Flats love

Madewell's sidewalk skimmers are all adorable, but the polka dots have stolen my heart. How adorable are they? Would love to wear them to the playground and brunches in the West Village this spring.

  18. I have the top ones and literally have to stop myself from wearing them every day. I also like that the fur (hair? ew, I feel like hair sounds creepy) stays put as opposed to looking baldish.

Joanna I really wish you would disclose posts that contain products you receive compensation for, including affiliate links (as in the above post). It diminishes my trust in your recommendations and, at least for me, raises ethical issues. I am not positive, but I also think failing to do so is against the law. I understand you need to make money, but please do so with the knowledge of your readers (beyond a vague blurb in the bottom corner of your blog).

    Dear Miss Anonymous,

I am quite sure that Joanna does not receive compensation for reccs she makes, and if she does, the disclosure she has on the side is well more than enough. It's exactly what the Better Business bureau recommends for stores to have in sight of the cash register regarding their policies.

  45. What I love about polka dotted flats is that they go with everything (even other patterns.) They function like a neutral, but with more pzazz!

  46. They ARE cute.. but I can't wear flats! I have wide feet and they look silly in flats and they don't ever feel comfortabl. They either slip off my feet too easily.. or are too tight!

Hmmm.. I thought they were cute initially, but as with J Crew when the origin says "import" it typically means made in China. The J Crew flats are usually made in Italy and say so. Personally, I find the quality much higher if made in Italy!

  67. Those are cute, but have you seen the ballet flats from Tom's? They have a leopard print pair. The ones I bought are more of a classic style, burlap with a black toe and heel. I love how they look, they're super comfy, plus I feel all warm and gooey considering their whole One for One premise. They fit a little on the large side, though, FYI.
