When I was pregnant, I would wear a black tee and black leggings, and Alex would call me Marcel Marceau. Since then, I've missed wearing leggings. They're chic, comfy, slimming and make you feel like Audrey Hepburn. So I just ordered this fun bag o' black leggings, which I plan to wear all year. Do you ever wear them? xoxo

I wear leggings every day! They're comfortable, although... I don't wear black ones. I hate black! It makes me look thinner.
ReplyDeleteLove leggings. Never tried EmersonMade. You'll have to let us know how they are!
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings all the time as well……but I am pregnant. LOL. They are definitely a maternity staple. I hope I can pull them off post-pregnancy as well though, I think I will miss them if not!
ReplyDeleteSome weeks I live in leggings. This week is one of those weeks
ReplyDeletePerfect! I'd love to wear more leggings too.
ReplyDeleteCan those of you who ARE pregnant please share where you buy your leggings? I am desperate. I live in a smaller city where I rely heavily on online shopping. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love how they look, but I am always wondering about what underwear to wear with them. Also, I have a flat bum and fuller calves and feel that I don't look as cute as the picture :(
ReplyDeleteWhen it isn't too cold, I LIVE in them. They look great with boots, sneakers, oversized sweaters, the works.
ReplyDeleteThe Marcel Marceau reference was cute, but MM ain't got nothing on you. :)
I do! I LOVE wearing them with long oversized sweaters during winter and chambray shirts paired up with ballerinas during spring:) Have a jolly good Christmas, Joanna! xo
ReplyDeleteI strongly believe that black leggings were one of the greatest inventions. I have about 6 pairs that I live in all year long! Definitely a must for every girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the do's and don'ts of leggings? What underwear? What length of top? Can you wear socks with them? I love wearing them, but am never sure if there are certain legging fashion rules I should be following!
ReplyDeleteLeggings are what I wear most when at home (I make my own) - merino in winter and cotton in summer. I spend alot of time on the floor either playing with my kids or pattern-making and grew tired of wearing holes in my good jeans! So leggings are the perfect choice. Those bag-o-leggings (3 pr?) are such a great deal.
ReplyDeletei LOVE leggings. american apparel makes a great pair, though even the $4 pair from forever 21 is good!
ReplyDeletei wear leggings all the time - and they were definitely a staple when I was pregnant. They are so comfortable - and as a new mother, very easy to pull a simple outfit together. Most of my leggings are from Boden - well made and so soft!
ReplyDeleteI love simple black leggings with a simple (or wild) top. I finally found a pair of black leggings that I love from Zara. I plan to wear them tons throughout the year.
ReplyDeleteI LIVE in leggings. I have probably 20 pairs in various colors, but black are my favorite stand-by :)
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings and a tee to tank top to ballet class, and I love the way I look and feel while wearing them.
ReplyDeleteMy friend just returned from a weekend in NYC. She said if you want to dress like a New Yorker, wear leggings and boots. Preferably black. My husband just picked me up some. I'm sick and at home.
ReplyDeleteOh, I completely agree! I wear them all the time, they're so chic! Nice call :)
ReplyDeletePIECE OF CAKE. PEACE OF MIND.
Wearing some right now! They truly are a wardrobe staple. I wear them all the time under dresses and oversized sweaters. I've never had the balls to wear them as pants with a regular sized shirt tho
ReplyDeleteIf you're looking for sassy "going out" leggings, instead of around the house leggings, I recommend American Apparel's Nylon Tricut: http://store.americanapparel.net/rnt38.html?cid=905
ReplyDeleteMy friends call them "liquid leggings" and they are especially slimming but comfortable. Plus the sheen makes your legs look even more fabulous!
I'm wearing some right now. I practically live in leggings during Fall/Winter. Leggings are perfect to dress up or dress down.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE leggings -- so comfy and easy to tuck into boots. Please let us know how the Bag O'Leggings turns out. I also agree with other readers: what are the rules for wearing leggings? Can they be substituted as pants? Should the bum be covered?
