10 Valentine's Day gifts for women

The Miraculous Push-Up Bra, for obvious reasons. $58. (This is sexy, too.)
Cool heart hoops by Marc Jacobs, $48.
A gift certificate for a foot massage. Have you ever gotten one? Pressure points on your feet correspond to other parts of your body (your head, your arms, your back) so you leave feeling relaxed and floppy all over. Amazing and such a treat. $115 for an hour.
Flowers, and here's the kicker: Send them to her office. It's so much fun to get flowers at work! Her heart will secretly skip a beat when the delivery guy walks in and calls her name, and they'll look gorgeous on her desk for a week. (P.S. Skip the traditional dozen red roses and mix it up a little or a lot; and be sure the bouquet includes a vase. Call up a local florist, or Teleflora and Proflowers are great, too. xoxo)
Ampersand necklace to show your sweet connection. (The font was inspired by the alphabet magnets on everyone's fridges growing up!) $124.
Etta James CD, with classic songs to make her starry-eyed. $4.99.
Giant heart balloons to have waiting in the bathroom, bedroom, hallway and living room when she wakes up.
A notepad with your favorite schmoopy photo, $12.99.
A brownie of the month club. (This exists!!!) $65 for three months.
A good old-fashioned love letter, since that's all she really wants anyway.

What kinds of gifts do you like to get (or give) for Valentine's Day? I'd love to hear more ideas...

P.S. A men's gift guide coming up tomorrow! And past gift guides...

  13. I know sometimes people shy away from flowers due to the cost and temporary nature, but I thought this quote from J Schwanke beautifully explains why the gift of flowers is so meaningful: "You have to admit… (and we all Realize)… that Flowers do eventually die… that is part of what makes them so very Special… the Fresh cut Flower is our opportunity to seize the moment… and capture the EMOTION of our Expressions with something Beautiful, Colorful, Fragrant and Fragile…" (full article here: http://networkedblogs.com/tfpH0)

Besides, purchasing flowers from your neighborhood florist is a great way to shop local!

The heart balloons in their uninflated state in shades of different pinks remind of something else. But I bet those would look pretty cool blown up as hearts.

  53. My ex-boyfriend (now husband) gave me paper flowers he made himself for our first valentines day together. they were crumpled, hardly recognizable as flowers, and absolutely lovely. one of the best gifts ever -- although the brownie of the month club does sound pretty amazing :)

  54. We don't usually exchange gifts since our birthdays are in January, but we do always make a fun meal. This year we're having steak, wedge salads, twice-baked potatoes, and chocolate macaroon pie. I think it would be fun to give someone a brownie (or other dessert) of the month club as a gift and then make them myself. $65 seems outrageous for 3 batches of brownies, especially since they're so inexpensive to make.

I saw a gray sweater with a UK flag on it ar Zara that I really liked and my boyfriend said he'd get it for me (am I the only one who feels awkward about getting stuff for no reason?), so I guess that'll be my Valentine's gift :)
Loved the card, it inspired me to make one for my boyfriend. No, it won't be too cheesy haha, he's actually very romantic.
