Have you ever worn false eyelashes? They sound so pretty. I'd like to wear some with a regular sweater and jeans. What do you think?P.S. These are insane!!!

always wanted to, but never have tried... you will have to share as soon as you try them, with all the best tips.
ReplyDeleteThe last ones are REALLY insanes. Just for carnival. :P
ReplyDeleteMy eyelashes are almost non-existent so I wore them for my wedding. They really do make a difference! Loved how my wedding makeup turned out as a result. I love it when makeup enhances natural beauty (or something that should be natural...haha).
ReplyDeleteremember anne hathaway on the Oscars? she looked AMAZING in them.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever see the ones made from fly legs?
ReplyDeletealso my friend wears false eyelashes sometimes and looks sooooo good. totally wide awake and beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteAh, not so sure i could pull this off -- no pun intended. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love them. I only wear them when I need a little extra drama. They make me feel so glamorous!!
ReplyDeleteI lucked out and got long, perfect lashes, so I never really use falsies. But for fun parties or dress up events I'll sometimes wear them; they completely transform my eyes!
ReplyDeleteew, fly legs, that is SO GROSS!!!!!
ReplyDeletecute! i LOVE them! i'd like to wear them for holiday parties & just for hanging out!! so pretty.
ReplyDeletei wear them alot, i love them!
ReplyDeleteheres my blog post with me wearing false lashes
http://sammy-city.blogspot.com/2011/11/make-up-looks.html
do! let's wear them on our date in december!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen this old ad, joanna? I love it!
ReplyDeletehttp://pinterest.com/pin/437593107/
They're like shaving your legs. You don't have to do it until you first try it.
ReplyDeleteI wracked my brain and heart on whether to wear them for the wedding but I ultimately decided not to, because that's not what I was born with and it was important to me to get married as-is.
I think that they look nice, but I didn't love them the one time I actually wore them, to my second reception. So maybe. But the second set are sweet..
ReplyDeleteI wore false lashes to my wedding, and I loved them so much I didn't take them off for 2 days! Super gross but they just kept looking awesome, I couldn't help it :)
ReplyDeleteyes! the first time was my wedding actually. my makeup artist added these individual lashes that looked so natural and popped my eyes in the most sophisticated and delicate way!
ReplyDeletefrom there on, I've bought the kits and use them only on special occasions (because they require time, patience and precision!) but they make a statement instantly! It's so glamorous!!

I want to pull these off!! HOw fabulous is she is this photo. And her hair! and the oreo brownies. I'm obsessed. Love your blog!

Yes! I love false lashes for special occasions. I always have my make-up artist sister apply them, but her tricks are;
ReplyDelete1) Buy them from MAC
2) Trim them to fit the length of your eyelid
3) Bend them back and forth to loosen them up so that they form to the shape of your lid
4) After applying the glue, wave them around for ten seconds to let it set before applying to your lid
5) Very carefully apply a coat of mascara once they are on so that they blend well with your real lashes
Happy Lashing!
Such a do! Did you not wear them at your wedding?
ReplyDeletei'm a big proponent of fake eyelashes. i don't wear them every day (though i know someone who does - wouldn't that be SO time consuming?) but i love to wear them for special occasions and big events...or, ya know, just dinner and a movie.
ReplyDeleteThey're so fun! I first wore them for prom and felt like Bambi!
ReplyDeleteI have also tried the eyelash extensions which look supernatural (gorgeous but plausible. I would only recommend them for special occasions--while they are comfortable and you wake up feeling like a goddess, they're expensive to keep up (every 2-4 weeks) and eventually diminish your natural lashes. I don't have a lot to begin with, so it's not something I can spare.
I now use RevitaLash which I LOVE! Instead of having short straight lashes, I now have long, curled lashes! I need mascara to make them stand out, but I don't even need to curl them anymore!
ps--those fly leg ones are GROSS!
do!!!!!!! they make you look pretty instantly without looking like you have a bunch of makeup on.
ReplyDeleteI was once told that they rip out your real eyelashes, so I have been too scared to try them. That picture is really adorable though!
