  7. How funny - I came home with a tabletop foosball table this afternoon for my husband.... since he's been SO stressed out lately, I didn't wrap it and put it under the tree, instead we set it up and played a super intense game before dinner so he could let off some steam. Best. Gift. Ever. (now I just need to get him the Back to the Future movies - since he hasn't seen them either... what's with that???)

Loreal are awful animal testers! Maybe consider a similar product from a humane company (especially since he apparently loves animals)? Keihls is bound to have something similar that didn't cause 15 dogs to die before it was put on the retail shelves.

  60. Hi Joanna,

I'm a big fan of your blog, but was sorry to see you included live lobsters on your gift list.

Sending live animals via fed ex is a brutal practice. I've made documentaries for National Geographic for many years and sadly, sending animals via mail is not as humane as you'd hope. Animals starve. They die of heat exposure. And etc. It's awful. Airports are not designed to deal in this kind of trade humanely.

I'd kindly suggest you exlude practices that brutalize animals from your list. (I checked the site you linked, they will send those animals live.) I felt it would be wrong not to mention something as you seem like a very, very nice person and might not have realized.

I'm a fan of your blog.

    Many thanks,
    Jennifer Hile

  63. Hi Joanna! I love your gift guide so much. However, this year, I'm annoyed with my family, so I'm really wishing I could be a bit grinchy with them and give them gifts like they give me every year. In that spirit, I did a take on your gift guide called "Gifts I'd *Really* Like to Give."

    Check it out: http://shesnotthemarryingkind.blogspot.com/2011/12/gifts-id-really-like-to-give.html
