Gift Guide Part #2: Your British Dad Who Took You on Camping Trips and Can Cook a Mean Bullet Potato Over the Fire.

Wool sweater, because every dad needs a good elbow patch. $118.
Steve Jobs biography, $18.
German camping utensil set, $12.
Magnets of your childhood photos, to jazz up his fridge. Nine for $19.99.
Hot air balloon ride, $250/person.
Beer-of-the-month club, the gift that keeps on giving, $37/month.
Rad salut flask, $22.

Print of Enzo Ferrari, the #1 dad hero, internationally. $75 to $259.

Gold cheese!!! $Bucks.
Filson dopp kit, because he always had one growing up. Felt very debonaire/James Bond. $90.
All-natural products from Vermont, $22 to 26.
Finnish snowball, $28, to keep on his desk and remind him of his childhood. It feels just like a packed snowball and crunches in your hand, like the real thing. (I swear, it's weird and amazing. Like a stress ball, but way better!)
Napoleon wine bottle stopper, $14.50.
United States cutting board, featuring his favorite state, $40.

P.S. More gifts for dads (and how to make bullet potatoes:)

I like the Finnish snowball. Also, my dad is such a kid at heart (like me! he's where I get it from:) I'm sure he'd be thrilled to go up in a balloon.

LOVE this list! Most gift guides include things you've already thought of but I've never seen a Napoleon bottle stopper or Gold cheese!

Very nice. My husband would go nuts over the hot balloon ride. An experience is a great gift for someone who doesn't need anything.

Joanna, I LOVE these magnets!! I went straight to PP to check them out, but it looks like the sets are all one picture, rather than an assortment. Is that offered somewhere else on the site that I'm missing? Thanks!

My father would prefer to be shot dead before wearing a sweater with elbow patches...or probably any sweater at all, really. One way to tell my dad isn't British...hahahahaha

We got my dad a Pennsylvania-shaped cutting board (complete with a heart over Philadelphia) for Father's Day this year. He is so incredibly hard to buy for, but I think he liked it. This year, we had a nice photo album made for him.

What a great list! I had such a hard time figuring out what to get my dad. He doesn't eat cheese and I got him a cutting board last year, so that knocked out a few of your suggestions unfortunately.

Have you ever heard of the hennessy hammock? It's a tent that hangs from two trees! The photo of german camping silverware reminded me of it. I have really been enjoying all of your posts for the past few months

Joanna, this is a GREAT post! I love all of these things, and I am not even a dad. :) Bravo. The Napolean wine stopper, and cheese board are especially suave.

I am actually trying to make cutting boards via design sponge this Christmas for people, not as nifty as the state designs, but I hope its a start :)

Wow -- the snowball looks crazy. Have you touched one, Joanna? Does it feel cold? I'm super curious!!

I think I might buy one for my meteorologist boyfriend, I think he'd love it since we live in the southern US and snow is scarce!

Totally bought the snowball for my sister-in-law who moved from the east coast to Oakland, CA a year ago! She misses the snow terribly! Perfect!

My dad is very hard to shop for, usually we get him clothes or books he has already picked out. Every year I try to find something original for him, but I was totally at a loss this year.
The Finnish snowball would be perfect. We live in Vermont, and he loves winter, and has a stressful job. This would be perfect for his desk at work!

Great list! I had seen the state cutting boards on another list! Bought one for my Dad. Also...you can choose where you want the heart to be!