ReplyDeleteTry them, you'll love them. I usually stick to special occasions, but only because I don't want to pay for them all the time. But they are definitely worth it for the impact.
ReplyDelete~Stop Me if You've Heard This One
@ Anna: the eyelash extensions can if you try to remove them yourself, but I've never had problems with the eyelash "strips."
ReplyDeleteNever tried them. I'm a scaredy cat.
ReplyDeleteI wore Shu Uemura lashes for my wedding and after I saw the pictures, I wondered why I don't wear them every day! They really do add that extra something special...but I'm careful to only wear them for very special occasions.
ReplyDeleteMy sister used to wear false eyelashes. They looked really good on her!
ReplyDeleteI wear fake lashes for events that I may cry, or events that will go on for a very long time (I have an eye rubbing/ makeup smearing habit). They are great! They don't take long to apply, and I don't need to wear mascara! (Having black lashes already helps, but these add important length!)
ReplyDeletei love the ardell individual lashes and use them at the outer corners only for added kick to fancy nights out. three on each upper lid and you are doe eyed and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm a lash addict!...although I get lash extensions. Basically the technician applies individual lashes to each lash and they last on average about 3 - 4 weeks. It's definitely a bit more of an investment...also...you have to brush out your eyelashes each day with a dry mascara wand (this was definitely new to me)...but the investment is WORTH it because it totally simplifies my make up routine. I just put on lipstain and I'm out the door in the morning. (Although I DO miss that satisfying feeling of rubbing your eyes in the morning!).
ReplyDeleteBubbs...
www.paris-on-my-mind.blogspot.com
I always wanted to but chickend out in the end - I heard that it really hurts to take them off?!
ReplyDeletei've worn them with halloween costumes. I have long eyelashes that naturally curl, so i have to get the absurdly long ones. One set i wore did a good job for a Mad Men costume i wore. They were shorter, but made them super thick. they are really easy to wear.
ReplyDeleteI wore Twiggy lashes for Halloween when I was a little kid (I was Twiggy:)...I don't actually need them. Peeps ask me "Why are you wearing false eyelashes?" often. Um, I am not wearing any. And it's rude to ask that anyway.
ReplyDeleteI would if I thought it would help. Eyelash curler works well for most ppl.
i have when it was halloween and it made my eyes so big and beautiful! but...they are uncomfortable! and time consuming (especially with an 8 month old crawling everywhere, it's hard to spend 20 minutes on lashes!)
ReplyDeleteSmoking Crayolas Blogspot
The fly legs are pretty gross, but also pretty fascinating. They definitely only work from an artistic perspective though. I don't think that they are going to start teaching the fly leg lash-extension technique in cosmetology school anytime soon, hehe.
ReplyDeleteYes I love false lashes, they add such a glam touch. And with jeans and a tee that's a perfect idea, great glam-casual mix.

I just wore them for the first time at a wedding...I was totally resistant, but MAN, do they make a difference. It was thebest pop to an eye!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a subtle pair that enhance your natural beauty, but you have to be careful! I knew a girl in college that wore these super thick ones everyday! It looked like they were weighing down her eyelids. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI wore them for my wedding....they looked lovely, quite natural, but felt weird.....I knew they were there!
ReplyDeleteSome of the new mascaras are fab...I use an AVON a mascara.....wow! I get the best lashes EVER!
melx
I love falsies! But, I save mine for nights out. Living in San Diego I feel over dressed in them. I watched a bunch of you tube videos on how to put them on.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to but never got around to it. Definitely want to try them for some of my upcoming events. Hopefully they won't fall off! =)
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in the city I wore them when I went out with my girlfriends on the weekend. It was so much fun. We loved how they looked in pictures, and it just feels good to be girly!
ReplyDelete-Audra
I wore some ver natural ones for my bridal portraits and LOVED them!!
ReplyDeleteI've used them when I performed a couple of years ago. It was a pain taking them off. And I wouldn't recommend them for any occasion outside the stage or shoots; you'll get too used to them and find your own too sparse only making yourself more insecure. And then next to that, it's just another thing to worry about; are my lashes still in place? When do I take them off?
