My darlings, what are you up to this weekend? Alex is going to teach me a little bit of guitar. Can you play one? (My secret fantasy is to be like this banjo-strumming mama!) We're also hoping to visit Storm King to see the rad sculptures. Have a great one, my lovelies, and here are a few fun posts from around the web...Whole Foods Parking Lot made me laugh out loud!
Love these shoes for the fall.
On chocolate cakes, swirled icing looks much yummier than smooth icing.
Speaking of proposals, check out this marriage proposal!!!
A pretty chambray shirt.
Funny cookie cutters.
These childhood photos make my heart swell.
Under the sea.
Damn, now THAT is a sexy skirt.
Mariah's year of cakes in progress.
What a beauty (and puppy).

Having just returned from a trip to Berkeley and its plethora of Priuses and Smart Cars, the Whole Foods video made me snort. And it went straight up on my Fb for all my California friends to see.
ReplyDeleteAnd that denim shirt seals it: I'm a die-hard fan of EmersonMade. Between that shirt and the gooorgeous caftan posted a little bit ago, I'm in love!
And thank goodness for that cake... I'm so over fondant!
What a sweet marriage proposal! Your Friday links are always so great. :) Happy weekend!

Can't wait to hear how it goes!
After the banjo try a Ukaleilei (sp?). I would love to learn, they are so small and always make me think of a vacation.

I never realised you and Alex had such an age gap between you! I'm currently in the same situation (me 23, him 36... really liking each other but also wary because of our ages) - I was hoping you'd consider writing about your experiences dating an older man.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and read all the time.
Claire

ReplyDeleteThe Whole Food Parking Lot video had me LOL! Great stuff to start of the week with. :)
ReplyDeleteHA! Thank goodness. Someone who actually knows what a chambray shirt is. The girls in the dept. stores here in Roanoke looked at me like I was nuts when I went shopping for one for my husband.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite photos ever-- I adore Breathless! Jean Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteI do play guitar, and its just awesome. I play some other instruments but the good thing with a guitar is that is easy to carry and its always greatful for camping, beach or bonfire scenes.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog please: www.fluorescent-naive.blogspot.com
Oh, I love 'Breathless'! haha
ReplyDeleteI love the eclectic mix of links! x
ReplyDeleteI love EmersonMade! Also, the 12 cakes in a year idea is darling. I'm trying to think of a fun little hobby I can do and blog about myself.
ReplyDeleteHave you watched the documentary "The Rape of Europa"? It's a fascinating account of what happened to Europe's art and architectural treasures during WWII. There's an interview with the woman whose parents were charged with safeguarding the Mona Lisa, and she talks about peeling back the velvet to peek at the great lady.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! Thanks for sharing your bits of inspiration!
ReplyDeletelove mariah's "cake a month" - I'm actually doing the same!
ReplyDeleteSuper ce blog, j'adore le Bebel de cette époque.
