Oh. My. Goodness. I adore these hand-embroidered United States pillows, which feature cities, states, countries, regions and national parks. Aren't they fantastic? Which would you get? Where are you from?P.S. State cheeseboards and city prints.

I'm from Philly, but I'd be hesitant to get a pillow of the state of PA. Everything between here and Pittsburgh is considered the boonies.
ReplyDeletethese are fantastic, :) im from the UK but love these. never been to america xx
ReplyDeleteCute! Can I get an Australian one? ;) (I like the Hawaiian one best, though.) X
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Vermont. And maybe Ski Vermont. I lived there when I was young although I can't reasonably say I'm from there since we moved so much. It's just the place where a huge piece of my heart will always be.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit they are pretty fantastic! Love all the mix of colours. I would have to get Texas since I'm from Paris! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend lady x
haha, erin, my cousins, aunt and uncle live in washington. their house is awesome (in really pretty woods) but the area is so barren--just strip malls, really!
ReplyDeletethey remind me of Rifle Design (anna bond's stationery ) xo
ReplyDeleteAh!! I am from the Adirondacks and we Upstate folks have a lot of pride in our region! I'd absolutely have to get that one. Then maybe a CT pillow to represent my boyfriend in our decor as well :)
ReplyDeleteOh, don't get me wrong, a lot of the state is really pretty (your family's house sounds lovely!) but you're right, there isn't a whole lot going on!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I would get all the states I have lived in. :)
ReplyDeleteLove these! I would get New Jersey, where I'm from, and Boston, where I went to school. These would also be a great Bon Voyage gift- like the Alaska pillow for my cousin who's moving there!
ReplyDeleteohh I love them! I'm from Sweden, but my bf is from Chicago - a city that I luckily love, so one Chicago/Illinois for me, please!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Cali girl and I would totally snatch up that pillow!! How adorable.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Erin about being from Philly and not necessarily wanting a Pennsylvania one. I'd rather get one from a place where I have vacationed and have great memories. How about Maine?
ReplyDeleteI'm from good-old Illinois! I looove living in the Midwest, actually! So beautiful here! :)

ReplyDeletelove it! i am from the adirondacks and actually have that pillow!
ReplyDeleteoh i love love these pillows and have seen them in Ampersand in the Galleria in Edina. I have been lusting for the Mn pillow for awhile now... someday!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I'm from NJ, but my region of the state isn't really represented on the pillow. Probably because Warren County (in the northwest quadrant of the state) is really nothing but a bunch of farms. :-P
ReplyDeleteOk, I realized that they actually make city pillows and lots of other specific ones too. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm from NC, so I really want that pillow! A lot of my family is from England, so I kind of want that one, too! Theses are adorable!
ReplyDeleteHAWAII BABY!! (I'm from Maui and I sooooo miss it!)
ReplyDeleteso funny - i was just looking at these when i was out in LA last weekend! i'm originally from NJ but live in NYC now
ReplyDeleteI have wanted one of these pillows for so long! The Texas one, represent!, and then the other states where I have lived.
ReplyDeleteThey cover Texas, the big cities, the hill country...they're fabulous pillows! The same company also makes fantastic city/state tumblers and tea towels (cuteness for less $)...love them!

i've recently had an obsession with state pride. I started making city/state greeting cards and I sell them in my etsy store, http://www.etsy.com/shop/orianakz. So, I'm all about the MN pillow. made in mn, thanks for the tip, I'm going to check them out in Edina.
ReplyDeleteI am proud to be from the U.S and am a California girl. Those pillows are great. They would make a charming present as well.
ReplyDeletethese have been around a quite a long time now. i love them too. i got a san francisco one about 10 years ago, now it is in my twin boys room! and even though i now live in belgium it reminds me of home every day :)
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome (and so are the cheese boards)! I've been swelling with pride for my state lately! I'd get the Arkansas ones (:
ReplyDeleteI proudly hail from Arkansas, The Natural State. I love state pillows. I've also seen them here:

xo.
My Mom has these!! For Maine and Connecticut. And she even has glasses, too. They're so fun and such a great gift when someone is moving to a new city or state!
ReplyDeleteno way, karaugh, that is awesome!
ReplyDeletethese are so cute@! I am really diggin all the state themed things
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! I especially love that Minnesota pillow. I'm from Kansas and that pillow pretty much sums up all we have to offer :P lol..I love it!
ReplyDeleteI have one! It's from my wonderful hometown - Atlanta. It makes me so happy to see it on my couch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I live in Maryland and would love to see one that incorporated crabs and lacrosse :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Michigan girl through and through. I have actually been thinking I'd like a little MI art for my office/craft room, but maybe a pillow would be better!
ReplyDeleteOh my word. These are amazing, I will be house buying soon so these are going on my list!