ReplyDeleteI love wearing black leggings! Nice purchase. I need to look in getting a bag for myself!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
B
i absolutely love leggings and wear them all of the time. i will convince myself that black leggings go with anything. so cozy... and i think they look great with black flats or high brown boots. thanks for the head's up on emersonmade's! im sure they will be wonderful.
ReplyDeletehttp://itsthelittle-things.blogspot.com
I'm 32 wks pregnant and they're my best friend since maternity jeans are too expensive..I try to incorporate some color leggings/tights also!
ReplyDeleteThey are totally comfy and absolutely necessary. I lived in them when I was pregnant too.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thegirlieblog.com
well, i'm pregnant myself and i love my leggings!
ReplyDeletei have cropped pairs, ankle length pairs... in black, grey and army green!
i love them... i wear them with dresses/skirts and boots all the darn time ESPECIALLY now that i'm pregnant and i don't foresee my tights fitting me this year. :) and maternity tights leave something to be desired...
i also wear them with tunics, but i'm less comfortable with that.
i've bought all mine from target... no complaints from me!
thanks for sharing your legging love,
Jessi

I wore JCrew leggings when I was pregnant and they are still a staple in my closet now that I am chasing 2 little people. They wear well and have the best waistband.
ReplyDeletewww.thesimplyfabulous.blogspot.com
All the time and I'm NOT pregnant. They're so flattering, though I tend to cover my bottom.
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to fold and get some. I have been so stubborn about not getting them because I have seen so many people in them that looked so well unflattering.
ReplyDeleteEver since I lived in England I have worn leggings all the time. Especially when I'm wearing jeans-the leggings insulate so well!
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings all the time in my current pregnant state.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE EmersonMade. Could she be any cuter??
i wear them all the time! with too-short skirts and too-long tops. with a jean skirt for a cute/casual look! they are so comfy and the extra layer helps your fall wardrobe become your winter wardrobe. i'm wearing gray ones right now!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually wearing black leggings right now! I always feel like Audrey Hepburn in them, especially with a cute pair of ballet flats.
ReplyDeleteEveryday my dear, everyday!!!
ReplyDeletei am currently pregnant and obsessed with wearing black leggings. they are so comfy & make me feel sexy (even though i am huge!).
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of extra long ones from Top Shop that are perfect for us tall girls!
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings all the time during school. I need to be comfy in order to listen to lectures...ugh.
ReplyDeleteI asked for Lululemon leggings this xmas so fingers crossed!
all. the. time. i love mine from lulu lemon.
ReplyDeleteOH yes. And good tip about them being good pregger pants. Well noted!
ReplyDeleteI wear them constantly! It cracks me up that EmersonMade sells a whole mess of 'em in a bag for us legging lovers.
ReplyDeleteI wear my black leggings constantly and I'm so tempted to get these!
ReplyDeleteThese look great - would you do a review once you get them?
ReplyDeleteI feel like leggings are the chic alternative to sweatpants...I have the occasional weekend where I live in them...I wear them to bed, throw on a sweater saturday morning for errands, change out the sweater for a chic sequin top and heels for Saturday night drinks, then a comfy tee for back to bed :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE black leggings! They are my I-work-from-home uniform!
ReplyDeleteI've currently been on a legging hunt, so I love this post. I've been surveying friends on a quest to find a pair that are thick enough, so when you bend over or stretch there aren't any surprises. Are these those leggings?
ReplyDeleteI bought the bag o'leggings during emerson made's cyber monday sale and you can't get me out of them! they're the best! and they come with a fresh smelling sachet which is also great!
ReplyDeleteI might wear them too much! They are just so chic and comfortable. Plus, anything that mirrors Audrey, I think is justified.
ReplyDeleteI love black leggings and wear them several times a week~enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI've never loved leggings, but if anything could get me to start, it's EmersonMade. Love their stuff!
ReplyDeleteTout le temps!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings at least 3-4 times a week. I am obsessed with them.
