Totally! I love that style! Have a lovely Monday:) Kisses
I totally would wear them and do. Wide or skinny, I love it all!
ciao!
Love them, but they don't suit everyone. I'd really like some and these ones look great!
http://styleisalwaysfashionable.blogspot.com/
I own the pair in the photo, and the greatest part is that they don't accentuate any part of your body other than your rear end. Love.
Probably! Definitely can't rock the skinnies.
I adore those pants! I would absolutely wear them, but I would probably have to wear them with heels cause I'm so short :)

i think they are so flattering! with a tighter top and maybe some fierce wedges! :)
p.s. can't wait for motherhood monday! i totally saved the name post so i can get inspiration when i'm pregnant one day!
haha, Ashlae, that is awesome :)
I'd wear them, they look very Dietrich. My problem is that my size 6 feet just disappear...it looks weird.
I have some! They're made by grass and they're 70's-tastic. I wear them one or two times per week!
definitely! nice and comfy indeed!
DO! i think they are flattering on most body types..more so than skinny jeans. i love my wide leg jeans from gap. xo jillian:: enter to win a $100 shopping spree!
Absoslutely a do! They are so flattering. I bought a pair of wide-legs from the Gap earlier this spring and haven't looked back since.
giulia, i wish i had that problem. my size 10 feet *never* disappear :)
Yes! I got a pair and I love wearing them with just a white tank top, or any tank top really. They make me feel so put together even when I'm not. They are so flattering! They make me want to retire my skinny jeans which I never felt skinny enough to pull off.
I'm sportin' some right now. Yep. Reminds me of the 1970s which I lived thru unlike so many of your tender readers.:)
LOVE wide leg jeans. They are most flattering on my body, so they are a go to choice for me any day of the week!
Total do! Hips be gone!
YES! I used to have a pair of jeans similar to this. I loved them so much I bought a second. I was so sad when they wore out completely. I just might have to get a pair of these!
A definite do! They are comfier and more flattering that skinny jeans...doesn't mean all the skinny jeans will be getting kicked out of my wardrobe just yet though.
They look super comfortable!
I would wear pretty much anything Madewell puts out. So yes. I'd definitely give them a whirl.
www.morganandlua.blogspot.com
I wish. No one under 5'7'' could wear these.
I would like to try them. Anyone know of a cute petite option available?
love the look but i think they would swallow my petit frame. i will stick to my skinnies and straight legs.
http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com
I've got a couple pairs of wide leg jeans they are my favorite. Skinny jeans make me feel claustrophobic.
I give a big "do",
besos
I love them! They look so comfy, I think I'd go for it :)
yes- definitely. so cute!
Super DO!!!
Do, but in a darker wash than in the photos above. I just can't bring myself to wear medium or light wash jeans. :-P
I've had an awesome pair in closet for years but was in dire need of inspiration on how to wear w/o looking like a farmer. It's all about really fitted OR really blousy tops. And JO - the legs totes cover my size 10 feet!
yes! for shorter ladies, GAP has a great pair of wide-leg jeans in petite sizes: http://goo.gl/22iCi
haha, yay, elizabeth, that makes me feel better! :)
love these. wish we had a madewell in sf so i could try this stuff on. I'm also hooked on ditto's wide legs -- great prices on ebay and super flattering.
love them!! they just look so comfy.
Totally do! They look so good paired with a cream or floral blouse and some really high clogs! ♥-Axelle

definitely a do, i likey.
Definitely a do - I love them with more feminine touches (like the far right outfit).
Becca
an absolute DO! i love bootcut and flare leg jeans the best. personally i think flare legs are a bit more flattering than skinny jeans - they balance out my thighs and flatter the tush! ;)
i know u hear this all the time.. but, gosh dang it, do i heart your blog. :)
Do you know where I can get that Riverdale sweatshirt? It's giving me a great gift idea for my friend in the Bronx!
Yep gotta love them! Completely agree with Ashlae, they are great for the butt! (I have a 'continuation of my leg' rather than a butt - my wide legged jeans make me look like I have a good rear end!)
DO DO DO!!! I LOVE them!!
xoxo

i'm pretty short (almost 5'3") so they could either be realy good for me or really bad.
guess i'd have to try them on to figure out which! i like them though - so comfy looking!
Do, do, do. SO much better than the skinny! When will the skinny jean die and go away?
Totally, I LOVE wide leg jeans and are so happy they are back in!!!
I would love some wide leg pants! Just havent found the right pair yet. I like those Madewell ones though. May have to check them out!

