I've spotted lots of women around New York recently wearing simple gold wedding bands (pretty!), so I decided to do a round-up of long-time favorites. You can always get your ring engraved, too: My wedding ring says "all my love," and Alex's ring says, "all my life," inspired by our grandparents.

The #5 ring in this post is made by Satomi Kawakita who made my ring. I love my ring and I sometimes find myself just staring at it. Since I've been married twice to the same man I have two rings, and the first is a simple gold band. The second is the diamond by Satomi.
That CatBird ring stole my heart a while ago. They have it in Rose Gold, too!
My engagement ring is an Etoile solitaire from Tiffany and that's pretty simple to begin with but it has a very wide platinum band so I paired it with a 2mm plain white gold wedding ring. Most of the time I just wear the band, I love how delicate it is.

They are by Bario Neal- I love their jewelry. Besides being on a small budget, we loved the idea of keeping things simple yet beautiful, and not letting money be the deciding factor of when we get married. A lot of people are suprised by the simplicity of my rings, but I love them!
Love these! My wedding band is simple and gold and it used to belong on my mother's ring finger. As a widow she wanted me to wear her wedding ring as a way for her marriage with my father to live on. She wears his ring on a necklace. My husband's band was his maternal grandfather's. We knew we wanted to do something sustainable for our wedding rings, and then when our mothers offered these precious family heirlooms, it seemed like the perfect way to honor those past relationships.

What I love most about my engagement ring and wedding band is the memory of meeting the man who made them. My fiance and I were traveling near his hometown in India when he proposed. The engagement ring was much too big so we went with his sister and father to see the jeweler to re-set it. The jeweler spoke no English and I speak no Hindi, so the two of us communicating back and forth with drawings and hand movements had everyone laughing. He kept showing me necklaces and earrings and different stones, asking me which I preferred. Days later my sister-in-law and mother and father-in-law (to be!) presented me with earrings and a necklace to match my ring. I was engaged to the whole family!

I am currently wearing a stack of three thin silver bands (made from silver wire). I had a plain silver band, but it broke over the summer. Sad!
I didn't have a traditional engagement ring--I had too many concerns about conflict diamonds and we really preferred buying a new mattress. :)

My ring is simple, just a white gold band with pave cut diamonds on it. It's thin and flat, which makes me less prone to smack it or scratch it on stuff.
What great timing! My fiance and I are going to pick out our wedding rings this weekend. I think we're going to choose something fairly simple, with maybe a unique detail or two. I love understated jewelry in general, so any of the ones pictured above are right up my alley.

I wear the ring that was actually my engagement ring. It's a thick white gold band with a tiny diamond in a tension setting. My hubs picked it out himself and I love it. From Niessing.
It's my wedding anniversary today! We got married on 9/9/99 so we've been married exactly 12 years. My wedding ring is the simplest of all in that it's invisible - mainly because a) i never usually wear rings and b) i always lose things :)

My wedding band is a vintage inspired, hand engraved white gold band. It has what the jeweler called a "poinsettia-like" engraving on three sides. I adore it!

Both me and my husband have simple white gold bands. I wanted something timeless and versatile as I love jewellery, especially big silver stone rings, and didn´t want it to clash. My husband never ever wore a ring before so this made it a bit easier for him to adjust as well:)

I have a thin, plain platinum band - my husband and I did secret engravings on them which we didn't read to each other until our wedding day. In a one-off romantic gesture, my husband had put: "you're nothing short of my everything". Everytime I think of it, I smile.
Just yesterday I told my husband I wanted one of these delicate gold rings for our anniversary! They are so gorgeous (and great when you have a baby to carry around...no scratchy rocks!)

Love all these simple rings! I'm not a big ring person, so I definitely wanted something flat....with diamonds going all the way around. I told my husband that spending a fortune on a ring was ridiculous and he couldn't afford it anyway, so I wore a plain band on my right hand for our engagement and then had it resized for my left hand for a wedding ring. I love it. Maybe one day when we have disposable income I can get something sparkly!

Mine goes along the lines of what you posted above. I love it! My engagement ring is my bigger ring, but sometimes subtlty is so much better. I chose this ring because we got married in an aspen grove in September (the sapphire birth stone is sept).

When I was dating my husband, I mentioned that if I were to ever get married, I would want a very simple engagement ring and wedding band. He laughed so hard! To this day he has not forgotten that I said that!

I love a simple wedding ring. There's something so timeless about it, and also the practical fact that you'll be wearing it every day for the rest of your life and therefore probably don't want something too bulky.
I'm so glad to read that a simple gold band is back in style (since my engagement ring is safely nestled in my make-up bag!) - I only wear my Cartier 3-gold band (they are layered one on top of the other and not in a link like the infinity ring). My husband has the same one and we have each other's name engraved with our wedding date - 20 years in November!