ReplyDeleteYou want black leggings that don't ball up, are of appropriate thickness, a good length, keep their color, and (let me finish)... give you the ass of an 18 year old? Lululemon, people. The price tag is scary, but your handsome heiny is totally worth it.
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings almost every day. They're perfect for aerial rehearsal and then crashing on the couch after :)
ReplyDeletedaily. love the bag o black leggings idea.
ReplyDeleteLeggings are so comfortable. In the colder months, I live in them!
ReplyDeletehahaha obviously.
ReplyDeleteHave you been on college campus lately?
I swear leggings and boots are standard attire.
yes yes yes joanna, i love them.
ReplyDeleteI could live in leggings! My favorite outfit this winter has been black leggings with chunky oversized sweaters. You can easily dress it up with accessories or sparkly flats, or keep it casual with boots. I was tempted to buy these ones from Emerson Made, but are they completely opaque? I went with J.Crew's signature leggings since I wasn't sure, but you'll have to let us know if these are! I'd definitely snag them.
ReplyDeleteI just saw someone wearing black leggings and a black tunic/dress. VERY cute!
ReplyDeleteAll the time! Love them and are a weekend staple. If only I could get away with wearing them at work..sigh..:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
i wear em all the time! actually, i barely ever wear jeans hehe :)
ReplyDelete♥Susie
the little forest
why are these leggings $68? I love black leggings and wear them all the time, but these must have superpowers to be so expensive.
ReplyDeleteLove leggings! Yet I also love tights. They fight over me constantly.
ReplyDeleteI have these!! They're great! I also love that I have 3 pairs!! Enjoy, I sure am!
ReplyDeleteA pair black leggins are essential, you can wear them in all sorts of ways. I really like them! Loved the Emerson ones, thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI live, breathe, sleep, eat, leggings. I have every single color imaginable. I never really wear jeans!
ReplyDeleteI actually started to wear them while I was pregnant too. Maternity pants are so unfashionable !!! And I still wear them now since they are so chic and comfy !
ReplyDeleteI'm all about black leggings! They're a staple in my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteWhen posts link to your sponsors, are they considered sponsored posts?
ReplyDeleteI was so, so, so happy when leggings came back. Black and grey leggings are the BEST! Especially before and during one's lady time, as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteI must have bought about thirty pairs of cheapie black leggings before I found my favourites--TNA leggings from Aritzia, in case any of you are looking for some good ones!
Those Emerson Made ones look swell too.
:)
I too wore leggings throughout my pregnancy! I need to wear them more often now!! Working on my Christmas day outfit now, and I think I shall incorporate them.
ReplyDelete@carrie try gap maternity...they have leggings...or did a few yrs back
ReplyDelete@joanna...pls let us know how these leggings are! everything is too thin and see thru so if these arent pls tell me!
I really do believe the mantra for leggings is that they are not trousers, ones top should always come below the crotch or they look hideous.
ReplyDeleteAll the time, I live in them at work.

Although I live in tights (real deal, heavyweight tights!) all winter, I loathe the look of leggings. Odd, I know, but I just can't get over the fact that they're not pants, but some folks insist on wearing them that way. It just seems...scandalous! Tee hee.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
mindi
all the time! nothing more comfortable than leggings :)
ReplyDeleteI love leggings and tights so much that I've nearly stopped wearing jeans!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a "best of Marcel Marceau" record. Two sides of silence bookended by audience applause.
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest here. there is a very small population of women who can really make leggings look good. The rest of us really should not be wearing leggings as pants and should not be joining in with this trend. At the end of the day, It is also questionable for anyone to even wear leggings as pants out and about in public without a tunic.
ReplyDeleteLove, love black leggings!
ReplyDeleteI live in black leggings. Love the post!
ReplyDeletewinter of last yr i only wore legging i trippled up in layers of leggings when it was really freezing.
ReplyDeleteyessss leggings! I usually wear with tunics. They certaintly are comfy and do make me feel slim.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I don't approve of people wearing them out with short t-shirts and therefore showing their buns in clear view.
