Bugger! My brother and nephew got the plague as well! At least you had a doting hubby and a sweet baby to snuggle. Glad to hear you survived ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's those kinds of gestures that can be more romantic, in a way, than the lovely grand ones. :) How comforting is it to know on a deep, visceral level that there's someone out there who's got your back?
ReplyDeleteOhhh I'm so sorry you got it and glad to hear you're feeling better! This bug is EVERYWHERE. I live in DC, and my brother, mom, and dad all had it; my boyfriend's entire office was out last week with it, and all the blogs I've been reading from Utah to LA to Pennsylvania have mentioned having it. YIKES!!! Sommmehow my boyfriend and I have escaped the madness so far-- fingers crossed we don't fall prey! Happy belated birthday to Alex! xx
ReplyDeletehope you feel better! a sick baby and a sick mama is no fun :(
ReplyDeleteI think now that you don't feel like you're dying...a Hot Toddy is in order!! And maybe a warm milk with cinnamon for Toby. Get well soon:)
ReplyDeleteugh! hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeletethe egg out west.
Drink plenty of tea with honey (my solution for everything) and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteoh sounds rough-sorry the birthday plans were ruined...but reading aloud sounds quite bliss.
ReplyDeletemight be the norovirus...it was just going around the baby circles in Boston, too
ReplyDeleteSo sorry the kiddo was sick. Hope you all get some rest today. He looks awfully cute in his picture though.

:( My two-year-old had a 24 hour bug this weekend as well and it was terrible! She couldn't fall asleep. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteGlad you and Toby are feeling better!! Hope you can celebrate your B-day now that you are better!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that does not sound like a fun way to spend your birthday. But at least one of you was well:) (I keep hearing about people getting sick... yikes.)
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
So sorry you and Toby were sick. But truly, such a dear husband.. I can't think of a more lovely way to fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteFeel better! I love it when my hubby reads to me. : ) That was so sweet. : )
ReplyDeleteAw, feel better!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, something is going around the East coast! I am in DC and almost everyone in our office, it seems, has gotten the 24-hour horrible sickness. So sorry you had to spend your birthday weekend in bed. But very glad you made it out alive. Isn't the world more beautiful? :)
ReplyDeleteoh that's the WORST. so sorry to hear you were sick! when I'm sick my husband reading to me is the only thing that can get me to fall asleep - and it's definitely romantic in its own way. hope you have a wonderful birthday!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope you're both feeling better! So far we've been lucky in that only one adult has been really sick at a time--but we know we can't count on that trend continuing!
ReplyDeleterest and hope you and toby get better soon!
ReplyDeleteI've been through the same thing week last weekend! Hope you're both feeling better!

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you were so sick. So many people I know are under the weather and completely out of it. So far we have been lucky but I have to keep my fingers crossed.

My mister and I are also under the weather. We caught this stomach flu bug that's been going around like an epidemic here in SoCal. It got so bad that my mister's company had people go home and stay home for 4 days. I got so scared about it, had to call my OB and Internist. Turns out it's called Norovirus....it's an aggressive strain of the stomach flu. These nasty buggers live on the surface for up to week! Apparently, it's suppose to blow over in about 2-3 days but need to stay away from people for another 48 hours. I was also told that even if we were getting better, we can be contagious for up to a week! Isn't that crazy!?! So be careful when you guys are out and about!
ReplyDeleteHope you & Toby feel better soon!!
xx
Happy to hear you guys are feeling better! Your hubby sounds like the sweetest man.
ReplyDeleteXx

ReplyDeleteMy daughter got the 24-hour bug as well. Not very pretty! Makes us all appreciate being in good health more, no?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear y'all are on the mend .... had my teenager-free weekend derailed by illness as well...hubs was too sweet reminding me that we have a lifeime of weekends. I heart him oh so very much!
ReplyDeleteFeel better, Joanna!
ReplyDeleteNothing worst than feeling gross. But what a nice hubby to take care of you two! If there was any positive to being sick, it is the help and care you see from your loved ones. <3

My little guy was really sick last weekend (high fever and terrible cough) so we layed around and by Monday I got the bug. My little guy was better by Thursday but mine turned into a sinus infection and by this weekend I was really bad off. My birthday is this Thursday and we have plans to take the little guy to Disneyland for the first time. I will be resting up to make sure we are in good health for our adventure! I'm so over feeling sick. Hope you are all on the mend. Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
ReplyDeleteJoanna, so sorry to hear you were ill! Toby looks adorable in the photo... is that, by chance, the blanket I sent you last year? I love sending them to new moms!!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and Toby are feeling better. I hope you'll have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteBlech. So sorry you're feeling so awful. Hope you're better soooon! I had some terrible bug over Christmas. Started 2 days before and more or less was over 3 days after. I could barely move. Wish i could send a magic cure over the miles to make you better. I know it sounds corny, but hot chicken soup really 'does' work! Here's to a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that you got the bug! My little one had it last week. Was better after 24 hrs and then relapsed, yuk!
ReplyDeleteOn a happy note, I wanted to thank you for your wonderful NYC Guide. It was an inspiration to us and we made our first trip to NYC right after Christmas. It was wonderful (and windy and cold). Thank you!!!
Oh no! I hope you're healing well. I just went through the same thing this weekend, got it from the baby I nanny. Feels like dying. It's been spreading to EVERYONE.
ReplyDeleteglad to hear you two are feeling better! these things are the worst!!!
ReplyDeleteLast year something similar took out BOTH the husband and myself and we took turn holding our 2 month old while the other one took to the bathroom, not pretty indeed!
Glad Alex was the hero and was able to take care of you two. I laughed out loud about the romantic bit about the reading you your book out loud until you fell asleep. Ah intimacy takes on a whole new level at times like these! ; )
