that is such a great idea!I could totally see me dividing rooms like this is my future children share.
IKEA can do no wrong. Is this foreshadowing a sibling for Toby? :)
How cute!! And a great idea.
I love this. And how great are those beds?
i love this!!! :)
When I was little and shared a room with my older sister, this was my DREAM! My sister and I were (and still are) extremely different, so I always tried to get my mom to re-decorate our room to something like this!
Erin, I was wondering the same thing!
Love it! Wish my room (that I shared with my sister when I was young) was that chic!
Aw it's so cute, love the beds!
Awww this is totally a great idea! Being the only girl I never shared a room, but hopefully my little girl will have a sister someday so she can have fun sharing a room =)- Sarahhttp://agirlintransit.blogspot.com
Clever, fun and simply A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!
I think this is such a sweet idea! I love all things Ikea:) Btw: The wallpaper idea is brilliant. How was your weekend away, Joanna? Kisses
Cute and beautiful! Those little beds are amazing.I like the idea of the wallpaper to apply on other spaces also... like where I have my office at home at the dining room's corner... good idea... I'm inspried now.*Hugs*
So adorable x
I love this. I shared a room with my two sisters until I was 12. I often used chalk and sometimes tape to mark off "my side" of the room. The wallpaper would have been a better idea. I feel all nostalgic thinking back to those times, even though I remember dreaming about my own bedroom most of the time. At least I had my own bed. My younger sisters had to share a bed until they were 10!
How genius is this idea!!! My 2 girls share a room and we are pondering on how to make it their own as individuals while still sharing...What a great solution!
I grew up sharing a room with three to four of my sisters as a young child and then at least one as I grew older and I think it is SO important in the growth of a child to have to share. I am grateful for mine certainly. My son and his sibling on the way will certainly be sharing a room! Hopefully it's a boy so they can share it for longer. heheI love the idea of two decorating schemes and am totally inspired by that photo!
I remember my brother and I had to share a room at my Dad's place until I was 11. I wish we'd had separate areas!
Brilliant!! I wish I could sleep in there!!
I wish my sister and I could have had such a luxury- regular bunk beds for us :)
What a lovely idea. Much better than a chalk line. Plus, the individuality of the siblings. So cute.
this is fantastic!! my parents should have done something like this for my brother and I ...it would have saved us alot of trouble. If my kids ever end up having to share a space I will definitely do this.
How adorably chic! Great Idea!
so adorable! that gold polka dot wallpaper is so cute and that mini bed for the doll is so adorable, I love that post very much :)http://girlynote.blogspot.com/
that is genius!!
I love this idea, I love Ikea and look through their catalog.I used to share a bedroom with my brother until 11 yr.It worked out, my kids 9yr girl and 7 yr boy share a room. I think it work out good for now but my daugther will have her own bedroom when she will turn 10 ( we r moving yeahh)How was your weekend Joanna?Where did you go?
So PRETTY! Does anyone happen to know where the wallpaper is from?
I like the idea, but I don't think I would be brave enough to do this for my kids...But your comment about a line down the middle made me think it might be neat to have a wall painted with chalkboard paint so that the kids could decorate their own sides.
Great idea!! I would have loved to share a room with a sister (which I do not have, but ok ;-) ) And indeed.. Joanna, is that something you are considering?? :-) X Mandy
Oh wow, such a cute idea. I want to live in that room!
my boy is due any day and my girl (Lily, 14 months) and he will be sharing a room! not immediately, because he'll be with his mama and papa for the first bit in a bassinet, but soon, and I can.not.wait. will be so cute :D
this looks so awesome! the two wallpapers somehow don't even clash at all. wish my sister and i had a room like this growing up....we had masking tape lines separating us many times ;)
how i wish my parents had seen this when i was young! i wanted pink walls, to which my sister obliged. then promptly rejected upon their completion. she wanted blue. we ended up with blue sponge painting over the pink. i lived in a world of cotton candy for nearly ten years! TEN!