ReplyDeletetotally. for special occaisions they rock.
ReplyDeletei've never tried them but i have been wanting to lately. maybe i'll get some!
ReplyDeletekate
False eyelashes are great! My good friend is a makeup artist and she says that you can use the individual lashes. They are much easier to apply and you get the same affect with much less work. Just adding a few to the corner of your eye makes a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried them yet, but am curious to try. I think they really make one look extra chic and pretty. My favourite makeup artist on youtube (and she has a website and blog) recently did this suuuper gorgeous make-up tutorial in which she used some false lashes. Her name is Lisa Eldridge, check her out, she is beautiful, has the most soothing British voice and does amazing tutorials! She even has one just on applying false lashes.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try! Would you do a tutorial for us, Joanna?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was dancing they were like my other half, but now I save them for when I need to look extra special. I would wear them daily but I have a fear that the glue will come off and I will have a strip of eyelash dangling around like a little bug hanging out... ew
ReplyDeletemmmmmmmm
ReplyDeletei do not know
They look great but
they do not look very confortable...
www.mykitschworld.blogspot.com
definite do! i used to wear them out but then developed an allergy to the glue - sad!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a make-up artist so I have definitely worn false lashes. I'll tell you, though, they can be super annoying that I generally can't wait to yank them off. Maybe they won't bug you, though.
ReplyDeleteSo instead, I started using Latisse 6 months ago and my lashes are super long and thick now! That stuff works for sure!
I've tried them one, and fell in love with them. it makes your eyes look more beautiful. the trick is to buy one's thant don't look to false.
ReplyDeleteI grew up dancing and wearing false eyelashes regularly. Now, I'll throw them on just cause it's Friday night.
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
You definitely need to try individual lashes! Ardele makes the best ones -- you can find them at most drug stores and they're only like $4. Just use tweezers, dip the end in glue, wait about 15-20 sec and just drop them in with your regular lashes (after mascara). I promise it's easy, they look so natural and you won't feel them!
ReplyDeleteYou can trust me, I worked for Sephora for more than five years!
I love the way that they look but I have never tried putting them on myself...I agree I think that they would be really pretty with a simple blouse or sweater and jeans. Those paper ones are completely insane! I wonder what they would look like on...if you try them PLEASE post a picture :)

Sure I did wear false lashes, they do look amazing, but takes a while to get used to,as at first it feels like there's something bothering your eyes!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my new posts,as I update daily
http://dc2nyconfessions.blogspot.com
I *love* false eyelashes. There are so many out there now, that you can go from natural to very dramatic depending on the occasion. I used to wear them for pageants, and now I just wear them out for special occasions.
ReplyDeleteSuch a do!
I wore them on my wedding and LOVED having them for the pictures (they looked really natural, just more full than usual) but on our wedding night I forgot the remover stuff that they come with and was basically scrubbing them off. OUCH. Worth it though... totally worth it. :)
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to, but can never think of a time that it would be okay. Maybe I'll start vacuuming in them! Remember the crazy good looking ones that Jennifer Lopez wore?
ReplyDeletei wish that i could get away with them!!!!
ReplyDelete♥ allister bee blog
I wore fake eyelashes a lot when I danced competitively, but I also wore them when I got married. My eyelashes are really thin so the fakes really helped my eyes "pop" more in the photos. I would definitely recommend playing around with the individual lashes. They take longer to glue on (because you have to do them separately), but they are much more subtle!
ReplyDeleteI haven't, but I definitely would for a nice event. There are so many options! I know a LOT of women wear them for their wedding.
ReplyDeleteYes! I wear them sometimes for special occasions :) I love the way they look and that you don't need any additional make up- they make your eyes pop!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.sealedwithakay.com
i wear fake eyelashes everyday! once you do it, you cant go back.
ReplyDeleteI've gotten eyelash extensions before. LOVE THEM! Definitely nice for a vacation or a time when you don't want to be wearing mascara all the time.
