What are you doing this weekend? My dad's coming to visit from Michigan, and we're going out for pasta and to this rad exhibit. Toby will be showing off his new walking backwards skills, which he thinks is the same as doing the moonwalk. More or less! Have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few great posts from around the web...Who wants coffee?
Raddest photos of fireflies.
Made me laugh.
Back to the Future comes to Broadway.
Rainbow nails.
Amsterdam is so cold right now that you can ice skate on the canals!
Double cuteness.
This gives me spring fever.
Toby and I are equally enamored with this great book.
Yes! Murray's Cheese has a tumblr!
Plus, I did two little interviews: for Loeffler Randall and DwellStudio.

I recently ran across a lovely video on Facebook of the Amsterdam ice skating! It really chokes me up because I grew up in Holland (and the music doesn't help either): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0KZtgWoARsw Makes me miss my mother country! I now live in North Dakota, of all places.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos from Amsterdam, lucky for us the same thing happens in Ottawa, Canada every year!

ReplyDeleteAh, Michigan. Give him a hug from one Michiganian to another! I miss it there. (Living in CT now!)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderous weekend!
Hm, I'm calling the bluff on those lattes. Usually when you get a "lovely heart or flower" in your latte, that's poured latte art - done as the barista pours the milk into the espresso in a certain shape. These are drawn ("etched") on top of the foam with a toothpick or other tool. As the tshirt I made for my coffee roaster/barista fiance says, "etching is not latte art."
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I'm not saying I could make those designs, just providing information.
Enjoy the weekend with your dad! Thanks for all the cool links!
ReplyDelete"I Will" is such a beautiful song... I'd never heard it until I read your interview and now I can't stop re-playing it :)
ReplyDeleteWowza ~ it looks like fluffy cotton balls :)
ReplyDeleteFull of style. Love it.

Hi Joanna, I'm probably just not looking properly but I can't see a credit for the photographer who took that fantastic clouds picture. Whose work is it?

I love that cheese tumblr!!!

Lashley, you'll notice that we did say in our post that the lattes were etched. Our barista friends at Stumptown love them either way, so I'd say they count as latte art.
ReplyDeleteThanks for looking. :) -LR
OMG i LOVE THE RAINBOW NAILS
ReplyDeletewww.edensjungle.com
It's not that cold anymore in Amsterdam :( It's actually raining right now. But the skating was beautiful. Have you seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KZtgWoARsw