Happy Holidays! from http://joggingpigs.blogspot.com/
Are you kidding! I love them. I can wear every color with many patterns:) But my fav. is black:)
ReplyDeletei love leggings, but carson kressley says leggings are not pants and that they're meant to be worn under long tops, dresses, etc. what do you think? i say, if you can pull off wearing them as pants go for it! but since i heard him say it, i feel a bit self conscious about it. :/ is that silly?!
ReplyDeletei'm wearing leggings right now! Sometimes i pretend i'm going to they gym just so i can wear them all day! x
ReplyDeleteAll the time! And I'm not exactly skinny either. :P
ReplyDeleteI realize that I only have 2 pair of actual pants. I have about 6 pairs of leggings, which I wear nearly every day. With sweaters, turtlenecks, boatnecks, flowing tunics, shift dresses, chambray button-up, whatever! (I'm also a yoga teacher, so it makes "changing for work" pretty darn easy, they make the best yoga pants.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite leggings are the high-waisted ones from American Apparel. I buy the packs of blue/black and they are so amazing because they don't give you any muffin-top, all tops lay beautifully against your stomach. (I am thin but had a baby so the tummy is always a bit looser now). Definitely recommend them! (they are cheap, too!)
I wish I had the booty to pull of leggings, a bit too much going on back there {haha} But love the classic look!
ReplyDeleteTHis reminds me so thoroughly of Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face during her dance in the bar.
ReplyDeletehttp://alittledestruction.blogspot.com/
Leggings are like my second skin. They are so comfy and I just wear tunics with them all the time. Now that I'm pregnant, that's all I want to wear instead of jeans or pants.
ReplyDeleteI am wearing them RIGHT NOW! Lovely grey Uniqlo ones with lace ankle elastic, they make me feel glam, even though I'm about to spend 8 hours in Economy JFK-LHR.
ReplyDeleteOh and I'm wearing them with a jumper dress, so my behind is most definitely covered.
My Mum wore leggings and baggy jumpers when she was pregnant with me in the 80s - it must be some kind of awesome pregnant lady uniform. :)
Um no. They are not "leggings" they are stretchy pants. One step below sweat pants. My husband and I make fun of girls wearing them without a shirt long enough to cover their butts. He said just today "it's so unfortunate how many women have had their pants stolen this year!". Audrey would wear tailored black ciggarette pants... Not sloppy, cellulite revealing, stretchy pants.
ReplyDeletePs- I'm shocked by how many commenters think they are flattering! FYI: If your're not a 0- they're not.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite leggings are the ones from Jcrew, they are super opaque and thick, so no worries about them being see through. One thing I love about leggings is that they can be worn under dresses and tucked into boots like tights but they are much warmer than tights.
ReplyDeleteI think the general rule is to make sure your behind is covered when wearing leggings, otherwsie you risk looking like a fashion victim.
Also, Jcrew makes a pair of skinny black pants called "pixie pants". I've tried them on and must say they are only slightly thicker than leggings, to me they are almost just as revealing and I don't know if I could pull them off. Anyone else tried the pixie pants?
ReplyDeleteLeggings are amazing! I wear them with tunics, long sweaters, under flannel dresses with boots...the options are endless!
ReplyDeleteThese look comfy. I live in my Lululemon black leggings (especially these days, with all the holiday cookie baking...and eating! Elastic is a lifesaver!)
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I wear leggings all the time because when I wear them I can bike in skirts without worries. I'd like to put in a vote for the american apparel winter leggings. They are super thick so they are both warm, and completely opaque. Though they are a little long...
ReplyDeletelove your blog!
It is too hot to wear leggings now but I do wear black capris and ballet flats so I can feel like Audrey ;)
ReplyDeletewearing them now! :)
ReplyDeleteAll. the. time.
ReplyDeleteWell, not all the time, but often. When I come home I put on my lounge outfit, which is usually black leggings, a jersey dress with a cardigan, and big, huge, chunky wool socks. Then I braid my hair, throw a winter wool hat and some fingerless gloves while drinking some tea so I can pretend I am living in a Toast catalog.
