Have you seen the trailer for Jeff, Who Lives At Home? Looking forward to watching it, and maybe sneaking in a pizza or giant burrito. (What do you sneak into the movies? My friends take mini bottles of wine!)
Can't wait to see this one. We usually sneak in our own popcorn (much better!) or a dessert. Once I sat next to an old man who brought a huge container of sliced pickles!
Mini bottles of wine? We sometimes sneak in the full bottle. It's amazing how some twist off wines have become relatively decent.
Otherwise, as a San Diego girl, burritos are my snack of choice (what is it about something wrapped up in a large tortilla that makes it so utterly delicious?).
ohhh so excited! i love jason segel & ed helms. we used to sneak beers & noodle box (a fantastic asian-fusion takeout place in Vancouver) into the theatre, but now we mostly go to weekend matinees, so sometimes we'll sneak breakfast sandwiches and coffee in :) being sneaky makes going to the moves so much more fun!
sneaking in wine, we've done that. but it was a full sized bottle. we went to see Sideways (the wine seemed appropriate!) but as i got up to use the laides room, i inadvertantly knocked over my wine glass, practically kicking it like a football, it shattered on the floor. this was while the movie was still running, and of course in a quiet part. a loud gasp could be heard by all. too funny.
This movie looks great. My hubby and I sneak in candy we buy from a cheaper location than the movie theater although, I am a sucker for the frozen Jr. Mints.
I'm more excited for the other movie Jason Segal is going to be in, with Emily Blunt, called "The Five Year Engagement." I always sneak in bottled water and gummi snacks. Pretty boring, haha.
I once went to the movies with a friend and her husband, we all snuck in a slice each of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I think eating white chocolate raspberry cheesecake during a movie is the way to go.
I love Jason Segel and Ed Helms so I can't wait to see this movie! I always sneak in SweetTarts & Diet Cherry Pepsi. I once went to the movies a couple who brought a gallon of ice cream!
We always do a Safeway run before the start of the film to get cheaper candy and drinks, once i snuck 2 huge smoothies up my sweater and my husband (then boyfriend) thought it was amusing as I'd said I'd always wanted bigger breasts and then suddenly i had them... anyhoo, we also take a snuggly rug as I always get so cold and more than often I wear Uggs (and I never wear them out!). But having had kids it's harder to get to the movies together as session times here are either too early or way too late - never 8pm which would be the perfect time. This movie looks great - two of my favourite tv show actors together plus the magnificent Susan Sarandon
Mini wine bottles - brilliant! I always sneak in my own water bottle and sometimes candy if I can remember. The 100 calories popcorn bags are also brill.
@SYounis Maybe your friend was disturbed because it's not the typical thing you see from Jason Segal/Ed Helms. It's a dark comedy and deals with family dysfunction and a man struggling to find himself.
Lol, I've been sneaking stuff into the movies since I was a little kid (only then it was my mom who was doing the sneaking). Mostly soda, bottled water, candy and occasionally Chinese food. Never popcorn though. Nothing compares to movie theater popcorn even if it is outrageously expensive.
PS- the movie looks really cute! Can't wait to check it out.
Oh that looks fantastic and I am a massive fan of Jason Segal! I once tried to sneak in a whole tub of hummus, falafel, vine leaves and salad. Didn't get caught, but felt silly pulling them all out to eat, so left them in my bag!
In Canada we have a place called the Bulk Barn where you can load up on all sorts of treats from candy to nuts to chips and dried fruit. I usually get something savoury and my husband gets something sweet. We load our bags into my purse and bob's your uncle!
My favourite movie contraband is yogourt covered almonds...
I will most definitely be sneaking in mini bottles of wine, or the full bottle as suggested above!! I can't believe I never thought of that! I've been bringing my own water and my own candy in, and every now and again I've brought in a sandwich. Wine is on my list now!
Last Saturday we took our four kids to see The Lorax. In my purse was a water bottle, hot tamales, gobstoppers, candy rings, nestle crunch and life savers. Last weekend it was just me and my man...purse was full of Subway and water bottles. Thankful for my big purse! (On a girl's night out...it's wine!)
I usually sneak in a "six pack and a pound" from Taco Johns. (It's six tacos and a pound of potato oles). Take a huge bag and you can sneak ANYTHING in.
I always sneak in the cute little package of Pringles (sour cream and onion) - and usually eat it by the time the trailers are finished :) I one tried to sneak in coke from McDonalds but they saw me and made me throw it away. Since then I alway sneak in bottled water in my purse.
I've just seen the trailer the other day and wanted to see it. Mini bottles of wine seem like a good idea (I don't know why I hadn't thought of it earlier)!
My husband showed me the trailed several weeks ago, and I have so been looking forward to it since then! I like to sneak tons of snacks from trader joe's in-- like the chocolate covered toffee popcorn!
Peanut M&Ms and wine! It works especially well during winter time, thanks to large jacket pockets :) This looks like an entertaining movie - I look forward to seeing it!
when you sneak in a snack you go all out. I always thought i was such a rebel for bringing in a bottle of water and candy. I will need to get more imaginative next time. Burrito HA! Love it.
Too funny - as your page loaded the preview came on tv! I am quite excited for this movie. And now plan in making movies that much better with wine - great idea! We usually just sneak in dollar boxes of candy.
I can probably relate to this film because I'm 39 and still live with my parents. I've been told that in Europe, this only happens to people with Down's syndrome...
I snuck in my favorite mexican food once...we ordered to go, and then had tupper ware containers waiting in the car to put it in so it wouldn't spill in my purse. The food was glorious and fun time! Wish the movie we snuck it into was more memorable... ;)
Ever since we lived in Chicago and our movie theatre was located across the street from a Fox & Obel grocery store, we've always snuck in a mini buffet of quesadillas and believe it or not...sushi! We always end up having to stifle laughs at how much the sushi smells and how we can't believe we never get caught! We've had a few soy sauce mishaps, but we can't seem to give up the silly tradition!
I saw this movie at the Toronto International Film Festival - was really really really really excited since I love these guys! It's not the funniest nor the best movie you'll ever see but worth the time :)
We sneak in mini bottles of wine or bags of mixed nuts... sunflower seeds... I always feel guilty but then again, I'm glad I"m not the only one. :)
When the revamped Beauty and the Beast came back into theaters, my friends and I thought it would be so much fun to sneak into the theatre. WE WERE REIGHT! It was like we were 12 again at a birthday party, but just a little more giddy.
Can't wait to see this one. We usually sneak in our own popcorn (much better!) or a dessert. Once I sat next to an old man who brought a huge container of sliced pickles!
ReplyDeleteI love having cookies at the movies!
ReplyDeleteMini bottles of wine? We sometimes sneak in the full bottle. It's amazing how some twist off wines have become relatively decent.