I personally LOVE wide leg jeans. Great post.
Head over to my blog if you would like to enter my GIVEAWAY!

Love the look though to pull it off, I'd need some serious heels! Wish we had Madewell in Paris. Anybody know where I can get them here?
a definite do! so cute!
LOVE wide legs!
I just wore them the other day and asked the same question.... Is the wide leg look ok?! I think so!
http://missamyscerra.blogspot.com/2011/05/casual-fridaywhat-im-wearing-today.html
absolutely!
oh yes! as long as they fit well in the rear end. :) i adore that style!
super do.
Did I just buy some from Gap??? Oh yes I did! They are adorable!
xo,
Kate

I would totally. I never got into the skinny jeans because as much as I like the style, they didn't flatter my legs as much. So I wear wider leg jeans or more bell bottom jeans. Super cute.

In a NY minute ! These are FAR more flattering on my body type than skinny jeans.
yes, but i really love the style of the other jeans in the pictures. any clue what those are? couldn't find them on the madewell site.
Look like just what I'll need to help feel darling as I get back into shape after baby #2. I love them.
miranda, totally!
For sheezy. I love them and so glad they're back in style!
i do so love a wide leg jean! i few of the styles out there have got ridiculously wide, but these are just perfect. i'm a big thumbs up on this one :)
Never stopped wearing them- skinny jeans REFUSE to fit my thighs (the closest I get is Gap real straight). I love wide legs forevah!
Joanna,
where's the photo from?
I love them.
Yes!! Those are way better than skinny! :)
Love the style, especially when worn with heels and a cute blouse. I need to get a pair for work soon!
I'm 5'3" and I find these WAY more flattering than skinny jeans (on me). I look pretty horrid in skinny jeans (even though I own a pair and wear them because they are so comfortable!). --Megan
Thank GOD these are a legitimate option again! I love me my wide leg jeans- they are forgiving in all the right places.
I wear them all the time, they're very comfy and chic :)
http://girlynote.blogspot.com
LOVE wide leg jeans! I've always worn them, even when they were not the trend of the moment. My wide-leg Hudsons are my go-to jeans and I always get at least one person asking where I got them every time I wear them! For me, this look will NEVER die! :)
I don't like them outrageously wide, but I think they lend a more elegant silhouette to a figure. I wear my high-waist wide-leg jeans when I want to feel like Audrey Hepburn; just tuck in a flirty blouse or buttoned-up cardigan.
Wide leg with heels.
I don't have any. But I'd love some.
Yes! I love this style. Much more flattering on us curvy girls than skinny jeans.
I bought those and returned them pretty quickly. If you have any sort of butt, it turns into mom jean central really fast. It's definitely a result of the denim, because I have palazzo pants for work and they do not have such an unfortunate effect.
I'd definitely wear them. Love wide legged jeans.
Fashionable Collections
Yes yes yes! I definitely would. And I love that both wide leg and skinny leg are still in.
Love them. They look so comfy!!
i LOVE wide leg pants, but i always look like a raver kid in them so i refrain... too short. lovely on the long-legged of us!
I have never stopped wearing wide legs, even when skinners were "the" jeans to wear...tho I wear them too...love my flares all the time. Madewell's look great.
if i were model-tall i would. at 5'3" they look like JNCOS on me. :(
oooh yes! this screams yes! found a pair of my old calvin klein jeans, which I wore about 10 years ago, they are just gorgeous! this summer will be wide jeans for sure!
I've never been able to embrace the skinny-jean trend; my body isn't made for that look. I will always work a wide leg or a flared hem.
Adorable pants.. I would probably have worn them in my skinnier days, but not since my butt is as wide as the bottom of those pantlegs. PLUS, I don't wear any pants at that price point. Call me cheap, but there are plenty of cute pants for much less expensive.
DI
Heck yes, I love them! I can't find any (unfortunately), and it makes me sad. I am looking for a cheap, but classy pair.
I love wide leg jeans. I recently went to Nordies for new work slacks and asked for wide legs but was told they were out of style! Guess I'll be hitting up Madewell soon!
I think they are awesome, but one of those styles that can be awful if you accidentally wear some that are wrong for your body type.
good to know, colleen! i was sort of worried about the butt bc they don't have pockets (and that can look odd)....i might head over there this evening to try them on. thanks for the head's up!