And then I wear them to work a lot, because I do a lot of baking there, or babysitting so I can crawl around on the floor and not worry about being comfortable or my butt being on display!
I really like though, this comment is getting long, the Pixie pant from J. Crew. I justify it because it's thicker than a legging, so really they're more like riding pants!
Love leggings! Instant chic, and go with literally everything I own.
ReplyDeleteUntil I find the perfect pair of black jeans...
I ordered these leggings and the tanks tops and it was the worst experience ever! The leggings wash so poorly (gentle cycle, etc.)! I love leggings, but not these! Not recommended!
ReplyDeleteI adore leggings. :)
ReplyDeleteDo I wear leggings? All. Of. The. Time. :) they are my go-to...pretty much all you'll see me in :) xo
ReplyDeletei used to wear leggings with everything almost everyday. have you tried the wet looking leggings yet? i got them as my uniform @ topshop 3 years ago, still in love with them. xxx
ReplyDeleteAllow me to present the LANP (Leggings Are Not Pants) link: http://www.thefashionpolice.net/2010/01/fashion-police-ruling-leggings-are-not-pants-and-tights-are-not-leggings.html
ReplyDeleteCover your a**es, ladies! Leggings are great but should be worn appropriately!
I believe therenis also a LANP Facebook page, for the truly interested (obsessed)...
i *love* leggings! my new winter fav is cudleduds- they're a daily must!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I absolutely love them! I wear black leggings just about everyday. I love that I they can be casual or dressy. They're definitely that one thing in my closet that I can't do without.
ReplyDeleteGreat (and so comfy!), with a long top, but I do believe that the notion that leggings with short tops can be flattering is delusional! Not good from front or behind! - although the clever shots of the lovely model here could almost convince me otherwise.
ReplyDeleteYes! Bought a new pair yesterday. Woear them with a long top and high boots. Happy Christmas, thank you for the inspiring reading this year.
ReplyDeletei wear them so much i've worn them ALL out. might grab a bag...
ReplyDeleteAll the time! Black, brown, blue...
ReplyDeleteI wear my leggings everywhere! I just ordered a really good quality pair online that were on sale and I cannot wait to receive them - my other cheaper pairs have completely worn out!
ReplyDeleteI live in leggings. It's like wearing pj's but you actually look fashionable - it's fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteEvery day of my life! with long tops when pregnant and now with a denim mini and boots. It's my mama uniform :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE black leggings. It is like wearing pjs all day! I need me some bag-o-leggings!
ReplyDeletemaking-our-nest.blogspot.com
Oh leggings...it's a really bad idea to wear clothing without real waist bands all the time! How will you know when your clothes don't fit?
ReplyDeleteAnd someone above mentioned that they are like fashionable sweatpants. She got the sweatpants part right! Just because everyone is wearing something doesn't mean it looks good! And for $68?? That's crazy! Buy a real pair of pants or two!
live in black leggings!! so comfy and chic! def feel like im walking around in Paris when I wear them with ballet shoes and they are so easy to just slip on a pair of boots over them and im out the door!
ReplyDeleteI live in them!! Leggings are one of my favorite things to wear!
ReplyDeleteI live in a college town where I see WAY too many girls in leggings who just can't pull them off. Sorry, but EVERYONE needs to cover their butt when wearing leggings! They are NOT supposed to look like tights! As long as you wear a tunic or long shirt/sweater, I think they're cute. Okay, off the soap box for now :)
ReplyDeleteI will join the few who've said it. Leggings are not pants.
ReplyDeleteThe lady (model) in that picture looks adorable in her tight black outfit, but very few people(almost nobody) look good like that.
I wear leggings all the time under dresses and with longer tops. (I have a horrific habit of shrinking things in the dryer, so when a dress comes out too short, leggings are almost always the solution.) I think the rule should be that the bottom and crotch are covered.
Love this blog and love your style, but I have 4 younger teenage/college sisters and I find myself saying this all the time. (Once more for emphasis!)
Leggings are not pants.
love the pic of you guys on your bikes!!