Simple wedding bands are so beautiful. I have two weddings bands...one has diamonds all the way around and the second is a plain white gold band. Half the time I wear both bands with my engagement ring and the other half I just wear the simple, plain band. I love wearing it by itself mainly because this was the ring he put on my finger on our wedding day...thats all I see when I look at it. I dont need to wear other two rings becuase to me they are just beautiful rings, that I love of course. ;)
I saw go for the plain wedding band. Sure women love to have a diamonds but the plain wedding band has enough sparkle with what it symbolizes.

My husband and I wear matching rings, a simple white gold band. I'm from Brazil, and we wanted to do the same as people in Brazil do. When we got engaged, we both wore our rings on our right hand, then switched to the left when we got married.

I wear a simple gold band. It was all of $50, on our wedding day, no less. The rings we had ordered did not arrive in time since we had to move up our wedding due to a deployment. We drove 120 miles each way to the nearest city and bought very basic gold bands to wear until the ones we had ordered arrived....and guess what? We never once put those on our fingers. LOL! They arrived and just didn't hold any meaning. So we've been wearing the cheapies we bought on our wedding day for the last 9 1/2 yrs. haha!

My wedding ring looks almost identical to the one on the bottom left corner but I SERIOUSLY considered one with a knot tied in it because...come on! That's adorable!

My husband and I both wanted very simple silver wedding bands. I'm a pianist and can't wear big jewelry on my hands when I play so I didn't want something too fussy. The simple band is perfect for me. From the outside, they are plain and classic. On the inside, our fingerprints are engraved. We got them from Fabuluster on Etsy and they are absolutely amazing. I love that the fingerprints are our little secrets.
I always wanted to do what Audrey Hepburn did....she had 3 delicate bands: rose gold, silver and a diamond band. My husband talked me out of it but now I kind of regret not doing it. i love that knot ring the most. my ring is 18k white gold with 1ct total weight of prong set diamonds. i usually dont even wear my engagement ring w/ it since the band looks beautiful on its own.

I have an appointment with a ring designer in 3 weeks and I don't know what to go for. I'm torn between a simple band or diamonds. Either way I think it's going to have to be moulded to fit my engagement ring as it's an unusual shape and there would be huge gaps.
I love this idea! So many ring settings get out-dated, and if you plan to wear it for a lifetime (lets all hope) then I think a simple ring is so lovely and elegant. I'd much rather spend that "ring money" on travel, or toward a beautiful home. :)

I love these rings. I'm a fan of plain, gold, thin, and simple. I'm not married - nor engaged and all of my friends ALWAYS tell me I'll change my mind when it's my turn. I really don't think so since I've felt this way always (and I'm in my 30's). Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks this is a nice way to go.
P.S. Just looked back on your post about not changing your name. I can't imagine changing mine either - but all my friends (save one) have done it. I guess more people are traditional than i would have thought. I loved that post -- love hearing people's thoughts on that.

i have a thin gold band and have always liked its simplicity. Got it from greenkarat - they melt down recycled gold and turn it into jewelry to avoid issues with goldmining. That says, I'd sometimes like a stone.
I'm a white gold girl all the way, but I hope that if/when I get married I won't have anything huge on my finger. I like small and simple! I really like the engraving idea.

I love the way a simple band eliminates the pressure of investing in a perfect, pricy ring (which, for most people, just adds one more thing to their daunting wedding to-do lists). I really think keeping as many things as possible simple about a wedding puts the focus where it should be: on the marriage. I love diamonds and glitz, too, but there's nothing like a simple band to visually symbolize the commitment of marriage. (This written by a girl who wears a big, antique engagement ring, and a tiny wedding band...I guess I'm equal parts good and horrible at following my own advice.)

Both my grandmother and my mother wear simple gold wedding bands and they are beautiful because of the love and depth in both marriages. I think I prefer the look of plain rings for this reason and I have never cared for sparkly anything.
My husband and I went wedding ring shopping the day after we got engaged because we heard that a jewelry store in town was going out of business. :) We were poor college students at the time. We chose plain gold bands and I love how mine has developed a patina from four years of daily wear and real life.

My engagement ring was a simple gold band with a small 1/4 carat diamond and I loved it's understated ease (on my finger and on a young couples wallet!). Unfortunately I lost it during our packing/moving three years ago. For mother's day my hubby and I went out and bought a simple band, this time white gold, inlaid with six tiny diamonds. We got it on sale at a department store :) To me it is the perfect symbol of our love and the fact that losing a ring, while sad, was really no big deal when compared with the wonderful life we share together. My new simple band reminds me of that everyday!