YES! I love wide leg jeans & they're very flattering on me since I'm pear shaped. xx
DO! They look great on curvy girls.
I LOVE these jeans from Madewell because they are the perfect compromise from the much harder to wear, super high waist wide-legs that create the dreaded long butt, as you can witness here. ;)
http://whoorl.com/archives/5438
Definite yes!!
I'm totally over the skinny jeans thing, mostly because I could never rock them with my short muscular legs, not a flattering way to go. Besides when it is hot out wide legs are so much more comfortable, anything tight and I feel like I'm wearing a leg straight jacket.
It's so funny how styles change over time. It wasn't that long ago that I would ONLY wear wide/flared jeans... and now all I wear are slim fit jeans. To be honest, I love both styles.
xo
I'm working up the courage to wear wide-leg jeans, since I associate them with the awkward time of my youth. I find skinny jeans way too hot for summer weather, though, and it's very hot right now, so perhaps it's time to get my first wide-leg jeans since the 90's!
I wear that style all the time and love how they look on me! xxoo :)
I would definitely wear them.
i totally would... i happen to look stunning in wide leg jeans.. lol.. no am serious.
I wear pants like these all the time
So much nicer than skinny jeans that forgive nothing (hello plumber butt smile)
Got mine at apc and I have a pair in very light jean, one in mint green jeans and one in green corduroy (i will buy any pants a crazy color, especially green) and I love them. So comfortable and i like the 70s vibe. Perfect in winter with a light sweater for weekend errands
Just beware of rain...
absolutly! wide leg jeans are my favourite :)
I really love the look of those, but I'm only 5'2" and I think they might look more sloppy than relaxed on my small frame. I will just encourage all my taller friends to wear them. :)
I was eyeing this EXACT pair of jeans from Madewell all weekend! A total do, especiallly for us grown ups.
I would wear the heck out of them! I actually thing wide-legged jeans flatter way more body types than other cuts....I'm excited for them to be "cool" again!
I love the look of wide leg jeans!!
I say yes! Love these.
Relaxed/bootcut fit to skinny fit and now to the opposite end of the spectrum: the 70s inspired wide leg. What's next? (Please don't say harem pants!)
I love them! It's a really nice change from skinny jeans.
WastedWardrobe.net
Of course! they are sooo pretty!!!
I think I am too short for wide leg jeans. Happy Monday!
DO!!
Oh, I love wide leg jeans. They are so chic and flattering with fitted top.
I love wide leg jeans! So comfy and chic!!
Cheers!
Si!
Completely love them!!!!
I love these because they are automatically more formal even in lighter washes, and because they make my feet look smaller =D ! lol breezy for summer
hell to the yes I would I love these! So happy you posted this online store I LOVE it
Absolutely. Fabulous. Love them.
YES! and I wish I could afford those gloriously wide-legged jeans!
YES!!! as long as they aren't full on bell bottoms, then yes. some are way too big, but these are just the right size.
Thank you for the link to the GAP pettites Joanna. I'd love to be able to use this look on casual Fridays at the office.
Love them! I thunk the wide-leg jeans look so classic. I too have size 10 feet and never have to worry about them hiding under my jeans.
Do! but only if you have the right body for it.
I think wide-leg jeans look so neat, but I haven't found a pair that flatter me yet. Maybe I need to try more on!
I looove wide leg jeans. They help make my oddly proportioned body look like it makes sense! :)
I have two pairs of wide leg jeans, and they're my favs! Absolutely love the look of them.
DO!
Yes, I am loving mine. Right from the Gap...so 70s and stylish
I have 3 pairs of wide leg jeans. In fact last night had a pair on with wedges and a willowy top. Love them! It always looks dressy and put together.
I've been noticing high buns on New Yorkers. That style hasn't reached me in Seattle yet! Do you have any tips?
Oh, I would. In fact, I have some wide-leg denim jeans from Ann Taylor that I absolutely adore. They're very comfortable and can be worn as jeans or dressy slacks, depending on how you wear them.
Express has some beautiful wide leg crepe pants that are perfect for work! They are perfectly slouchy and come with a sash belt too. Soooo in love with them. (I'm wearing them right now) They look SO EXPENSIVE but are only $70.
LOVE them! So happy to have other options than skinny jeans which -- no way, no how -- have never looked good on me.
oh definitely YES! gorgeous!!