I love these! I have seen them in stores and haven't gotten one yet! until now I have lived in dorms and have been too nervous to get nice bedding and pillows. Now that I have graduated definitely going to get one from California, I am from San Jose.
ReplyDeletewww.fablifeincalifornia.blogspot.com
A couple of years ago I started collecting the glasses they have based on the states I've lived in. I had no idea they made pillows!
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to Yosemite awhile back they had dish towels exactly like this. I bought one, broke up with my boyfriend at the time when we got back from the trip, and couldn't bare to put the dishtowel out. Now that you post this I just may go hunt for it The towel is darling the ex boyfriend not so much : )
ReplyDeleteFrom Alabama, but I fancy getting one for each of the states I have lived in... which adds California, Texas and New York to the list. :) Love them.
ReplyDeleteI'm from Illinois, but I'd love to get a pillow from every state my husband and I vacation to (we take a roadtrip vacation each summer, and so far we could have collected South Dakota, Wisconsin and Missouri). If only they were a bit less expensive, because they are darling. :)
ReplyDeleteAt $149 a pop, I will stick with my memories of my home state, Michigan. Always free and my dog can't pee on those! :)
ReplyDeletePanda Bear... these take a WEEK to embroider, frankly, there are few people who would do a weeks work for 149 dollars, so I wouldn't say they are over-priced...
ReplyDeleteI was just coming on to say I couldn't believe how cheap they were for that amount of labour!
wowzer :)
Abigail, as a public school teacher, $149 for a pillow is out the realm of possibility. If you can afford to spend that kind of money on luxury items, I am so happy for you! Please go buy a few! I'll be buying groceries, if that's ok with you?
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are gorgeous / Marie Söderberg
ReplyDeleteThis whole line is great! My former boss gave me a Texas and San Antonio as a going away gift. I recently relocated to Nashville, TN. These are the perfect way to remember your previous home state/city!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are amazing. Can't believe they're hand embroidered!
ReplyDeleteaw, i love these! i was born in minneapolis, then moved to phoenix when i was 12, and now we are home sweet home in kansas city :) my heart is absolutly and completely in the midwest!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I am in love. I'm from California so I can get a few pillows. Oh yea, this totally just made my Friday! Thank you for posting!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Land of 10,000 Lakes girl, but I'm about to move to Denver so I think I NEED THAT! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute, and i dont even live in the US!
ReplyDeletehttp://oliviadollydaydream.blogspot.com/
I would get the Maine one, it's adorable! It mentions Stephen King, UMaine and blueberries...it's perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love these. I think I have seen similar ones in a store in downtown Disney? I would definitely get the California one! And maybe the SF one too!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely but I prefer the actual vintage ones. They used to make pillows like these with embroidery, prints on silk, and even velvet painted ones. I got a vintage one in Alaska and was told that they were originally made for soldiers to pick up at their different locations to ship home to their families instead of postcards.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't buy one, even though they're cute, because they spelled my alma mater wrong! They called UW-Madison "U of Wiscosin" !!
ReplyDeleteoh how cute!!! i would totally get the COLORADO pillow! born and raised and happily here still :-) .....if it weren't for that pricetag i'd be typing my CC number right now hahaha maybe christmas....
ReplyDeleteYosemite. That's where my husband and I went for our honeymoon. And we even saw most of what is on the pillow.
ReplyDeleteThose are great! I am totally amazed that they are all done by hand!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I would totally get the Minnesota pillow - I love all that is on it. It has my hometown and my current city, plus all the great places up north that I love escaping to.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
B
Nice, there's even a DC pillow. That would make a nice addition to our apartment...
ReplyDeleteI collect state plates! Love these pillows.

