Have an amazing weekend.

What are you doing this weekend? We have a long-lost friend from England visiting tonight, and I'm also going to get a foot massage! Just as a little treat:) (Have you ever gotten one?) Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few great links from around the web...

Cable guys? Thumbs up.

This wedding story is heartbreaking and affirming.

Funny inventions from Holland.

My favorite advice.

YES!!! A new Pigeon book. Already ordered.

Loving the color mint.

Little nappers.

A few cool plants.

The Bachelor drawings made me laugh out loud.

New sunnies for the summer.

Frogs I kissed and liked.

A very strong 12-year-old.

After this post, I realized I need this new app.

Parents and parents-to-be: Go to mOmma's facebook page to get a free product sample. Just enter the promo code CUPOFJO.

Finally, a song to kick off your weekend. xoxo

Haha, you should live in Japan where their washrooms (at least the public ones) have "courtesy" buttons on the toilets you can press and it plays music for you.

That wedding story was as equally beautiful as it is heart breaking - it made me stop and think about what life really is all about. Thanks for posting it Jo. And love the humour of the app - you are so funny - !!!!!

Have a gorgeous weekend - I'm off down to the country to potter in the garden and be gentle and quiet.

That app is hilarious AND useful. I like that it calculates how much water you've saved! (nerd).

I love how good-natured you are about any kind of criticism. I respect you for being honest and pleasant. Many people are one or the other, or neither. You're refreshingly both.

I cried so much reading the wedding story. For me the emotions are so raw as I battled a life threatening disease 2 years after getting married. Reading their beautiful wedding story was cathartic and opened up a well of well hidden pain from the past 5 years of fighting against all odds.

Joanna,

I have been following your blog daily for the last four years. I remember when you first were engaged to Alex, and when you were married, and who could ever forget when Toby came along! And your blog has helped me through my final two years of college, two big breakups, and getting my first job as a teacher. I have felt like commenting many times but today more than ever. As a young(er...) reader, I appreciate your 'best advice' column today. I can relate when you talk about figuring out who you are/ who you wanted to be in your early 20s and as someone who is there, I really appreciate it. I just thought it was time to stop in and say hello officially. Thank you for all that you do, Joanna. You touch lives every day!

You know, Joanna, it's funny but I remember you posting your favorite advice on Smitten with a photo of a girl taking a running leap off a wooden deck into a lake! And I remember this because I took it so to heart that I printed out a copy of that blog post for my scrapbook. :) Thanks for the reminder...I just came out of writing my master's thesis and presenting it in colloquium, so now that's out of the way, I have the headspace to think about what else I'd like to do with my life now. I can create it. :)