ReplyDeleteyes i wear them for special occasions like weddings, birthday parties, etc! :) i really like wearing them! by the way i love your blog!! all your posts are so interesting :) definitely following your blog! hopefully you can check out mine too :)

I've always loved the look of really striking eyelashes that make a statement with really simple casual clothes. But I don't think I could handle wearing false lashes everyday even though I totally agree they'd be amazing just for jeans and casual outfits.
ReplyDeleteI just used them for the first time this last weekend to my husband's Marine Corp Ball. I loved it! I had a little trouble getting them on, just because I had never done it. But once they were on, they looked fantastic. I felt like I looked wide awake, and it just gave an extra little pop of glamour. I will for sure be using them again :)
ReplyDeleteI tried some for the first time over the weekend...and absolutely LOVED them!! I felt like a right 60's doll! So so easy to apply and remove too
ReplyDeleteI love fake eyelashes I wear them to most special event. Once you get used to them they are really easy to put on to. I recommend getting some good quality ones like MAC and their glue too. Also I think a little individual eyelashes are a lot easier to put on and you can't feel them the way a strip can feel heavy on your eyes. You should definitely try them they are so fun.
ReplyDeleteIf I have to put them on myself I use the Revlon with the adhesive strip already attached. I read that Olivia Palermo uses them as well in a magazine a few years ago. Easy!
ReplyDeleteI wear them only on special occasions. they look so good...
ReplyDeleteI wore them to my best friend's wedding as a bridesmaid. We didn't put mascara on them, so they weren't too dramatic, just an extra flirty touch. However, my husband (fiance at the time) and dad both said they preferred the natural. I thought it was funny of them to even notice!
ReplyDeleteI've worn them once, for my wedding. My girlfriend did them for me (after 4 make-up trials with her, don't experiment on the day of!) and they looked wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI've got pretty long but fine and light lashes. She did 3 individuals on the outer edge of each eye and we trimmed them ever so slightly so they didn't look too unnatural. For a holiday party or every day type look, I'd just do one or two individuals on the outer edge and trim. Jane Marie from The Hairpin has a tutorial on applying false lashes.
I've tried numerous times but could never get it right...so I gave up on them. Maybe I'll try again sometime...
ReplyDeleteI'm not brave enough. I think I've seen the old 'Yours, Mine, and Ours' with Lucille Ball one two many times - "Your irish coffee is winking at me" bahaha. Such a good movie!
ReplyDeleteI wore them a lot When I was a kid for ballet performances. More recently, my makeup artist did the individual ones for my wedding. They looked great! It definitely takes some practice. I recommend using a straight pin to apply the glue.
ReplyDeletei think they look so good.
ReplyDeletei have seen them on more and more people lately!
I think it looks gorgeous, but I haven't found the occasion for them yet. :)
ReplyDeletei've worn them for events and things but definitely not for an every day type look. love these though!

I used to have a set which were just perfect for me, alas, the vacuum got them :(
ReplyDeleteI've only ever worn them for wedding-related stuff, i.e. for my bridal portraits and on my wedding day. I think they make a big difference for those trying to achieve a more glamorous look, or for those like me who just have short eyelashes. I prefer to use really good mascara rather than fake eyelashes, but I still think they're fun!
ReplyDeletelately i've been wanting to try false lashes so badly but i'm not brave enough... yet! i love your idea, casual outfit but glam lashes, and then i'd add a pretty clear gloss for a fresh look.
ReplyDeleteps-went to Co. last week with my cousin when i was staying with him in chelsea. oh my gosh, it was my favorite night out, we ate SO much!:)
Love love love. False lashes bring out the glam side of any girl. I'd wear them more often if I felt like going to the trouble. I usually just wear them for those nights when I need a little extra va va voom. So fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm not sure if I can pull that off...
ReplyDeleteI've worn them when modeling for a photographer friend who was obsessed with false eyelashes. They feel very strange to me and sometimes take a while to apply properly, so I would only do it again for a costume or very special occasion.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to put on fake eye lashes. I can never get them to stay on or look natural. I look like I have a second pair of eye lashes. It's a cute look, but sadly I cannot seem to muster it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI adore fake eyelashes! They are so much fun, did you know Edie Sedgwick would ware two pairs at a time?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE false eyelashes and always wear them for special events. so subtle but so fun!!