DO! those are great...love the color too! :)
They were cute till I clicked the link. They definitely aren't $125 worth of cute.
I love wideleg jeans. I used to have a pair until my mom accidentally gave them to goodwill. At least I hope someone else is enjoying them :P
I remember wearing wide legged jeans. This really takes me back. :)
Ha! Bobby, I'm with you. If it's more than 50 bucks, my stomach starts to hurt. However, as a woman who proudly (for the most part) boasts a pear-shape, I love wide-legs. They balance what wants to be balanced, you know?
cheers!

yes,yes,yes...do,do,do!
Totally! So much more comfortable!
Love the wide leg pants. I have two pairs from Old Navy circa 2006 or 7 (with the cute square pockets in front). And they don't even look like ON quality!
Btw...just found this blog recently and am loving it as well.
I would wear them.
Yes! I absolutely love a light wash wide leg or trouser jean in the summer, especially with a breezy floral top! Something about the sun makes me go a little bit granola.
Yes! Love my skinnies but flares and wide legs are super comfy too!
Absolutely! They are much more flattering. Especially seeing the skinny next to the wide leg. Good idea! Thanks for posting!

never, but that's because i'm the size of a hobbit and my legs aren't my best feature (aka, i don't have slim legs, so i feel like wide-leg jeans would just exaggerate that). i'm sticking with my straight-leg jeans for now :)
YES!! I'm a college girl recently turned 21 and love having girls night out and we all perfectly balance one another with some using platforms and very wide legged 70s pants and those with skinnies. Wides are coming back but skinnies are not leaving for sure!
I absolutely loooove wide leg jeans and trousers and wear them often. I think they taller you are, the better they look on you. And I will need to try out this brand :)
if i could find some that would fit my 5'1 stature, totally.
I'm with Jacqui, too small for wide legs.
An absolute do! A gal commented above that she's skinny but carries her weight in her legs and has a long torso...ME Too! The trick is to go for a higher waisted pair. It tricks the eye into making your (and mine) short legs longer.
Hey Joanna!
Wondering where this picture is from? Thank you.
Just pinned this image, and here is what I 'titled' it...
[Bein'] skinny's nice, but in this instance, wide's better.
(answer being, YES, I'd wear them!)
YES!!! They're great!
Do! There's a time and place for every cut.
i think they look okay only on models :(
DREAMS DON'T TURN TO DUST
Do! I think if you get the right fit and or color they can actually be flattering! Just think of how comfortable they'd be too! Currently browsing Madwell for a pair :)
i think they are really flattering on many figures. i'm glad they are making a come back.
the wide leg ones are soooo cute!
I love wide legs and I am hoping to buy a pair soon.
lovely and flattering on so many more body types than skinny jeans. big thumbs up.
I've never stopped wearing wide-leg jean since high school, when I rocked my dad's castoff Levi's 501's (they were wide-leg on me... :)
I joined the skinny jean bandwagon for a bit, but truly these are flattering, sexy-casual, and just my style.
I love them, but I wouldn't wear them! I'm quite petite, so I don't think it's a flattering look on me, unless I have sky-high heels, but I don't want to destroy my feet or my back. :-( I'm jealous of those of you who can rock them!
as a curvy girl, I wear them! They are comfy and Slimming!
I love everything from Madewell! Those jeans look super comfy and so flattering!
http://littleblondbird.blogspot.com/
Heck yes! These are ADORABLE!
love all kinds of jeans
and madewell is doing great with relaxed look :)
new "what's on trend" post
want to hear your thoughts @
pinklemonincrystal.blogspot.com
YES!!! I hope the wide-leg jean trend of the '90s returns! I have a pear figure and absolutely cannot wear these awful skinny jeans (they're great for those who can wear them, terrible for those who wear them but shouldn't), and that's about all I can find these days--even in maternity wear! (What?!) Wide-leg is so forgiving and flattering.
1,000 times yes! i just recently splurged on two pairs of high waisted wide legs (from j brand and ernest sewn.) i love hiding tall shoes under them and pretending i'm actually a normal size... i also love that in the summer, the flow like a long skirt would. cooler and much more comfortable.
That style looks so great...I love both wide leg and skinny pants.
I WOULD!!
Most definitely! They're great for any age. (I'm not giving mine away now, am I?) I love, love, love a relaxed look!
I was just thinking about how I want a pair of wide leg jeans! I have a pair of clogs they'd go perfect with xx