These are all so beautiful. My partner and I were engaged 2 years ago (not yet married thanks to a baby last year!), and I was stunned by the ring he gave me - his great-grandmother's engagement ring (and band). It's from the 1920s! I thought I would have wanted something simple and wasn't interested in having a diamond at all, but I love the vintage setting and sparkly diamond. I also thought Chris might "consult" me in advance because he is (sweetly) terrible at buying me jewelry, but this was the best surprise ever! (the engagement and the ring) I think I am more of a girlygirl than I thought! :)
Btw, when Chris proposed, he first put the simple wedding band in my hand (and had the diamond in his shirt pocket). I didn't know what to say or what it meant! So I was like, thanks for the ring, sweetheart. And then he said, I saw it and thought of you, but I thought that ring would look REALLY great with this (and then he whipped out the diamond). What a tease but I loved the sweet excitement of the delay and uncertainty!

I love all of these rings, this post is so helpful for people looking for something elegant but understated. I have the Bario-Neal knot for our wedding -it's so lovely. We are still hunting for a band for my Groom-To-Be. He wants a sturdy band that's slightly worn looking yet modern. Simple is the most beatiful ! I love these rings. Mine is simple in white gold with diamants. I love to wear (is that the right verb for a ring ??)it alone without anything else on the hand. Just simple. Just to say : "Look my love : it's you, only you." Pfff, it's disgusting : I am desperatly romantic.
My boyfriend recently surprised me with the Catbird heart ring in rose gold and a silver alphabet ring with his initial. :) We are only in the process of deciding on an engagement ring just now, which will be a platinum pave with a cushion cut conflict free diamond, but I am set on having a plain rose gold wedding band. A few years ago I never would have gone for that kind of contrast, but I love the idea of a wedding band being simple.

I have a classic, gold ring with my husband's name and our wedding date engraved inside. And he, one with my name. It's actually the norm in Argentina to have the name of your partner and wedding date engraved inside of your ring... and I thought it was kind of tacky at first. But I've grown to like it... it's like carrying a small apart of him around always... plus... in our senile years... it will help us remember when and to whom we are married!

We got married a couple of weeks ago (best day ever!) and we were torn beforehand whether to go with white gold or yellow gold as my engagement ring is white gold. We ended up with nice, simple gold bands which we're both thrilled with.
They're timeless and if I'm honest with myself, gold bands have always represented marriage to me. So there really never was a competition. We have our initials (and our favourite candy!) M&M and our wedding date engraved inside.

These are beautiful. I love simple rings. Another one to add to your list is the Tiffany's bow, it looks like a string tied in a bow around your finger.
An old Swedish tradition has the man wearing an engagement ring too, so we both wore matching hand-hewn round 18k gold bands when we got engaged. When we married I got a second ring of the same, and wore them stacked.
i love simple wedding bands, but they have to go right with your engagement ring. that's the hard part. i love the heart band, but once i actually get a ring, we'll see what it goes with i guess :)
i have a very simple wedding band, and my husband gave it to me when we got engaged, so it's my only ring. it's a thin platinum band with a slight detail on the border, and he had it engraved. it says 'they twain are one flesh" paraphrasing from genesis.
This is so sad for me. My husband and I got matching bands when we got married. Then last summer, a few months before our 40th anniversary, my ring slipped off my finger and fell to the bottom of a lake in Canada. It was a shock, but I know that I have what it represents, and that is the important thing. I just can't get a "replacement" because that is the only ring he placed on my finger on our wedding day.
Ours are simple bands in platinum (we chose platinum because is the most pure, rare and hard metal)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my wedding ring. My engagement ring was so simple and perfect that my husband and I had to search for a perfect match. Finally, we found our wedding rings on esty. A simple gold ring that looks like a tree trunk. Simple and perfect.
I chose to get a simple gold band rather than a big 'bling-bling' ring and it was one of the best decisions I've made (besides marrying my husband). It's just so versatile. Glad the trend is catching on!

Simple is always attractive, it can have some sort of individual feature like a writing or a finger print on the inside, but a plain band is always classy.
The ring symbolizes more than just a material possession, it symbolizes the affection, the trust and the bond that the couple share. The choice of wedding ring is depends on the bride and groom, it is special because it is a symbol of love between bride and groom.

Rings can be bought by the man, the woman, the couple together, or by each partner for the other. I think all the rings are just fabulous, they are amazing.
I like the original styles, but they look so thin and dainty, like they could be broken easy. I'd prefer something stronger if it's that thin, like tungsten.