ReplyDeletei pretty much live in leggins, i have capris and long ones so i can wear them year round. black, brown, charcoal- i got 'em all. its a staple for a girl who rides a road bike in a dress!!
For Carrie: If you are pregnant you
ReplyDeletecan get "THE MOOD KIT".
You can choose the color and you feel so beautiful !!
www.oefshop.com
I love that leggings have made a comeback in the past few years... sooo comfy and they can look so smart! I just make a rule that if I'm trying to appear professional my top should come to the top of my thighs.
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm wearing them right now. :) So comfy.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of black leggings that I wear all the time. I think they may even be closer to that dark gray color now since I've washed them over and over and over again. I am in the market for a new pair soon......I may have to order the bag o' leggings too ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to get on my soapbox here. My friend and I find ourselves chanting the "leggings are not pants" mantra waaaay too often which says to me that most women do not understand how to wear them. They are unflattering except on a *very* small percentage of the population when worn as pants. I think a lot of women mistake comfort for style and do not have an accurate picture of what they look like from behind in leggings. If your tunic or sweater does not cover your backside, even when stretching to get something off a tall shelf, you should skip it. It's amazing to me how many women think it's fine to wear leggings with a shorter top. Ladies, if you are worrying about panty lines, your top is too short. Audrey would not have been caught dead in the stretched out, figure-flaw revealing legging-hers were slim (cigarette) cut trousers. Believe me when I say there's a world of difference. If the world can see your business, you are doing it wrong. *steps off soapbox*
ReplyDeleteI love leggings and I agree that the dress or tunic needs to be long enough. They can be very cute.
ReplyDeleteWearing them now. But would love to have some nicer quality ones.
ReplyDeleteBlack ones almost daily, but I plan to branch out and wear other colors soon, American apparel has a lot.
ReplyDeleteLove Them! If you told my 15 year old self that as an adult I'd be wearing stretchy pants daily, I might have ended it before it got to that point. Who knew?!? Comfort and style.
ReplyDeleteI love leggings but I have very strict leggings rules. I think they must be worn with something that covers the hiney. They're great with dresses or long shirts, but I cringe when I see women walking around in leggings and normal shirts. Worse when there are panty lines! I'd personally never wear the outfit pictured. I'd wear the shirt with trousers and the leggings with a tunic dress... but not together. I'm in the "leggings aren't pants" boat.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI think leggings are cool. I see a lot of women wearing them and I find them really sexy. I don't know, maybe because it shows the body figure of a lady. Thanks for posting.
Oh I LOVE to wear leggings. I have been for 6 years now. lol I remember hating them when I was growing up because jeans were the 'cool' thing. =P But Since then, I have found it to be soooo versatile. I can pop on a very chic top and heels and I'm set! =]
ReplyDeletealways,
mia from olivesandcoke.blogspot.com
i have to agree with the anonymous soapbox speech...
ReplyDeletei feel like leggings are best worn with thongs that don't risk a panty line and should not ever be worn with anything that doesn't cover your butt. i also don't think it is very flattering when leggings hit anywhere higher than, say, the lower third of your calf because then they make you look shorter and squatter.
but maybe going to university of maryland where leggings, maryland tees, and uggs were practically uniform made me bitter :)
I wear leggings almost all the time! They are so comfy!
ReplyDeletehttp://weezngmonkeys.blogspot.com
Oh yes, I lived in black leggings during my pregnancy. Haven't worn them since, thanks for reminding me.
ReplyDeleteBlack leggings actually came up in our Christmas eve dinner conversation! It was a unanimous decision amongst the men at the table that leggings are quite possibly the least flattering thing a woman can wear! We were all surprised...and disappointed!
ReplyDeleteMaria xx
www.cheekypinktulip.blogspot.com
I love leggings worn with ballet flats and a long top!
ReplyDeleteBut I must agree with the anonymous rant - they were a fashion trend here (in Australia) this winter just gone and all these teenagers started wearing them as pants, so I think there's 2 questions you should ask before you walk out the door in leggings:
1) Does my top cover my bum?
If not (or if it only just does)...