Hahahaha...Sneaking a bottle of wine at the movies! Classic! I look forward to seeing this one! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteHahaha I enjoy sneaking chick-fil-a in!!! Nothing like trying to eat a chicken sandwich and fries without drawing the attention of other movie goers!!
ReplyDeleteLast time I had a box of girl scout cookies in my bag! But a big chipotle burrito is the ultimate.
ReplyDeleteWine! What a great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteWe sneak in airplane bottles of liquor to add to soda! LOL
And trail mix. Odd combo but we like it!
ohhh so excited! i love jason segel & ed helms. we used to sneak beers & noodle box (a fantastic asian-fusion takeout place in Vancouver) into the theatre, but now we mostly go to weekend matinees, so sometimes we'll sneak breakfast sandwiches and coffee in :) being sneaky makes going to the moves so much more fun!
ReplyDeleteMy husband always sneaks in blueberries. I'm so afraid he's going to spill them on the floor one day and they'll roll everywhere.

ReplyDeleteMy friend saw this last night and said she felt really uncomfortable/distrubed watching it. I would love to hear what you think once you've seen it.
ReplyDeletei once snuck in the nyt chocolate chip cookies. heaven!
I was once in a movie where someone legitimately snuck in BBQ.
ReplyDeleteThis movie looks great. My hubby and I sneak in candy we buy from a cheaper location than the movie theater although, I am a sucker for the frozen Jr. Mints.
ReplyDeleteI'm more excited for the other movie Jason Segal is going to be in, with Emily Blunt, called "The Five Year Engagement." I always sneak in bottled water and gummi snacks. Pretty boring, haha.
ReplyDeleteWe sneak in candy, always, and sometimes more of a meal! This moving looks right up my alley. "Wanderlust" is on my list, too.
ReplyDeleteCheap candy and soft pretzels - always. xo
ReplyDeleteI once went to the movies with a friend and her husband, we all snuck in a slice each of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I think eating white chocolate raspberry cheesecake during a movie is the way to go.

Burritos are my favorite food. Where do you get your snuck burritos?
ReplyDeleteI think I heard someone mention this the other day, but I haven't looked into it. Given who's in it, I think I'd probably like it :)
ReplyDeleteI just sneak my water bottle in. I refuse to pay $2 for water, so I just carry mine in my purse.
This past weekend I took my younger cousins to the movies to see "The Lorax" and we snuck in cupcakes! It was quite fun cousin-girl time.
ReplyDeleteLooks hilarious! Can't wait! I love sneaking in crackers and hummus...
ReplyDeleteI saw it at the Toronto Film Festival -- it's really good and I'm excited to see it again! It's funny but also really touching. I laughed and cried.
ReplyDeleteOnce I was at a movie and the ladies behind me were eating a bucket of chicken. As in, a huge KFC family size bucket. Impressive!
ReplyDelete@SYounis Maybe your friend was disturbed because it's not the typical thing you see from Jason Segal/Ed Helms. It's a dark comedy and deals with family dysfunction and a man struggling to find himself.

Anything I want! But my favorite is watching a bad movie with a couple tall boys and homemade popcorn.

This movie looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei usually just sneak in raisinets or sour patch kids, but i have been known to smuggle a chipotle burrito bowl....
ReplyDeleteI love Ed Helms in everything he does! I usually take my big purse with bag of either cookies or candy from Wal-Mart that cost only $1.
ReplyDeleteI live in Austin, TX and only see movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. They serve wine, beer and food during the movie, so no sneaking required!
ReplyDeleteOh that looks fantastic and I am a massive fan of Jason Segal! I once tried to sneak in a whole tub of hummus, falafel, vine leaves and salad. Didn't get caught, but felt silly pulling them all out to eat, so left them in my bag!

ReplyDeleteOh yeah! We sneak in a little wine four pack and a snack.

I bring in full size bottles of wine (thank God for screw tops). Isn't that why girls carry giant purses?
ReplyDeleteI will most definitely be sneaking in mini bottles of wine, or the full bottle as suggested above!! I can't believe I never thought of that! I've been bringing my own water and my own candy in, and every now and again I've brought in a sandwich. Wine is on my list now!
