Dr. Katz show

Have you ever seen Dr. Katz, the genius animated show about a therapist and his grown son? He'll give sessions to his patients, but each patient's voice is actually a famous comedian (Conan O'Brien, Ray Romano, David Cross). One summer, my brother and I got totally obsessed with it and watched it everyday in Michigan. Well, this morning, I came across this clip and couldn't stop laughing.

(Now I'm tempted to buy the dvds and watch the full season:)

  2. Have never seen this! You had me at Ray Romano and Conan. Ugh - reminded now of those "noises" at night, so true. And that is so awesome that you and your brother share such great taste! My brother and I used to watch old Pink Panther (Peter Sellers) movies together. Great memories!

  18. I think I've seen a clip of this show, but I haven't ever really watched it. I love a good animated show. Have you ever seen the show "Archer" that airs on FX? It is totally inappropriate and hilarious. You have to check it out. It's a great show that men and women can enjoy (as long as they're not easily offended), which makes it perfect for couples. =)

  20. OMG, I LOVED This show! I am from Michigan too, (which has nothing to do with this show, but maybe our sense of humor?) My favorite was the one about the guy who had a fear of mayonnaise, and how his mom was always warning him about salmonella. I am laughing just typing this. Hilarious.

  28. Oh i used to love this show but noone seemed to watch it except me, im glad to remember it, i might watch sometonight.
By the way Joanna, after your Project Runway post for the 9th season, I've watched the whole 7th and 8th seasons and ripped my eyes off and became a complete fan of Mondo Guerra. Even though Gretchen Jones' style was more appealing to me, she unfortunately didnt seem a nice person on the tv. I even ordered a Mondo tshirt from his shop, I think its hilarious because I live faar from the states (istanbul it is) and it will probably take a year to get it from the mail!!!

  34. The DVD are totally worth it, I have one for when I need some cheering up. I used to watch Dr Katz at 2 am when I was working on school projects and talking about it usually results in blank looks, so I really thought no one else had heard of it.

I love Laura & Ben and some of the comedians are spot on.

Wow! When did they release the dvds? My husband LOVES this show but it was only ever on TV really late at night in Australia (most good shows like 30 Rock and Arrested Development always get really bad timeslots. I don't know why.) We bought 3 episodes on VHS years ago, but when we've looked in the past, there have been no legal releases of the show on DVD. Exciting news! Christmas present is looking sorted.