2) Are these leggings nice thick ones that aren't at all see-through? (You may need to stand by a window to see this accurately)
for wearing leggings your legs have to be perfect and yours are! fantastic photos!
ReplyDeletehttp://silviainvenice.blogspot.com/
I have wanted to wear leggings; but, never felt slim enough until I started pilates and just read this post. What sort of top would you wear with them? I want to get now!!
ReplyDeleteI wear leggings all the time - for me they have replaced jeans as an everyday classic. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and most of my pre-pregnancy leggings still fit. They are instantly chic. The trick to looking chic in a legging as opposed to frumpy or like you are about to go for a run is to pick leggings with a thicker material - like a tailored soft cigarette pant almost. Alternatively something with a bit of sheen also works and a good waist is a must - nothing that sits too low to accent any love handles.
ReplyDeleteI wear my leggings with loose tops. I like to pair the simplicite of a legging with a luxe top in silk or lace or a great print.
Maybelline Mascara Sample - Request Yours Now!
ReplyDeletenot so sure i can buy into the "leggings as pants" thing...i believe that they need a tunic or dress over them. perhaps i'm old-fashioned.
ReplyDeletefor those of you who are preggers, i highly recommend h&m mama jeans. not sold online here in the states, but when you find them in store, grab as many as you can. great deal and incredibly comfy.
Love Vince leggings, they have seams down the back, have a very polished look and the knees don't bag out. I too believe that crotch and behind must be covered. (unless you are between the ages of 2-12) If you are thin enough to wear leggings as pants, buy a pair of 7 black "jeggings" I love mine! I also prefer flats (preferably Delman) with leggings (no socks)and boots or booties with jeggings.
ReplyDeleteI live in leggings!! American Apparel and Lulu Lemon are my favorite :)
ReplyDeletehttp://becauseimtwentysomething.blogspot.com/
i live in black leggings. under minis. with long tops. and to exercise. love the american apparel ones!
ReplyDeleteI do and I love them but I do also think they look best on an Audrey Hepburn type- which I'm not sadly- I'm now more into really thick black opagues as I think they're more sculpting, though not as comfortable
ReplyDeletegood post!

ReplyDeleteI am living in leggings at 29 weeks pregnant with twins. Funny that your husband called you Marcel Marceau, mine recently said I looked like an Audrey Hepburn ninja because I paired my black leggings with a longsleeve black top with a beaded neckline and pearl earrings for a holiday party. Boys...
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very interesting, I like it very much, you can welcome to have a look uggs sparkle, I hope you will like it
ReplyDeletei wear black legging almost everyday because it's make me look thinner and it's the only pants which i can fit in :(
ReplyDeletei am currently traveling in india and am wearing my black leggings every day. seriously, thank goodness for leggings!
ReplyDeleteYES to black leggings!
ReplyDeleteI wore them throughout my recent pregnancy and definitely need a new pair.
Just went to the Emerson Made site andthey are sold out...I'll have to search for some from another source
Thanks!
Jennifer
I have a pair of black velvet leggings from Vera Wang for Kohl's that I absolutely adore. They are warm, great for layering, and luscious in the winer.
ReplyDeleteI bought the bag o leggings in November, and while I LOVE Emersonmade anything (and the lavender sachet that comes in the bag), these do not hide your lady parts / thong in the sunlight. Great underneath a dress but definitely not a replacement for pants. I'll second the vote for Lululemon leggings though.
ReplyDeleteSo funny Le mime Marceau! Every time I wear black legging and T-shirt, my husband asks me if I am going to burgle a jewelry store!!

I lived in Isabella Oliver's ruched maternity leggings with a long tank, t-shirt, sweater or dressy top for all three trimesters of my last pregnancy and loved them.
ReplyDeleteWith thicker material than most leggings, ruching details at the ankles to dress it up and a waist band that could be pulled up to cover the bump or rolled down for comfort, they were definitely worth the not-to-steep price tag.
magnificent points altogether, you simply won emblem new|a new} reader. What could you suggest in regards to your publish that you made a few days ago? Any positive?
