My sister just sent me this amazing video about London style! We should all dress like we live in the 1930s. (Also, did you notice how the guy disappears for a second in the 1940's when he goes off to war?)
It's part of an advertising campaign to promote a new shopping centre in the East End of London, which in turn is opening to support the London Olympics!
I love all the clothes and I'm so excited about the Olympics!!!
Like the video, great idea (though I think it's an ad for a the new Westfield shopping mall that's opening next week(?)) I live in London - that's how we dance round here!
oh wow, notting hill girl, that is awesome! and so funny that it's for a mall -- i figured it must be an ad for something since it ends with "sept 13, 2011."
Love that! How fun! Was I the only one thinking about how many times those people must have had to do that dance to get all of those takes and clothing changes synced??? Haha!
And I definitely agree -- let's all dress 1930's all the time... so classy. ;)
Thanks for sharing that!! That was way fun. And I loved the different dance styles that went along with the times. And I agree, wish I could back in time and wear some of those clothes.
Brilliant video! It's hard to pick a favourite, but I *think* it's the forties. Having said that, I loved the thirties and the fifties too, and the nineties made me smile! :)
I just wanted to add a plant tip here, because the comment list on that post is already sooo long and somehow my comments never seem to appear when I add to those :-( not sure why or what I'm doing wrong.
Plant tip: a really beautiful plant, which is easy to maintain and which doesn't need a lot of TLC or light is the Alocasia. It comes in different varieties and looks a little like a banana tree (which always die on me :-))
E., sounds great, thank you for the tip! (i think the reason your don't see your comment is bc it's on the second page of comments once the comment list gets long. so even if you don't see it, i will! :) thank you SO much for the advice!!
wonderful little video! I wish we still dressed like the 30's as well! it's crazy to see how the dance changes too! This must have taken forever but so worth it!
This video has definitely been making the rounds, it's sooo adorable! So fun to see all the fashions we keep changing, but the basics stay the same! Smoking Crayolas Blogspot
Yay for wonderfully creative advertising... I can watch this again and again- especially for the 1920's- 40's styles. And is it me, or does anyone else feel that the "sex sells" advertising is just lazy and wholly uncreative?
Oh I love this video! Hope you don't mind if I share it on my blog :) Did you notice at the end of the video they were dancing in the Westfield mall in London? I was there last Spring!
The blog was absolutely fantastic! Lots of great information and inspiration, both of which we all need!b Keep 'em coming... you all do such a great job at such Concepts... can't tell you how much I, for one appreciate all you do!
It really is part of an advertising strategy to market a fresh purchasing middle within the East Stop based in london, which experts claim is starting to aid the Greater london Olympics!
I like all the clothes that i'm therefore excited about the particular Olympics!!!
I enjoyed the video. thanks for sharing :)