ReplyDeleteI love false eyelashes and wear them for big nights out on the town!
ReplyDeletexoxo
molliee
Have tried them out once. SO fun and fancy feeling, but no one knew -- kind of like wearing lacy underpants. Only issue was that they added what felt like 10 lbs to my eyelids.
ReplyDeleteI love falsies!!! They make me feel so sexy!
ReplyDeleteit's a DO! i wear them about once a week! (I'm also a hairdresser, so it's a bit more acceptable for daytime with me. might be a little intense in an office setting.)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!!!
ReplyDeleteI love them on other people, but they make me feel like a drag queen (and not in a good way).
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a big fan. If you get the right ones then it just opens up your eyes vs. looking spidery.
ReplyDeleteTip #1: If the whole row seems like too much then cut them in half and just place them on the outer half of the lid.
Tip #2: Don't get "clear" glue, by glue that dries black.
I have super long lashes natural (I'm middle eastern) but I like to wear false lashes when I go out on special occasions, like a xmas or nye party. They're fun to use to dress up your look and give it a little extra something.
ReplyDeleteXo
Edit: *buy glue. . .
ReplyDeleteOh, and one more tip. The type of fake eyelashes that aren't a thick row--the ones that have more variety to the length tends to look more natural. I also go for ones that get a bit longer in the outer edges.
These can totally enhance your look if done well. For just a bit of fullness I'll add a few individual ones here and there in between lashes. :)
ReplyDelete@skinnyjeansmom
http://blogs.inlandempirefamily.com/2011/11/11/coolest-kids-clothes-harajuku-mini-and-i-want-candy-collections/
I wear them to my ballroom competitions, along with lots of glitter--the bigger and sparklier your eyes look, the better!
ReplyDeleteyes most defiantly! just make sure if you by them and put them on yourself have good glue lol. and my friend she gets them professionally done she has them on so much i dont know what she looks like with out them they are so natural. they are fun very fun just like anything fake make sure they dont fall off lol.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely a do!!! Although I will advise be careful when you take them off, you don't want to tear off any permanent eyelashes. I always take mine off in the shower or right after, it does less damage.
ReplyDeleteDo! Do! Do! I wore them for my wedding last month, and now I'm determined to put them on more often. A lovely gal I work with wears them all the time and she looks fantastic. Sometimes it's just that extra kick to make you feel good :)
ReplyDeleteI;ve also been known to wear the individual ones for a night out. With my little ones, I wear them a lot less often than I did before, though.
ReplyDeleteMight be fun to try the fancy ones, though!
I did .. wore them when I went out at night .. I haven't worn any in years, maybe I will give it a try again. I loved them.
ReplyDeleteThose eyelashes that you said the link to are INSANE! I love the ones in the picture, they would go good with sweaters and jeans.
ReplyDeleteI do, I do, I DO! False lashes are so much fun and they can quickly glam up any look.
ReplyDeleteI love fake eyelashes so much I tried getting eyelash extensions once- but they drove me insane so I pulled them all out!
http://thebinkibox.blogspot.com/
I dooooooooo :D
ReplyDeletevenusisinmars.blogspot
One time I tried applying them for my friend while I was drunk. I ended up putting them both on one eye.
ReplyDeletei LOVE them and would have them in a heartbeat if i could afford the semipermanent ones. I had them professionally applied for my wedding and got tons of compliments! They make such a huge difference in my appearance!
ReplyDeleteMy mother actually just introduced me to them! She is a pro and they look gorgeous on her!
ReplyDeleteYES! Used to model, loved it when they added the fake lashes. I wish I knew how to do it myself. Could really use the help of lashes these days...
ReplyDeleteI normally only wear them when I go out but I wouldn't mind wearing them more often is they didn't take so long for me to put on.
ReplyDelete-Ly
http://www.lyzhang.com
Oh yes. They are such fun. Why not!?
ReplyDeleteI wore them for my sister's wedding, and I LOVED them! They were so much fun and I felt my eyes really popped in a good way!
