Happy (almost) New Year! This was a light week on the blog, but next week we'll be back to our regular scheduled programming. Do you have any fun plans for tomorrow night? Alex and I will be heading to our friends' apartment for blinis and Champagne, while Toby will sleep in his travel crib in their bedroom. Quiet New Year's Eves are my favorite. Have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few fun posts from around the web...The world's best new affordable hotels.
A sweet take on a bedtime story.
Fun shoe clips to jazz up black flats.
Fashion from a book.
Three years.
The world according to Michigan. (Fellow Michiganders will chuckle:)
Inspiring tomboy style.
How to host house guests.
Did you see this insane pie in Oprah magazine?
Louis C.K. makes me laugh.
Remember A Very Young Dancer?
Plus, three Cup of Jo posts you may have missed:
* Winter bicyclists.
* Chop onions without crying.
* Adorable families.

Happy New Year, Joanna! Sounds like a wonderful way to ring in 2012...I can't believe how fast the year went!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Hope the start of 2012 is fabulous for you!

Happy new year Jo! I have similar plans to you for tmr night
ReplyDeletehttp://missmollyfashions.blogspot.com/
My plan is to hit the early seating at Homeroom (http://homeroom510.com), this mac 'n' cheese joint in Oakland, for a mac 'n' cheese pairing with beer or wine. It's supposed to be a low-key alternative to all the fancy-shmancy expensive NYE blowouts. Just my thing since I'd like to go out this year but not have it be too crazy. :)
ReplyDeleteLots of cuteness in this one! I especially loved the Michigan shirt ... Sent it to a friend who has michigan tatooed on his body :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Wishing you a great 2012! Can you believe I still haven't planned what I will do? Long live spontaneity (I hope!)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you'll be having a safe and restful celebration! I'll be doing something similar with the fam. I've never been one to get all crazy to ring in the New Year.
ReplyDelete<3,
Christina
PS... a note on chopping onions, if you wear contacts you're good to go. I'll be in the kitchen chopping them up and completely fine, while my mom is three feet away crying! :)
For those who don't wear contacts, I hear putting it in the freezer for a little bit helps, too!
did you see the weight of that pie on the website? 14 lbs. fourteen. pounds! i can't even.
ReplyDeletehappy new year!
Thank you Joanna for making 2011 a little easier. Your blog is a gift I can count on to bring me at least 5 mins of rest and inspiration (who knew they could go hand in hand?) each day. I adore your talent & taste. Best wishes to you & yours in 2012. In adoration, Stacy

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Louis CK is great. I am so thankful for that guy being out there. We just started watching Louie and though I feel like I am clinically depressed after watching some of the episodes, it's still one of the very best shows ever.