What a great room! I shared my room with my siblings for a long time. I don't think our room was as organized as this one is in terms of separating personal spaces. I'm sure it would have saved us from a lot of sibling fights.
Absolutely adorable! That's what I imagined for mulled if I were to have a second. We live in small spaces and need a similar set up.www.geekettegazette.comwww.thegirlieblog.com
I like this... neutral colors and yet each side done so uniquely for each child.
My two girls share a room and the oldest had that bed in white (the youngest is still in a crib) I absolutely love the bed because it expands as they grow. We'll be getting a second one for the baby when she graduates to her big girl bed. Only problem is finding sheets & duvets for it that don't make you break out into a total sweaty mess while you are trying to make it up. If anyone can figure that out, let me know! IKEA just recommends buying the full twin size and having the extra length underneath the mattress.
I've shared a room with one of my sisters half my life and golly i wish we would've had this idea. Adorable.xoxo
what a great idea! i'm loving the wallpaper choices they used too. so different giving each girls' area their own "specialness"
i think i'll make my (not-yet-existent) kids share a room just for the sake of re-creating this.
I grew up having to share a room with my younger sibiling too and I WISH my mother would have thought about this idea for our rooms! Kids need to express their individuality and they love decorating their rooms so what a more genius idea than this? Thanks soooo much!
so cute I wouldn't want to share it. I'm an only child so sharing has never been my thing. ha!
I ADORE this idea!!! Do you think this would work for a his and hers bathroom?? Kinda a fun idea right?! xxoo- Vanessa (the gal) http://fashiongalfireman.blogspot.com
That is a really good idea! Something that I would have loved when I was younger and shared a room with my sister who is 11 years younger than me!Laurenmildmediumhot.net
i love this!!! the wallpaper idea is too perfect.
Cute, the wallpaper is a great way of separating the room. It reminds me of the Full House episode where DJ and Stephanie tried to put a line down their room and separate their spaces. Hilarity ensued.
The wallpaper idea is genius!
Hey... that's actually a very clever idea! Let's just hope the two kids sharing the room don't like anything... um... OUTRAGEOUS! Say... oh I dunno... Barbie vs. Batman :)
Just another post that makes me scream for baby #2! How adorbs!Yanirahttp://glammom.onsugar.com
cute.. our dividing line is a wooden train track (erected by the four year old... not our idea)
Super-pretty! I also like how the rug makes it feel like a cohesive whole...windeater.blogspot.com
Haha. Reminds me of my childhood. My sister and I shared a room, and my mom let us each pick a different wallpaper. In retrospect, hers was WAY nicer. It was nice to feel like we each had our own say on how our side was decorated.
Love it- you could so show their different personalitites with the wall paper!
Ikea always has the best ideas... Wish I could just live in one of their stores.
how adorable! and from IKEA too! they come up with really brilliant stuff!
Clever. The duo wall paper is total genius. Make both space much more interesting. xoxohttp://hellofridaybypaik.blogspot.com/
I used to share a room with my sister, which was ok untill i became 10. All of a sudden i needed my own space. As we only had a tiny little room available in the house i managed to convince my mum to put my bed over there. There was no space left to move, but i had my OWN room :D
I love this idea! We live in a small 2 bed flat with only one child at the moment but I was just wondering what we'd do if we had another ... I don't want to move because I love it here! This seems like a good solution for a while.
Such a great idea! This room is beautifully decorated!Maria xxwww.cheekypinktulip.blogspot.com
What a great idea! It really gives each kid their own style, too. Can't go wrong with IKEA!Kristina GulinoSomething 2 Write About
i agree.. this is such a great idea.. By having a shared room like this, children, siblings will be more closer and find a best friend form each other without getting out of the house.
When I was little and shared a room with my older brother, this was my DREAM! My brother and I were (and still are) extremely different, so I always tried to get my mom to re-decorate our room to something likebunk beds I love this......
This is adorable. The husband and I share our office - maybe we should do this in front of our desks!
To begin with ,you have created a very nice theme . I think i might design something similar for a future blog that i plan to build . In addition ,i really enjoy most of your posts and your different point of view. Cheers
