The Best Grilled Cheese Sandwiches You'll Ever Have

Who doesn't love an old-fashioned grilled cheese? Perfect for midnight snacks or curing hangovers, these rich sandwiches always hit the spot. Well, today, Kate from Wit & Delight shares how to make the best two versions, one savory, one sweet...

The Best Grilled Cheese Sandwiches You'll Ever Have
By Kate from Wit & Delight

Hi all! I'm delighted to share two variations on the classic grilled cheese sandwich with you today. I love a good grilled cheese sandwich, and I'm always looking for ways to spice things up. By adding a few unexpected ingredients, you'll satisfy both your sugar and salt cravings with these gooey sandwiches. Enjoy!

Recipe: Savory Grilled Cheese

You'll need:
Sourdough bread
Bacon
Avocado
Hot sauce, like Siracha
White cheddar cheese
Unsalted butter

Fry the bacon until cooked, but not too crispy. Assembled each sandwich with avocado, cooked bacon, cheddar, and hot sauce. Fry the sandwich in the leftover bacon drippings. Grill until bread is brown and cheese is melty.

Recipe: Sweet Grilled Cheese

You'll need:
Multigrain bread
Nutella
Pear
Brie
Salted butter

Spread a layer of Nutella on the bread. Top with thinly sliced pears and brie. Butter both sides of the bread. Grill until the outside is toasted brown and the cheese is melty.
Delicious. Thank you, Kate.

P.S. Best egg sandwich, and best chocolate ice cream.