ReplyDeleteI have had mates who have got eyelash extensions - basically they glue individual lashes on to your own - takes around 2 hours but lasts for up to six weeks - you can also get refills - they recommend you get them refilled every three weeks if you want to maintain them - they look hot and you can still use mascara!
ReplyDeleteTry individuals to start rather than the stripes, they look more natural. If you like them and don't want to pay a ton for lash extensions, you can always just use a special glue that keeps them on for a month. I have to get a new bottle myself so I can always find out the name for you.
ReplyDeleteYanira
http://manolosmanicuresthismom.blogspot.com/
I've never worn them. But I want to!
ReplyDeleteI wore fake eyelashes when I was the maid of honour for my best friends wedding. I got glue in my eye and in every picture it looked as though I had major pink eye or I had been crying for days. hahaha. I got eyelash extensions for my wedding and they lasted a month and a half. I felt fabulous everyday!!
ReplyDeleteFalse eyelashes can totally be the cherry on a perfectly dressed cake. Twiggy is really the ultimate poster child for false lashes. If I am correct she also drew some of the bottom lashes on with liner.

Fake anything body-related = totally weird!
ReplyDeleteI am in love for eyelashes!

Try this Jo, Very simple and VERY effective, hope it helps!
ReplyDeletehttp://56torivington.blogspot.com/2011/10/lengthy-addition.html
yes for wedding + engagement shoots!! they make you look so fem :)
ReplyDeletealso @houseofmilk, your comment made me laugh out LOUD. i almost did the same thing. haah.
ReplyDeleteI got eyelash extensions from JJ Eyelashes in NY last year. Gorgeous, but expensive. To recreate the look, I've started wearing false lashes. For painless removal, just hold a wet wipe (regular baby wipes) over your closed eye for a few seconds. The strip will fall right off.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely do them - so dramatic, just tough to apply.
ReplyDeletefalse eyelashes are becoming so mainstream, but they still sound so high-maintenance to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, I do find myself wondering if I should learn how to apply them, since I tend to highlight my eyes anyway... :-)
Love them!
ReplyDeletehttp://pinklemonincrystal.blogspot.com
False lashes with the bottoms like the ones pictured remind me of A Clockwork Orange, so I would have to say no to that. But more importantly, can you imagine being on a date and forgetting that they're there, only to touch your eye, laugh, or make some inane gesture and have them fall out onto your plate or something? These are the kinds of things that keep me up at night. :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely wear them to any party! Especially if I'll be photographed. It takes no time once you get the hang of it, and drug store brands are often 'buy one, get one' so I stock up. Lashes + lipstick= done!
ReplyDeleteFalsies are so much fun! Its equivalent to trying on your moms heels when your five! Playing dress up when your older!

I have definitely tried falsies, but only for halloween. I know people who do use them on a regular basis and love them. You need to be careful though b/c sometimes the glue stings if you don't apply it properly. ALSO there is something new - can't remember what it is called - but they are a more permanent eyelash addon. People do it for you, and they fall off naturally after awhile. They are thick and beautiful and you don't need mascara.
ReplyDeleteI've worn them but I'd be a liar if I didn't note that I had some issues getting them on!
ReplyDeleteBeautyful photograpy.
ReplyDeleteMarta.
http://lacalilazul.blogspot.com/
Much like liquid liner, it's one of those things I could never master. With my wimpy lashes, I really could use them though!
ReplyDeleteYes! Go for it.. use Duo eyelash glue in gray. It last for hours and hours!!! Look on youtube for tutorials on how to apply them. That's what I did. Believe me, practice makes perfect. If you don't get them on correctly, they'll poke the inner corner of your eye all night long!
ReplyDeleteI wear them a few times a month. You can find them for a resonable price at Ulta or Walgreens!
Do! But the right ones!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely DO!
ReplyDeleteDo!!
ReplyDeleteThese eyelashes are spunky and fun! How great would they be to wear through out this holiday season!?! I also love the strip style eyelashes.

DOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeing a girl who has naturally LOW impact eyes, I have found them to be a wonderful way to add drama. I use them for really special nights out, parties, and once you get the hang of them, they are so easy... it takes a confident hand, and tacky glue (set it for about 30 seconds before applying)... LOVE THEM!!!
www.evabstyle.blogspot.com
I've always kind of wanted to try them I don't know why since I already have thick long lashes! Secret, I use to cut my lashes because they were too long people thought I was crazy. If you only knew how annoying they can be :)
ReplyDeleteThey're easy to wear (I've been wearing them since I was 16). You do need to trim them to fit your eyes properly which most people don't seem to do. Once the are trimmed (they don't start in the inside corner of your eyelid. Try 1/8-1/4 of an inch up. Also you need to bend the eyelashes back and forth between your fingers to make the strip the lashes are on flexible for fitting on your eye. A light bit of adhesive(white adhesive dries clear)on the lashes strip and then place on your eye(see where Twiggy's start?) and there you go.
ReplyDeleteYou can check the position by holding a small mirror above your eye and look into the bathroom mirror. Easy peasy really, just practice.
I tried back along for the first time. It was the hardest thing ever and I certainly did not get it right. Mind you it was for hallowe'en so it didn't really matter.
ReplyDeleteThey look cute on Twiggy but they always make me think of "A Clockwork Orange"
ReplyDeleteDO! i fail terribly at applying makeup - except these. heavy lashes with nude lips. perfection! my little five year old daughter fell in love with rainbow shu uemura lashes!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE false eyelashes! I usually only do them when I'm on the stage or for special occasions, but occasionally for a date night I'll to half-falsies or a couple of the single clumps, just for a little added oomph. They make such a huge difference!
ReplyDeleteI think they are so unnatural and phony looking. Just like fake boobs and acrylic nails.
ReplyDeleteYes! I've been wearing eye lash extensions for about 6 months now and I can't stop. I love how awake I look and never need to wear eye makeup. It's so easy!
ReplyDeleteLove'em!
ReplyDeletei wore them once. and you picked the perfect picture, because when i wore them it was for halloween and i was twiggy. :-)
ReplyDeletei tried them once and looked like a she-male... it was pretty scary.
ReplyDeletehow are twiggy's bottom lashes done? i love the bottom lashes!!!!
My auntie does the individual false eyelashes. It takes 3 hours to have them put on because she glues then to each eyelash. She did them for my wedding and i'm so grateful she sis. I cried like a baby. And i woke up looking beautiful every morning. The on ly problem with them is that you have to have them retouched every 4 to 6 weeks and its not cheap but i loved having them done. I wish i could have them forever.
ReplyDeleteI've worn them at the last few weddings I've gone to and am OBSESSED. I recommend starting with ones that are NOT a full even fringe all the way across. Get ones that are a little more sparse. Mine are from Walgreens or some such.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've told people I'm wearing them, and they've said how great they look. The sparser ones just look like you have fantastic lashes. I'd like to experiment for the more obvious ones, but I'm really thinking my sparser ones will start seeing night-out use.
she's the most beautiful! (:
ReplyDeletefalse eyelashes huh? well they look uncomfortable. anyway Twiggy is infitely gorgeous ! <3
ReplyDeleteI tried them once. Maybe because I didn't do a good job, but I didn't like them very much. They're so hard to put on and the glue feels icky especially being so close to your eyes. And the glue takes forever to go away/take off. :/ They look cute, though.
ReplyDeleteI wore false lashes on my wedding day having never worn them before. I was understandably dubious given I wanted to feel comfortable but they TOTALLY made the look. And they look fantastic in the pictures - they don't look fake at all and I could hardly feel them.

i tried extensions on a whim and it turned out to be one of those thing you didn't know you couldn't live w/o until you got them. i go every 3-4 weeks and it takes an hour, but in the meanwhile no mascara, no black smudges under the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI work with a girl who wears fake eyelashes everyday! They look awesome on her! I'm not that talented but I did get eyelash extensions for my wedding and I am a HUGE fan! Seriously they lasted for like 3 months and they make you feel so so pretty;)