Would definitely have to go for the New York one. Reminds me of a tablecloth of Florida that my grandparents bought while on their honeymoon there in 1937!
ReplyDeleteOhh, love these.
ReplyDeleteI have the Cape Cod one! My husband got it for me for my birthday last year since I grew up there and we got married there :) Love all it's sweet details.
ReplyDeleteI was born and raised in NYC so I would get that one, but have been living in CA the past 14 yrs so would get that one too.
ReplyDeleteLove the details!
Love the Paris one and the Michigan one!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a history/geography nerd, needless to say I love them!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'd get California because that is where I'm from, but my favorite is probably North Carolina or Kansas.
ReplyDeleteSweet home Alabama!
ReplyDeleteWish they had a London pillow, too - my new favorite city.
They also have dish towels which are a cheaper option and can go with every sort of decor (I have and love the SF one:)

These remind me of a UK invite designer bunnydelicious who does cute 'worldly themes' for table plans, invites and honeymoon albums etc...

I've had my eye on these for a bit now & love them! Since I'm married to the military and we move every few years, I hope to get one for each state we've lived in (OK, SC, DE, FL...the list gets longer every couple of years!).
ReplyDeleteLove these but wish they just sold the patterns. I'd love to stitch one. Their website says it takes an artisan up to a week to make one, so at $150 a piece the person is probably making $2 an hour, if that.
ReplyDeletethese are darling! wish i could buy one to send home with our german guests! but alas, no arizona :(
ReplyDeleteoh well, i still love them!
i'd get the utah pillow, but of course. i currently live in san diego, but love all things utah and salt lake as it is my hometown :)
ReplyDeletethese are all really cute!
These kind of remind me of the Pendleton "National Park" blankets. Viva state inspired stuff! I love/want them all!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe my eyes- there's an Emerald Coast pillow! It even says "Grayton Beach"! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI actually won one of these on a Young House Love giveaway and I absolutely love it! I chose the San Francisco pillow because it's where I spent 5 amazing years. I'm very overprotective of the pillow. guests and my dogs can't get too close ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I'm in love! I would definitely get a New Jersey one, gotta represent that home state pride!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! I loveeee how my state is shaped too, I'm from Dallas, Texas! :) Would be super cute!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to make a pillow for TOby, but I haven't assembled the frame yet. These are lovely. I love you. Mom
ReplyDeleteA friend from college had one in his dorm room for Texas, where I am also from albeit a differnt part of this beautifully vast state, and when I saw it for the first time, I defintely squealed.
ReplyDeletelove these! i got really lucky a couple years ago and found the oregon pillow at a thrift store in texas for $4! i took it home and it continually makes me happy on the couch to think of the breezy, beautiful pacific northwest here in the hot south.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love these ridiculously kitschy state embroidered throw pillows. I have been all about getting a CA or a Utah one. Maybe VA will say it's for lovers! ;p Cute!

I love these pillows! When we moved from Atlanta my girlfriends went in together and got me the Atlanta one! Then, my girlfriends from my new state went in together and got me one from here because they thought I should be equally represented! I LOVE them because of all they represent (home, friends and love!).
ReplyDeleteOh wow, these are so pretty !
ReplyDeleteLove these! My husband and I have the new Hampshire one which features the college we went to and everyone always compliments it! We also have some frosted glasses from this shop with the same print. The quality of this stuff is great!
ReplyDeleteOMG! My mom must be so on the it list, she got me two of these pillows for christmas last year and I ADORE Them! One for Kansas (where I'm from) and one from New York (where my bf is from and where we live!) Great post!

I have always loved the states pillows! so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am from California and would love to have one!
xx
callie
These pillows are great. Very cute idea and wonderful gift!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love these and have for a long time! I plan on splurging on a New Hampshire one the minute I make enough money to validate a handmade pillow purchase. :D I'd love to get a Maryland one, too, for my roommate. That way, we'd represent our home states proudly!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Adirondacks pillow! I'm actually heading up to Tupper Lake (left of Lake Placid on the pillow) from DC tomorrow :) Mountains, lakes, and cooler nights here I come!
ReplyDeleteBonjour,
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely blog!! We can’t wait to see your future posts. Check out our beautiful shop sometime. Have a wonderful day!

I love the Indiana one!
ReplyDeleteAdore!!!! I would have to get two...Montana and Glacier National Park. Fifth generation born and raised right outside the beautiful Big Sky Country. I left 10 years ago and moved to California for the big city life. All of my family and most of my wonderful childhood friends still live there. I really might have to get these pillows to place on my couch for an everyday reminder.
ReplyDeleteLove these but WAY overpriced. I am looking for the pattern to embroider myself. Pattern for Brooklyn. Does any one have or sell these patterns?
