowing deelish! Come to Miami on your next trip and check them out haha. Happy Easter weekend to you too!
The orange dress is gorgeous, especially in the photo by the water where the texture and folds are reminiscent of Leighton's "Flaming June."

Also...happy Passover to Jewish peeps.
ReplyDeleteThe viking video...
ReplyDelete"Did you wash?"
"Every Saturday!"

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the Magnetic Fields song: it's a great pop ditty!
oooh, grilled cheese sounds soooo good right about now! are you one of those people who puts all different kinds of cheeses on it? I tend to stick with American cheese.

Happy Easter, Joanna! :)
ReplyDeleteMilk Truck is often parked right by my apartment on the weekends!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite truck is Mexicue. The food is delicious. If you ever try it, the burrito bullets and green chili mac & cheese are the way to go. (It is often parked in the Food Truck Court behind the World Financial Center.)
Have a great weekend!
oh what a great choice of magnetic fields weekend song!
ReplyDeleteI love that song. I just saw the Magnetic Fields in NY at the Beacon Theater Wednesday night with my boyfriend! It was awesome; we're pretty big fans.
ReplyDeleteLove the orange wedding dress!
ReplyDeleteMine was fuchsia. :)
WOW. That wedding post blew me away! I'm in the mist of planning mine and I can appreciate her ability to go against the grain and think outside of the box. Inspiring. The colors are to die for.....
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!

Zoë , yes!! my friends know him well (she used to be his assistant, what a dream job!!) and HE PLAYED IT AT THEIR WEDDING!!!!! can you even imagine??!!!!
ReplyDeleteAP, i actually interviewed him once, and it was such an honor. i was so nervous. for this story about how he only dresses in brown:) http://nymag.com/fashion/08/spring/44210/index4.html
ReplyDeletethank you, joanne! what a cool link!!
ReplyDeleteIs the Jalouse video supposed to be a joke? Perhaps my sense of humor is off but I feel like it does little more than make young women look disgustingly vapid. As a strong, intelligent woman, who also enjoys fashion, I'm feeling a bit off-put by the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Greeting from the Caribbean. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the wedding dress. Gorgeous. Her bridesmaids outfits on the other hand, I do not care for. I love the idea, but they just didn't work well on all of the women and being able to see where the tops were tucked in really bothered me. Better to do a one piece dress, in such thin silky fabric. The bride was beyond gorgeous though. Perfect dress, perfect color, perfect hair and makeup. Love!
ReplyDeleteHappy easter.
grilled cheese sounds so great. Have a wonderful wekeend.
ReplyDeleteI love 1:26 in context with the rest of the subtitles in the Jalouse video. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering about the picture for the Have a great weekend post, is that a photo with French actor Alain Delon?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being featured! :)
ReplyDeleteAlways love yoru black and white photos.. !
ReplyDeleteInspired by Cup of Jo, I'm getting going with my blog about being a new mum in Amsterdam! http://thisamsterdamday.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter all. xx
haha Joanna you are too cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's not spelled Pinata it's Piñata, hit that control button and then press N.
I learned thanks to this guy: https://www.facebook.com/pages/OptionCommandLearn/320061698028103
I think you wrote somewhere that you have an mac, hope this is helpful to anyone else!
If I were as pretty as that bride, I'd wear an orange wedding dress! In New Mexico, piñatas are so common we often go a little overboard to make them unique. We can find a piñata to whack every weekend if we wanted, but, alas, my scale would disagree with that choice!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying for those neon sandals! Hope you have an awesome weekend :).
ReplyDeleteM loves D
the animal pizza is too cute!! Happy wkend!
ReplyDeleteI just learned how to make sandwich wraps! And snack bags. No more buying them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for turning me on to Tomboy style.
ReplyDeleteHa. Viking Wives is funny.. I moved to Norway to live with my husband. Oh and super love the Charlotte Rampling picture.
ReplyDeleteI love Charlotte Rampling. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOMG, that cross-stitched screen is amazing. I would love to walk through that door.
ReplyDeleteAnother Australian and I DID wear an orange wedding dress, in 2007. Maybe it's just a thing over here.
ReplyDeleteJo, congrats on being listed among the 5! You're an inspiration, but most of all you're a joy! SO I tune in and am so happy to see your posts as they come in. That orange dress {the bride, the setting, her bridesmaids, etc} is beyond awesome! Just goes to show that when you're true to you the color of the dress doesn't matter.
ReplyDeletemy friend called me for photoshooting and i made some pictures:) we had a fun and pretty times fly...

Happy Easter Jo!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter
ReplyDeleteI loved the evolution of cheerleading! I used to be a cheerleader in high school and found those photos to be insane! It's crazy how much it has changed.
ReplyDeleteI also loved, loved, loved the "film to appeal to women". What a great concept! I couldn't stop laughing!
All-in-all, good weekend post!
missmelandmissheather.blogspot.com
Congratulations on that feature! You would have seen it coming ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a grand Easter weekend.
Cheers
The wedding dress is gorgeous. If I recall correctly, orange was typically worn by brides in ancient Rome.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the article!
ReplyDeleteI spent my Easter Sunday collecting a gallery of my favorite pastel colored ballerina inspired fashion. Tutu's, shoes and amazing corset pieces.
I would be honored if you would take a peak!!!

I just had to comment on this one! I just gave birth a few months ago and didn't find out the sex at all (until the very end)! My husband and I just believed (even before we were pregnant) that finding out the sex of your child is one of the last few genuine surprises left on this earth. So much in our lives is predictable.cheap prom dresses
